CFAB supports children on the move between the UK and other countries and children who are separated from their family in another country. The complexities of migration and international separation can make many of these children particularly hard to support and particularly vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. We ensure that children in these circumstances enjoy the same care, protection and right to a family life as we would want for any child.

We are the only UK representative of the International Social Service network, and the only charity in the UK with a dedicated international social work team. We are proud to have royal patronage from HRH, Princess Alexandra.

You will lead CFAB’s programme of campaigns, research and advocacy. You will raise awareness of our work to protect children who are separated from their families across international borders by developing key relationships with Government departments, drafting policy briefings, developing campaigns and leading on our public affairs work. You also will produce newsletters, create compelling content for our social media channels, maintain our website and promote our campaigns to key stakeholders.

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative individual who has excellent written skills and is positive, proactive and eager to learn. You will be working in a small team so a hand-on, solution focused approach is a must.

Key responsibilities:

Policy

• Draft policy positions, briefings and internal and external reports as appropriate.
• Identify and cultivate parliamentary and ministerial contacts sympathetic to our cause.
• Monitor Parliamentary inquiries, Bills, debates, parliamentary questions, and government consultations and draft submissions in a timely manner.
• Monitor and analyse government statistics.
• Work with Experts by Experience to shape advocacy and amplify the voices of those with lived experience of our work.

Campaigns & Communication

• Lead on developing our public-facing campaigns, tailoring our key messages for different audiences and identifying ways to push forward our issues through presentations, meetings, social media and other channels.
• Lead on our Public Relations work, maintaining our database and relations with relevant media, trade press and sector leads to raise awareness of our work and our policy campaigns.
• Write and produce CFAB's digital newsletters.
• Produce and track the efficacy of email marketing campaigns.
• Responsibly use digital and AI tools to enhance communication strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational values and safeguarding data privacy and integrity.

Marketing

• Contribute to the updating and maintenance of CFAB’s website as required.
• Design and produce other marketing materials as needed.

Social media

• Manage all activity on our social media channels including the creation of posts, videos and images and ad hoc engagement.
• Track online engagement with CFAB and regularly monitor performance to enable an effective assessment of our communication tools and outputs.

Essential:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Variety is looking for a Social Media Officer to join our Fundraising and Marketing team. Reporting to the PR and Communications Manager, the role will be vital in positioning Variety as a highly impactful charity and supporting our mission to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

You will be responsible for creatively growing our social media channels to increase engagement and reach new audiences. This includes content planning and ensuring our channels reflect Variety’s campaigns, programmes and brand. You’ll lead on community management and play a key role in developing and maintaining the charity’s content library.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help create integrated social media plans and support live coverage from our wide range of fundraising and cause-led events. You’ll have opportunities to attend events and work directly with the children and families we support, helping to bring their stories to life.

Highly organised and creative, you will be confident in adapting content for different channels, ensuring it is delivered in the right format, tone and style for each audience.

You will be working with a supportive and knowledgeable team who regularly work from our vibrant office in the heart of Camden, London.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Manage social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) and engage with audiences, including Variety ambassadors.

● Keep the social media schedule up to date (using Hootsuite) with consistent posting and avoiding clashes by planning in advance.

● Create engaging content that aligns with our overall mission by interviewing beneficiaries, creating graphics on Canva and filming reels and videos.

● Ensure social media content is child-centric and accessible.

● Attend events to capture social media content (these will always be pre-agreed in advance).

● Undertake analysis of social media outputs to ensure content is engaging and effective and then shape future content based on learnings.

● Community management of our social media channels, responding to posts and engaging with followers.

● Keep up to date with the industry by horizon scanning the charity sector and social media generally for the latest trends.

● Support the PR and Communications Manager as needed.

● Participate in staff meetings, fundraising team meetings and contribute to the success of Variety’s fundraising and communications strategy.

Purpose of the job

This role is responsible for the design of UK Youth’s support to young people, youth organisations and youth workers. This could include structured youth work programmes, funding and grants+ programmes, professional development programmes, and campaigns.

You will lead and oversee end-to-end design processes, ensuring that UK Youth develops fully packaged offers that respond to the evidence base and people’s needs, drive forward our strategy and achieve incredible impact. The Director of Operations is a member of the Senior Management Team. The Role

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving organisational impact? We're looking for an experienced professional to join us as Head of Strategy Implementation (Interim). This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering our current Strategy and Theory of Change, ensuring momentum and alignment across the charity.

This role is fixed term until September 2026, working 29 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to attend meetings at least once a week as needed in central London and to attend meetings in other locations across the UK with reasonable notice.

What you'll do:

The Role

BASIC is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead our finance function during a period of sustained growth. The Financial Controller will work across Programme teams ensuring strong financial management and reporting to funding partners, maintain strong financial controls, ensure compliance with charity finance regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting to our Directors and Board of Trustees.

The Financial Controller will oversee the small finance team, including line management of a Finance Assistant and management of an external bookkeeper consultant. This team will be responsible for the majority of financial accounting, processing payroll, and accurate bookkeeping, for which the Financial Controller will be ultimately accountable.

The role includes managing restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with funder requirements and programme needs, preparing statutory accounts for external audit, and overseeing payroll processing. This role reports directly to the Executive Director to prepare annual budgets and financial strategy, and works closely with the Board's Financial Development Committee to present its implementation.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills, experience in charity finance, and a proven track record of effective financial management of a growing organisation. You should be comfortable both managing a small team and working hands-on when needed, building collaborative relationships across the organisation. You will need to be a multitasker with the ability to work at pace, and be willing to develop the finance function and best practices to enable the organisation to grow further.
