Main Purpose of the Job
The Digital Enabler will work with the District Leadership Team and the Communications Officer to build the digital communications capacity of the District at every level, to facilitate effective participation by all members in the life of the church in the North West District, and to make use of new opportunities for mission and community-building in the digital sphere.
Key Responsibilities
1.Ensure that the District leadership is able to fulfil its responsibilities by ensuring there are reliable digital platforms for online, live-streamed and recorded meetings and events, for electronic dissemination of information (via web, social media and mailings), and audio and video recording and sharing..
2.Enable all members of churches in the District to have the opportunity for participation in District forums and events, and to receive information from their District and Circuits.
3.Co-operate with District and Circuit leaders, ministers and pioneers in the development of new forms of mission and church communities using a range of digital resources.
Key Tasks
Training and Support
1.Create a digital strategy for the District, identifying the essential resources and support needed to enable full participation at every level, and the opportunities for missional work in the online world.
2.Support the administration and governance of the District by facilitating online synods, committees and consultations.
3.Build a network of “digital champions” within Circuits and provide advice and support for local training and capacity building.
4.Devise and deliver online training courses for Circuits and churches.
5.Develop a “Digital Community of Practice” across the District, and linking where appropriate across the Connexion, which will envisage and create new ways of being and growing church in the digital age.
6.Work with safeguarding officers to raise awareness of digital safeguarding issues, and create usable information and guidelines for Circuits and churches.
Facilities and Resources
1.Work with the Communications Officer in building and maintaining the District’s online presence, including the website and social media.
2.Develop a range of digital tools and resources for the use of the District and its Circuits, and assist in their implementation. (These could include servicing local website and social media initiatives, plan-making and emailing applications.)
3.Collect and disseminate information on digital specialists in the District who can serve Circuits and churches. (This could include graphic designers, web and database programmers, audio-visual and streaming experts and others.)
Events and Online Communities
1.Provide technical support for online and live-streamed District events, including advertising, registration and ticketing, online and streaming facilities.
2.Work with the Mission Area Leads, Circuits and pioneers in implementing digital services, online communities and missional initiatives.
Personal Training and Growth
1.Maintain an awareness of changes in digital applications and resources, and consider how they can be used in the District.
2.Identify opportunities to expand knowledge and understanding, including by appropriate courses.
3.Reflect theologically on issues around faith in the digital world, and the opportunities for sharing the gospel by these means.

Job Purpose
As the Head of Fundraising, your primary responsibility is to lead the strategic direction and execution of Village Water’s fundraising efforts, with a focus on diversifying income streams and maximising revenue generation. You will oversee all fundraising activities, particularly in Trusts and Foundations (both UK and International), corporate partnerships, High Value Donors, and statutory bodies. Your role involves crafting compelling funding applications and reports, creating an ambitious fundraising strategy, applying for and securing large multi-year grants from new and existing donors, ensuring exemplary donor stewardship, and fostering collaboration across teams to achieve fundraising goals.
Responsibilities
• Develop and refine a comprehensive fundraising strategy, with a specific emphasis on Trusts and Foundations & corporate fundraising, to ensure a steady pipeline of funding opportunities. Coordinate with team members to meet fundraising targets effectively and manage donation pipelines working with CEO and Finance manager to ensure the pipeline matches the cashflow.
• Directly oversee and support your team members, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching to ensure both individual and team objectives are achieved. (currently the team is 3)
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential donors, including Trusts, Foundations, Corporates and Statutory bodies, through proactive engagement and personalized stewardship.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to develop persuasive proposals and impactful reports that effectively communicate Village Water’s mission and achievements.
• Plan and implement annual fundraising campaigns.
• Work closely with monitoring and finance teams to accurately assess impact and budgetary needs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to donors.
• Maintain accurate donor records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations within Village Water’s database.
General
• Foster a collaborative work environment by engaging with staff, volunteers, suppliers, and local partners.
• Actively participate in networking events to expand Village Water’s connections and fundraising opportunities.
• Provide regular updates at team meetings and Trustee meetings as required.
• Offer support for other fundraising activities as needed, promoting a culture of teamwork and shared success.
• Uphold the organisation’s safeguarding policies by undergoing necessary training and fulfilling safeguarding responsibilities.
Skills and Experience
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members toward achieving fundraising goals. Provide clear direction, set expectations, and foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Support the professional growth and development of team members through coaching, training, and mentoring. Provide opportunities for skill-building and advancement within the fundraising field.
• Proven track record in securing funds from Trusts and Foundations, Corporates and Statutory, including large awards.
• Experience in securing multi-year grant support, including both restricted and unrestricted funding.
• Familiarity with complex application and reporting processes.
• Strong donor stewardship skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain successful relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of crafting compelling cases for support and presenting Village Water’s work effectively.
• Proficiency in financial management and budget analysis.
• Familiarity with relevant software and databases, including Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce or similar.

The Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.
The Regional Fundraising Officer role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the Kent and Sussex region.
You will report to the Community Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Regional Fundraising to drive the continued growth of the charity’s community fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, to cover a period of maternity leave.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Strategy, finance, and reporting
· Responsibility for 3 income streams within the Kent and Sussex region including corporate, community groups and Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising.
· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with partnerships in your region with a value of up to £100,000.
· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, following fundraising legislation and good practice.
· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.
· Support the Community Fundraising Manager (CFM) and Head of Regional Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Community Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.
· Support and extend volunteer networks within the geographical area in line with strategy.
· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across the geographical area.
· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload cost-effectively and proactively.
Supporter Management
· Provide excellent customer service to community fundraising supporters (including maintaining a polite, enthusiastic manner with prompt responses to enquiries), to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.
· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.
· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.
· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.
· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, provide high-quality account management to corporate supporters within the specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.
· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.
· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.
Increasing Community Support within geographical area
· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within the geographical area, in line with strategy.
· Run volunteer events with both a recruitment and cultivation function, liaising closely with the Stewardship and Events team to ensure a seamless supporter journey, and with the Press team to include media volunteers.
· Manage the recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in the geographical area, providing relevant support and training.
· Liaise with local community organisations (e.g., golf clubs, educational institutions etc.) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with the strategy.
· Initiate and roll out community fundraising events in the geographical area with evidence of effective ROI and achievement of strategic goals.
· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.
· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community (for example, for cheque collections and talks), spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.
· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with CFM.
· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with CFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with both community and corporate strategies.
· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.
Monitoring and Reporting
· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Community Fundraising Manager.
· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.
What we are looking for:
· Experience in partnership fundraising and/or relationship-building.
· Experience in public speaking, such as giving presentations and talking at events.
· Knowledge of recruiting key volunteers and fundraising supporters.
· Experience and a keen interest in building long-term relationships with supporters.
· Proven ability to provide excellent stewardship.

We are seeking an experienced interim Direct Marketing Manager to join our membership marketing team to work on the Big Garden Birdwatch and membership acquisition campaigns from August 2024 to Jan 2025. This is a full time role.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate past experience of planning, proofing and fulfilment of multiple printed direct mail packs, response forms and emails. Ideally you will also have worked with inbound telemarketing teams and within a charity fundraising environment.
In return you will get to apply your skills to a high-profile national engagement and fundraising campaign. And be part of something amazing to support the conservation of birds and nature. You will be working as part of a very small direct marketing team within a wider, cross-functional project, with tight deadlines, targets and multiple approval processes.
We are looking for an experienced pair of hands in direct marketing – especially high volume print direct mail, forms, and email marketing to hit income targets.
Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Proven experience of planning and delivering end to end multi-channel direct marketing campaigns, working with in house teams and agencies.
- Degree educated or equivalent CIM/IDM qualification, and experience in a direct marketing role
- Very high level of attention to detail
- Knowledge and understanding of direct marketing and fundraising compliance and best practice
- Strong creative understanding, and able to assess the measures that will maximise response rates

Senior Fundraiser
Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (UK charity number 1146220)
Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (FIGS), was established in 2011 in response to a specific request from local community leaders to help them build and develop a girls’ residential school in South Sudan. Ibba Girls Boarding School (IGBS) now educates 360 primary and secondary school girls from across the whole of Western Equatoria State and employs 40 staff (teachers, matrons, cooks and other support staff). The school is on a large, green campus and provides not only high-quality teaching but a visible demonstration of the benefits of school education in South Sudan, where most girls leave school before the end of primary and very few achieve secondary qualifications. FIGS is a relatively small organization but it is making a substantial impact by providing a model of good quality girls’ schooling across South Sudan.
FIGS has achieved notable successes – the school which opened in 2014, initially with 40 girls, has now reached its full size of 360 girls, with excellent exam results and has reduced dropout from school. It is nurturing empowered women who can exercise leadership locally and nationally for this newly independent nation. FIGS works closely with the experienced and widely-acclaimed Windle Trust International, who provide technical financial and organizational support to the school in South Sudan.
FIGS has raised about £4 million over the last 10 years, particularly through relational fundraising. Running costs for a boarding school in South Sudan are around £ 1/3 million each year, so fundraising is a key task for FIGS.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced fundraiser with a strong and demonstrable track record to play a crucial role in expanding the donor base of FIGS, while sustaining and engaging the large network of existing supporters and donors. You will lead the fundraising work and will use your skills across a wide range of fundraising functions, including expanding the number and range of individuals, corporates, philanthropists, schools, churches, legacies and trusts.
We need the help of a talented individual to implement FIGS’ fundraising strategy and action plan, working with those Trustees who are able to give some time to fundraising and with solid help from a part-time fundraising consultant. There is plenty to enjoy in the varied work, where one can see visible results in the impact it has on the school, its students and staff, parents and communities across Western Equatoria State and across the nation of South Sudan.
The post can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis (where part-time is at least 3 days a week). It will be on a self-employed consultancy basis. Hours can be flexible by arrangement. The person will work mainly from home, liaising online with Trustees and others, but some travel to events in London and elsewhere will be needed on an occasional basis. We are looking for someone to start as soon as mutually convenient. A contract will be one year in the first instance, and can be renewed subject to satisfactory performance. The remuneration as a self-employed person is in the range of £35-42K dependent on track record and experience (or pro rata).
Key responsibilities
· To support the delivery of the fundraising plan, achieving or exceeding targets and KPIs, both financial and non-financial as agreed with the Chair of FIGS Trustees and Chair of its fundraising group.
· To identify and generate new fundraising opportunities, from the corporate and philanthropic sectors, as well as from organizations, groups and individuals
· To widen the existing network of donors, based on relationship development and management and engagement with existing supporters and donors, and creating new opportunities
· To generate a pipeline of activities across a range of fund-raising streams
· Develop strong relationships with all external stakeholders.
· Produce progress reports for FIGS Trustees about fundraising in relation to targets and budget and make recommendations for future streams of work.
· Attend key fundraising and supporter events to generate significant income, support and profile.
· Be an ambassador for FIGS.
· Ensure fundraising activities are in line with FIGS’ values and policies, relevant legislation and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice.

The Funding and Programmes Manager will support members and the wider advice sector to access and secure grant and other funding directly with the purpose of sustaining advice services. Key responsibilities

Reporting to Op NOVA East England Regional Manager. The successful candidate will have experience in managing and supporting a caseload of vulnerable veterans in your allocated region.
This position is full-time, 35 hours per week with a salary of £28,325. The successful candidate will be based at home with regular travel within the region, (Kent & Sussex). This role consists of managing and supporting caseloads of vulnerable veterans in your allocated region.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Contact all clients within 48 hours of allocation
- Undertake face to face needs assessments and develop support plan within 5 days of allocation
- Provide peer support and practical experience to colleagues and clients

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations Officer preferably from the North of England to join the fundraising team at the Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA).
The BDFA is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation, which has grown to offer additional support services for families affected by Batten disease and to implementing a long-term strategy to develop its advocacy, education and research capabilities. We’re looking for an individual who has the experience and skills to manage and nurture relationships with our existing funders from charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies, ensuring they feel inspired by our work and the patients and families we support.
The role will incorporate managing a sizeable portfolio of Trusts and Foundations through excellent stewardship, and to build on this strong foundation, developing and submitting winning funding proposals to create a high-quality pipeline of new funding opportunities. The successful candidate will work as part of the Fundraising team, under the guidance of our Chief Executive Officer to continue our strategy to diversify income through this key funding stream.
The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:
- Experience and a proven track record of successful Trusts and Foundations income generation.
- Demonstratable experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.
- A background in report writing and demonstrating grant impact whilst being able to build relationships with funders and individual/major donors.
- Experience of providing excellent supporter care and building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders.
- Experience of targeting large grant-making bodies and securing 5-6 figure grants
- Expert knowledge of fundraising landscape, particularly Trusts & Foundations.
This job requires a motivated individual who has a passion for all those within our Batten community and a strong desire to support the development and financial growth of the BDFA. The role is full time (35 hours per week) and is home based with occasional travel to Yorkshire (where the CEO is based) and around the UK to meet donors and support fundraising events.

Salary £26k - £30k PA dependent on experience
