We are looking for an enthusiastic events assistant to join the team in our exciting new community space! Plateful Cafe is a recently established charity that seeks to help refugees in the surrounding area into employment within the food and hospitality sector. 

We have opened a community cafe selling delicious Middle Eastern food! Our cafe is staffed by people with refugee status and experiences of forced migration who are being trained to work the food industry, as well as dedicated volunteers like you. We will be running regular community events and fundraisers for which we need a team of events assistants to help plan and run. 

If you are passionate about being part of a community that celebrates a diversity of cultures and delicious food, this is your opportunity to make a difference and join us on our exciting journey with Plateful Cafe.

The role:

- Help organise monthly community dinners featuring three course meals from around the globe to enable the charity to engage with and attract donors.

- Help with running the dinner on the daywith tasks including welcoming the guests, serving food and drinks, take payments, setting up and clearing, etc.

- In a team plan and organise other events and fundraisers throughout the year, for example refugee week.

- Work with the marketing volunteers, providing details of upcoming events for promotion; take pictures and quotes at the event.

Skills & Requirements:

• Prior experience of events planning and organisation
• A passion and keenness to engage in community-based work to support refugees and serve the local community
• Good organisation skills including: effective time management, punctuality and delegation of tasks.
• A flexible and proactive attitude to working

• Practical skills to help prepare and set-up the café for events
• Able to work well in a team and communicate effectively with the rest of the staff and visitors of the cafe

We are looking for a passionate and creative Social Media & Marketing Volunteer to support our digital presence, raise awareness, and engage with our audience across various platforms. The Confidence Academy exists to make the tools of confidence-building — through improved nutrition, better mental and physical fitness, and community support — accessible to all, particularly to struggling and marginalised communities who often feel invisible or left behind. Health inequality is one of the biggest injustice of them all that we don't talk about yet our health is the sole foundation of our existence. 

Who Created The Confidence Academy: The Academy is founded by a 37 year old refugee from Bangladesh, Rayhana Sultan. She is an ex-prisoner. This social enterprise was created after she was able to rebuild her life after prison, hospital detention and recovery through psychotherapy and a supportive community. She is now a finance manager working for the local government in the UK. Outside her day job, she is a model, a panel advisor for the charity Working Chance and now through the Confidence Academy, she wants other people to find the inspiration to turn their pain into power, stigma into strength. 

The inception of this CIC is driven by the fact that nearly 60% of the UK population in 2023/24 were reported as obese or overweight. This is a national crisis in a context where our healthcare system is overstretched, support for mental health is not on par which can be exacerbated by health-related problems and an ageing population is awaiting us. Growing old or not being able to afford the regular gym in an era should not mean fitness services are inaccessible to you. So we are here to change it. 

What's happening Next: We will begin rolling out weekend fitness and wellbeing activities shortly after New Year 2026, supported by online seminars, podcast-style discussions, and community “vox pop” features that amplify real voices and lived experiences around health, confidence, and inclusion. These activities will include group exercise sessions, nutrition and wellness education, mindset and resilience workshops, and confidence-building programmes designed to enhance both physical and mental wellbeing.

Purpose of the Role:
You will be the voice and bridge of The Confidence Academy — handling communications with councils, gyms, venues, and contractors. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for community wellbeing. You’ll work closely with other team members to bring creative and operational goals together.

Main Activities:

1. Communicate with local councils to secure community venues and spaces.

2. Contact gyms, instructors, and contractors to arrange hire of equipment and facilities.

3. Assist with email correspondence, partnership inquiries, and event logistics.

4. Maintain a contact log and follow up with potential partners or sponsors.

5. Work closely with other team members to align content and communication schedules.

Role Overview – Treasurer (Volunteer Position)

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Treasurer to oversee the financial health of Children with Voices and help strengthen our financial systems. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a grassroots charity working to empower children and families. Time commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours per month, flexible around your availability. Location: Remote with occasional in-person meetings (London-based preferred but not essential).

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee the financial affairs of Children with Voices, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

· Ensure accurate financial records are maintained and effective financial procedures are in place.

· Monitor and report regularly on the organisation’s financial position.

· Prepare financial reports, budgets, cash flow statements, and annual accounts in collaboration with the Chair and Trustees.

St George’s Hospital Charity is currently seeking a Chair of Trustees to join the charity at a crucial time, as we seek to implement our newly agreed-upon, ambitious growth strategy.

The Chair provides leadership to the Board, with primary responsibility for ensuring it has agreed-upon priorities, appropriate structures, processes, and a collaborative, productive culture. The Chair also acts as a key ambassador for the Charity, working closely with the Charity CEO and other stakeholders.

Our new Chair will start in the role on 1 April 2026. Time commitment will be around 2 days a month.

About the role

The new Chair will support and empower the executive team and Board members through the next phase of the Charity’s development. Partnership with the NHS Trust, City St George’s, University of London and the community of current and potential supporters and beneficiaries is vital, and the new Chair and Board will work with the Executive Team to enhance these.

St George’s Hospital Charity already makes a vital difference, but growing its value, reputation and impact further is key. To grow as a Charity, fundraising and diversifying and enhancing income-generating streams will be crucial over the next few terms of the Board. These are areas that the new Chair must be motivated to champion in line with the Charity’s potential and ambitions.

We are looking for an individual with:

• Significant chairing experience across sectors and good Charity governance knowledge. Gravitas, diplomacy and the ability to chair a meeting well and galvanise an effective Board Team are required key attributes.
• Experience of being an ambassador and/or senior representative of a significant organisation.
• Commercial growth skills and mindset to empower the expansion and diversification of the Charity financially.
• Understanding of the NHS/healthcare and/or the impact of health challenges.
• Passion for the ambitions of St George’s Hospital Charity and local community engagement.
• Appreciation of EDI and diversity of thought at the Board.
• Ability to give 2 days per month and to lean in more when needed.

We also seek someone with an appreciation for the needs of the local community that the charity serves, as well as an understanding of the socioeconomic and health challenges they face. Our beneficiaries come from diverse backgrounds, and we are committed to continually enhancing our knowledge of their needs across the charity and through the Board.

Causeway’s four crime reduction services provide crime and violence reduction programmes for those committed to breaking their cycle of criminality. Our trauma-informed approach to supporting those who commit crime has proved successful in reducing rates of reoffending, which not only benefits the individuals involved, but reduces the number of victims and creates a safer society for all.

Our trustees bring strategic oversight and direction; to ensure Causeway is true to its purpose and effective in its strategic objectives, whilst ensuring all governance responsibilities are fulfilled. They champion the people we support, promote the charity and its work and bring expertise to purposefully develop Causeway and its impact.

Who are we looking for? 

Causeway are looking to recruit a Treasurer to the Board who is willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and support the strategic growth of the charity. We are particularly looking for our Treasurer to have:

• A relevant accounting qualification.

• Experience of charity accounting and relevant accounting standards.

• Ability to maintain overview of the financial affairs of the charity, ensuring its viability and proper financial records and procedures.

• A confident networker who will bring relevant connections and facilitate introductions for the benefit the charity.

• Experience in working with a Charity Board and subcommittees.

• Someone with at a minimum of two years governance experience

It is important that trustees reflect our geographical reach in the North, and that we have diversity of knowledge, experience and background on the trustee board.
