The Role
Theirworld is seeking a proactive and collaborative Manager to support the development, delivery, and learning of education projects and innovation initiatives.
This role will work closely with the Director of Programmes and the wider Projects team to support the design and coordination of pilot projects that test bold, locally driven ideas across Theirworld’s three core pillars: Best Start in Life, A Safe Place to Learn, and Skills for the Future.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in project management and delivery, innovation support, and strong coordination skills. They will work with diverse stakeholders, including community-based organisations, youth leaders, education NGOs, and policy makers to identify promising solutions, facilitate Theirworld’s accelerator programme, and gather insights to inform our broader strategy. The postholder will also contribute to knowledge sharing, event coordination, and organisational learning, helping ensure that new ideas are captured, tested, and amplified.
Main Responsibilities
Project Management
• Lead the planning and delivery of pilot innovative education projects, both internal and external, ensuring alignment with Theirworld’s strategic pillars and cross-cutting vital areas (gender, inclusion, climate, health & nutrition, peace & security).
• Coordinate project timelines, grant delivery, budgeting, reporting cycles, and partner check ins to ensure successful implementation.
• Support the team and local delivery partners with testing and pivoting through ongoing feedback mechanisms to strengthen impact and learning.
• Ensure project documentation, monitoring frameworks, and learning processes are maintained to inform potential scale.
Innovation Management
• Manage the day-to-day coordination and delivery of Theirworld’s Education Innovation Awards, including recruitment, onboarding, programming, and follow up with winning teams.
• Support the development and implementation of innovation focused interventions, tools, and methodologies across programme areas.
• Support in the coordination of internal innovation and contribute to the identification and advancement of high-potential concepts.
• Contribute to mentoring, capacity strengthening, and scale-readiness support for partners and youth-led initiatives.
Community Engagement and Collaboration
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with grassroots innovators, youth-led organisations, and education-focused non-profits.
• Ensure inclusive engagement practices, enabling meaningful participation of local communities, educators, and youth in programme design and delivery.
• Work collaboratively with other Theirworld teams (Campaigns, Communications, Advocacy, Research) to ensure cohesion and integration across programmes.
Learning and Knowledge Sharing
• Document insights, lessons learned, and emerging practices from pilots and projects
• Support the creation of learning reports, and briefs that contribute to Theirworld’s growing body of knowledge.
• Coordinate and support convenings, events, or workshops that engage internal and external stakeholders.
Cross-Team Contribution
• Actively participate in team-wide meetings, strategic planning, and internal initiatives to support programme delivery and organisational learning.
• Engage with our Development and Fundraising team to identify and support the cultivation of potential funders and supporters for the project pipeline
• Provide flexible support to the Director of Programmes and project colleagues on cross-cutting tasks, event coordination, or strategic priorities as needed.
Experience, Skills and Character
• 3–5 years’ experience in project and innovation management, education, or international development.
• Experience supporting or delivering accelerator, innovation, or grant programmes (especially within the non-profit sector).
• Strong interest in education access, inclusion, and the role of innovation in system change.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Good communication skills with strong written and verbal English skills.
• Collaborative team player, with experience working with diverse communities and youth networks.
• Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning, iteration, and experimentation.
• Familiarity with digital learning, edtech, or grassroots innovation is a plus.

About the Role
As our VAWG Service Manager you will be responsible for the management and delivery of The Angelou Centre’s holistic, trauma informed and culturally competent VAWG services for Black and minoritised women and children. You will ensure the smooth and efficient management of our frontline VAWG services for Black and racialised women and children across Northumbria and the North East. You will manage the day-to-day delivery of projects and services, case management as well as managing a caseload of complex cases. You will ensure that all services maintain high safeguarding standards across the organisation, ensuring that we continue to prioritise women and children or their rights remains central to services. As our VAWG Service Manager you will oversee our representation at multi-agency partnership meetings and develop strategic opportunities for the VAWG services. You will work closely with our Safe Accommodation and Refuge team to ensure our residents remain safe and receive a high standard of support.
Our ideal candidate is someone who;
- Has previously worked within the Domestic Abuse and/or VAWG Sector in management positions, with an excellent knowledge of rights-based ending VAWG service delivery and a track record of case management and safeguarding.
- Is interested in working strategically with the Executive Director to develop and maintain external partnerships, that will support the delivery of quality VAWG services and needs based service growth.
- Strong leadership experience to support the development of high-quality advocacy services and an aspirational staff team.
- Someone with a strong practice in rights-based intersectional advocacy management who has a deep understanding of the needs of diverse racialised communities from a Black feminist perspective.

We provide support for 16 customers, we have two sites Hope House (10 bed supported housing) Doddsfield Rd (6 flats independent living with floating support).
Hope House - Support hours 24 hours 7 days per week based on a shift rota pattern - (sleep-ins staff are paid additional to salary advertised).
Doddsfield Rd - Floating support (during working hours)
Team - 1X Contract Manager, 1X Team Leader, 4 Support Workers.
Staff work closely with Slough Community Mental Health Team (SCMHT) we also have a designated Occupational Therapist working along side supporting staff. Customers also attend Hope College which is facilitated via Slough Mental Health Team as part of their recovery process needed in preparation into independent living.
This is a great opportunity for any support worker to gain exceptional experience within the mental health field, based on the solid working relationship with (SCMHT) We have since implemented training directly from SCMHT to support staff with understanding Mental Health diagnosis and Managing Crisis with our customers in-house.

Space Setup and Launch

Context and Background
The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. In order to carry out its charitable work, the NSPCC relies on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 85% of its annual income. Within Fundraising, our aim is to provide maximum resources for the NSPCC and children by working together to create the best possible donor experience by building long-term relationships to create a supporter experience which is different, better and more rewarding than that of supporting any other charity.
The Special Events team focuses on fundraising events as a key part of audience-led fundraising. This department is responsible for supporting volunteer committees in putting on high level fundraising events. Execution needs to be flawless. Attention to detail is paramount, as are the diplomatic skills to help volunteers achieve success. About the team and how this roles fits into the team and department
Job purpose
· To contribute to the Income Generation department’s purpose of maximising income from potential and current supporters through project managing specific events (including securing sponsorship), and providing committee support
· To support in the delivery of the agreed departmental strategy, goals and fundraising budget
· To work effectively with other departments in Income Generation and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children
· To keywork supporters and build excellent relationships with key stakeholders who take responsibility for delivering income through high level fundraising and corporate events
· To ensure our events are delivered to a consistently high standard, and bring in new, innovative ideas so we remain competitive in the sector
Key relationships - Internal
· Reports to Fundraising Manager / Head of Special Events

· Pro-actively works with colleagues in other NSPCC divisions to further relationships and identify and develop opportunities for growth

· Recruiting, managing and building relationships with chairs, committee members and other senior volunteers

Main duties and responsibilities
· To lead and scope out new events and opportunities
· To successfully manage and deliver large-scale events and special projects within the portfolio of events, overseeing all event logistics and relationship management and development of Special Events Managers when working on shared projects
· To lead on specific fundraising projects and large-scale events, and support development of Executives through your projects
· Contribute to and deliver particular aspects of the department’s annual business plan and budget. To support project groups for the Special Events team to improve processes and identify new opportunities
· To manage and develop relationships with senior volunteers and potential supporters through effective and regular communication
· To proactively seek out opportunities to add value to the team and wider organisation
· To develop and create engaging materials for events and stakeholders
· To act as experts in our field by offering support and expertise both internally and externally
· To work cross-departmentally to ensure that fundraising activities are managed and developed in a way that maximises income for the NSPCC through streamlined processes

Person specification
1. Extensive experience and technical knowledge of event and project management, specifically with a track record of successfully delivering and growing large scale events
2. Excellent ability to establish, develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior level individuals to achieve desired outcomes

Purpose of the role
The Community Centre Manager will play a key role in the leadership and smooth running of the Community Centre managing change, growth and performance as agreed with the Board of Trustees.
Working closely with the trustees, employees, consultants, contractors, volunteers and other local organisations, the Manager will work to ensure the Community Centre is a vibrant, well-managed facility that operates within a sustainable framework for the benefit of local residents and organisations. Principle duties and responsibilities
Management of the Community Centre
Manage the operations of the Community Centre and its staff and the development and delivery of activities and facilities in line with the business and strategic plan. Ensure compliance with employment law and that we follow good practice with regard to HR.
Contribute to the planning, development, implementation and delivery of the business and strategic plan and present regular progress updates to the Board.
Oversee the maintenance of the building - including building maintenance and improvement programmes.
Lead on and contribute to identifying and apply for funding from local and national organisations. Role will also lead on ensuring aims are met and reporting of outcomes to funding organisation.
Manage and monitor all aspects of risk assessments, health and safety and security as required by regulation or good practice including, in conjunction with the Trustees, the review and updating of policies and procedure.

Lead on General Data Protection Regulation and Safeguarding, maintaining records to ensure the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
Ensure programme of activities delivered within the Park Centre align with the charitable aims of the organisation and ensure that it is relevant to local community, responding to needs and raising the profile of the Centre.
Management of staff and Volunteers

Ensure effective management of HR including recruitment, supervision and development of employees and volunteers, including carrying out DBS checks as necessary.

Positively represent the Centre and the community at partner and other meetings/events to raise the profile of the Community Centre and to ensure the views and needs of the community are prioritised and included.
Continue to strengthen the reputation of the Community Centre by giving maximum visibility to its activities and achievements.
Ensure through listening to the community, monitoring and evaluating provision and adapting the service, the Centre meets the needs of the local community.
Prepare reports for and attend all Board and annual general meetings.
PR/Marketing and Fundraising
Oversee the development and implementation of an income generation & marketing strategy.
Develop strategies to promote the use and profile of the Community Centre, maximising use of social media, publicity opportunities and liaison with the local media.
Identify and secure new funding through grant applications and other means.
Continue maintaining and developing positive relationships with funders, both grant makers, sponsors and individuals.
Financial management
Liaise with the treasurer and accountant in setting and managing budgets and maintain an overview of the financial position of the Community Centre.
Code invoices to ensure that income and expenditure is allocated to correct projects.
Ensure completion of reports/returns to statutory bodies and funders and compilation of grant applications.
Ensure best practice in all financial matters.
Project Management
Support and oversee the continued delivery of high-quality services and activities.
Ensure all project leads are liaised with regularly to ensure compliance with objectives and outcomes.
Devise and implement robust impact monitoring and evaluation strategies for all projects.
Ensure all projects are correctly risk assessed and supported.
The Park Centre Kingswood has a small team of employees, contractors, volunteers and a wide range of activities. it is expected that the post holder will be flexible in assisting in areas of work which go beyond their main duties. In particular, the holder of this post will be expected to assist with covering frontline reception and administrative duties and attendance at and/or supervision of events outside of normal working hours.
