Key responsibilities of the role:

• Manage the day to day import of supporter data from external sources into the organisation’s CRM (Raiser's Edge), ensuring timely and accurate data processing
• Contribute to the delivery of high quality data services by preparing and executing data checks, addressing quality issues, and maintaining compliance with GDPR and internal policies

The purpose of the Health and Physical Activity Lead is to work in partnership with health & care partners across the Black Country, including the NHS, Local Authorities and wider Integrated Care System partners.

The role will ensure physical activity & moving are fundamental to people’s health and wellbeing, benefiting individuals from childhood through to older age, by reducing the risk of injury or disease, improving mental health, bringing communities together and encouraging connectedness to support the prevention agenda.

This role will play a critical part in reducing health inequalities, improving health outcomes, and embedding physical activity as a core component of health & care pathways & interventions alongside community wellbeing strategies. In addition, they will work alongside national bodies to influence and engage in best practice for the benefit of residents both within the Black Country and beyond.

Main Duties

1. Working closely with the health and care sector, operate as the lead advocate for the benefits that physical activity and movement can play in benefiting people with long-term health conditions and future prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.

2. Develop understanding of the wider health and care system to influence the integration of physical activity into health & care pathways to support population health outcomes.

3. Establish effective relationships across local place-based health partnerships that develops understanding, listening and acting on the needs of local communities, working in close partnership with providers of activities and community services, to ensure residents will have equitable access to opportunities to be active and move more.

4. Identify and develop models of practice that provide easily accessible physical activity pathways, that can be delivered alongside routine care across health and care settings, that provide consistent quality assured models of delivery, trusted by health and care colleagues and offering better support for those communities in most need.

5. Taking a lead role in the physical inactivity workstream as part of the Black Country Personalisation & Prevention implementation plan to influence and ensure physical inactivity is embedded as a cross-cutting theme to address health inequalities.

6. Work with appointed strategic and learning leads respectively alongside other suppliers on the Sport England recognised ‘Place Based’ investment in the Black Country. 

7. Represent Black Country partners in regional and national conversations regarding physical activity & health promoting the Black Country as a place for national organisations to work in partnership and invest into.

8. Develop a ‘Prevention & Enablement’ model that can inform future approaches across the Black Country that can support delivery and coordination of community physical activity and health initiatives and opportunities for those living with long-term health conditions to be active and to engage in physical activity within their community in order to enable independence and to achieve wider outcomes.

9. Provide expert advice to senior leaders, boards, and external partners on best practices in physical activity promotion.

10.  Working to the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Framework to extract learnings and share good practice to inform decision-making and evaluate the impact of interventions.

11.  Ensuring compliance at all times with contract management, procurement and finance procedures.

12.  To be responsible and take reasonable care for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and other employees and the public in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation and company procedures.

 Experience of the health & social care sectors, ideally with experience of influencing priorities and using physical activity as a tool to support wider determinants of health.

Contemporary expert knowledge of national health policy and strategic frameworks i.e. NHS 10 Year Plan.

Can articulate, demonstrate, or evidence the valuable role that physical activity and sport can contribute to health & socio-economic outcomes.

This 21 hours per week role is within our London Borough of Hounslow local service team, reporting to the Local Services Manager, working alongside an experienced team of Dementia Advisers and supported by Volunteers. Volunteer role management is a key responsibility.

You will co-ordinate, organise and facilitate the successful and safe provision of group services delivered in community venues across the borough: Singing for the Brain, Dementia Cafés and a Peer Support Group. 

Our service delivery is both virtual and face to face, with a strong emphasis on community outreach and engagement. We particularly welcome applications from people who are representative of the communities we serve in Hounslow.

This is a home-based role, with frequent travel within the borough. Expenses are paid for travel.

The Aspiring Professionals Programme Coordinator (APPC) role will be well-suited to someone who is focused on the best ways they can help the aims of the charity as well as those of our participants and partners. IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) is a national charity providing free and independent legally-based information, advice, and casework support to help children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) get the education they are entitled to by law. We also deliver training to parents, carers, and professionals to improve understanding of the SEND legal framework.

With the Government expected to publish a White Paper that could significantly alter the SEND legal landscape, IPSEA is undertaking two major campaigns: one to protect existing legal rights, and another to make SEN Support a legal requirement.

IPSEA is co-leading the Save Our Children’s Rights (SOCR) campaign alongside Special Needs Jungle, Learning Disability Today, SEND National Crisis, SOS!SEN, SEND Rights Alliance and others committed to defending children's rights. This campaign was launched in response to reports that the government is considering reforms that could weaken the legal rights of children and young people with SEND; particularly the right to an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan in mainstream schools. It calls on the Government to retain the current legal framework, ensure the SEND system is properly funded and accountable, and avoid any rollback of statutory protections.

In parallel, IPSEA is working in partnership with the charity Contact to advocate for placing SEN Support on a statutory footing. Currently, schools have limited legal obligations to support pupils with SEN who do not have an EHC plan.

This campaign seeks to establish stronger, enforceable duties on schools to provide SEN support, alongside increased investment, so that more children can have their needs met without requiring an EHC plan

Consequently, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Campaigns Manager to coordinate this work - working with our IPSEA teams, amplifying our voice, and supporting our fundraising efforts during this critical period. The Campaigns Manager will play a key role in driving forward this initiative, engaging stakeholders, mobilising public support, and influencing policy outcomes.

Who are we looking for?

You’ll need substantial experience in planning and delivering successful high-profile campaigns, managing campaign budgets and evaluating impact. With strong project management skills, you’ll be able to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines. You’ll also have an in-depth understanding of public affairs, media relations and/or fundraising campaigns in the charity or not-for-profit sector. Using digital tools and platforms for campaigning and supporter engagement, you’ll be able to translate complex issues into accessible messages.

IPSEA should also reflect the communities we support. We are currently looking for an Academic Training and Development Lead at the Francis Crick Institute. In this role you’ll work alongside the Head of Academic Programmes, to design and deliver innovative, inclusive training programmes for our PhD students and postdocs, supporting the next generation of scientific leaders. Leading a small team, you will work closely with colleagues across the Crick and our university partners to ensure our training offer reflects the evolving needs of interdisciplinary research.

From launching new frameworks to enhancing existing programmes, your work will directly support a positive and forward-thinking research culture. This role is ideal for someone with a strong scientific background, experience in researcher development, and a genuine commitment to empowering early-career scientists.

What you will be doing

• Provide support to the Head of Academic Programmes to deliver the Crick PhD and Postdoc programmes
• Design and implement, alongside the Academic Training and Career Development Project Manager, a new Crick Postdoc Development Framework
• Lead, develop, motivate and performance manage the Academic Training and Career Development Project Manager to deliver their objectives
• Identify and consider the development of new science training and researcher development programmes for Crick PhD students and postdocs
• Evaluate Crick science training activities, refining to ensure that they are effective, current and support cutting edge research
• Ensure effective communication and consultation at relevant committees (e.g. Training & Career Development Committee, Postdoc Committee, PhD student committee)
• Scoping and investigating training and development activities provided by the Crick’s partners and other institutions, to identify opportunities for collaboration
• Lead on projects and work with the broader academic training team, the Crick Academy team and the People team, in other areas as required
• Lead on the continuous delivery of Vitae’s Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers at the Crick

What you will bring

(Minimum criteria *)

• Experience of working at a senior level in a dynamic scientific environment and higher education/research setting*
• Proven advanced skills in facilitation and/or teaching in a research or academic setting*
• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the management, training and development of staff in research and technology groups, preferably through experience
• Educated to PhD level and with post-PhD experience in a science discipline, or relevant, significant experience*
• Experience in leading the design and successful delivery of scientific training and development activities*
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of academic and professional colleagues
• Proven ability to work successfully with multiple stakeholders across a complex organisation.

Over the past three years, we’ve bought and scaled swim events, turned others down, failed fast, and doubled our unrestricted income. We want someone who’s up for that kind of journey over the next three years too.

We’re a Founder-led charity working to solve learn-to-swim for disabled children - and we aim to do that in the next ten years.

We’ve grown our impact 5x in the past three years and now raise over £1m in unrestricted income annually through our swim events. The role

We’re all driven, and you’ll need to be too - this is a fast-paced, ambitious environment with lots of learning and change.

We’re looking for a strategic, creative Head of Fundraising to lead our next phase of growth.

Your first focus will be stewarding our 3,000 fundraisers - overseeing segmented email journeys, managing a £40k prizing fund, and improving supporter care through deeper, more personal touchpoints. That might mean calls, events, or just finding ways to help people feel more connected to their impact.

Beyond that, you'll help us develop and test new income streams - from matched giving and regular giving, to sponsorships, repeat fundraising, and post-event conversion. You'll also play a key role in evolving our Challenge Events portfolio across in-person, virtual, and blended formats.

This role requires someone with a strong track record in fundraising growth, a test-and-learn mindset, and the ambition to build something big.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategy Development and Implementation
• Develop and execute a fundraising strategy aligned with the charity's objectives.
• Identify and cultivate new fundraising opportunities to diversify income streams.
• Defining our fundraising growth strategies, specifically around our event series.

Community and Events Fundraising

• Oversee the planning and execution of community fundraising initiatives, specifically with our event fundraisers.
• Engage and mobilise volunteers and supporters for fundraising activities.

Fundraiser Care

• Customer Lifetime value / retention / regular giving.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring effective stewardship.
• Develop and implement donor retention strategies to increase long-term support and regular giving.

Trusts and Foundations

• Working closely with our Head of Programmes to oversee our bids process, working with specialists and utilising learnings from previous years.
• Deepen strong relationships with grant-making bodies and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

Corporate Partnerships

• Manage and develop corporate partnerships and event sponsorships. 
• Develop tailored proposals and pitches to attract corporate support.

Team Leadership

• Lead, inspire, and manage a small fundraising team, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members for both fundraising and marketing.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Track and report on fundraising performance against targets.
• Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team. 

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in a senior fundraising role.
• Proven experience working on fundraising events and event fundraising.
• Demonstrable success in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies.
• Strong track record of securing major gifts, grant funding and/or corporate partnerships.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience in digital fundraising and leveraging social media platforms.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

You are comfortable building relationships across schools including with senior leaders as well as being able getting stuck into the day-to-day delivery to children and young people where needed. This role will enable you to make a real difference to nature’s recovery and to be part of our vision to get 1 in 4 schools taking action for wildlife by 2030.

We have been running a school service for over 30 years engaging young people with the outdoors. We meet with between 2,000 – 3,000 young people, predominantly from primary schools, every year at Lower Smite through our popular outdoor school trips covering key elements of the science curriculum. Everything we do is fun, interactive and hands-on. We embed nature connection pathways into our programmes with a focus on creative and artistic practice. This includes our creative science sessions where we explore classification and evolution through collage and printing.

The role will be focusing on progressing our work around the natural learning journey, develop a model to move schools through the journey and track their progress. At the heart of this is overseeing and helping to deliver core elements of our school offer and working with the Wilder Schools Team and our school partners to develop new programmes and workshops.

Salary: £35,234 – £46,385
