Coempowered is a small but rapidly developing non-profit working to empower indiviuals and help build community capacity among for young people, women, and marginalised communities in the UK and internationally through workshops, classes, semiar, projects and research. 

We currently have two trustees and are seeking a third trustee who can bring valuable expertise in fundraising, chairing, or education to help guide our next phase of development.

About the Opportunity
This is a formative moment for Coempowered. As a small and growing organisation, we are establishing the structures, policies, and long-term strategies necessary for sustainable impact. Our trustees play a crucial role in this process, working closely with the directors to oversee governance, support planning, and position the organisation to apply for grants and build partnerships.

We are looking for a committed individual who is passionate about our mission and willing to contribute actively to shaping Coempowered’s direction. Trustees are expected to bring strategic insight, uphold strong governance, and collaborate constructively with the board.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to governance and strategic oversight as we prepare for charity registration.

• Support planning for organisational growth, including funding pathways and programme development.

• Provide leadership or guidance in one or more key areas:

  • Fundraising: helping to develop a sustainable funding strategy and support early grant applications.

  • Chairing and governance: contributing to board leadership, decision-making, and policy development.

  • Education: advising on programme design, partnerships, quality assurance, or public engagement.

• Participate in quarterly board meetings and occasional working groups.

• Act as an ambassador for Coempowered, upholding our values of inclusion, critical inquiry, and empowerment.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in fundraising, charity governance, board leadership, or the education sector.

• A strategic and reflective mindset, with confidence in contributing to decision-making.

• Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine interest in developing a growing non-profit.

• Willingness to commit long-term and help build the organisation collaboratively with the existing trustees and directors.

Time Commitment
Approximately 6-8 hours per month, remote, with quarterly board meetings.

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Website Designer to help us transition our current website onto the Hostinger website builder platform and significantly enhance its visibility through effective SEO strategies. This role is ideal for someone with experience in web design who would like to support a thriving community arts organisation and contribute to increasing our reach and impact.

You’ll work both independently and collaboratively with our team, ensuring the website aligns visually and strategically with our brand, communications, and accessibility goals.

We will consider applicants who wish to hold a temporary position (12 weeks minimum).

Key Responsibilities:

• Rebuild and restructure our existing website using the Hostinger website builder

• Improve site navigation, layout, page structure, and user experience

• Optimise all pages for SEO performance, including keywords, metadata, and search visibility

• Ensure mobile optimisation and fast loading performance

• Integrate analytics tools to monitor site traffic and user engagement

• Coordinate with our PR and social media teams so the site aligns with ongoing campaigns and messaging

• Provide basic training or guidance to team members on how to edit/update the site post-build

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience with IONOS website building tools (or similar drag-and-drop platforms)

• Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices

• Good eye for layout, typography, and visual consistency

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Interest in arts, culture, inclusivity, or community-driven organisations is a plus

Time Commitment:

• During the initial build/transition period: approx. 10–15 hours per week (negotiable)

• Once the site is established: potentially 2–4 hours a week for maintenance / updates

• Remote role — however applicants in the Southwest of England are welcome to be more involved in our activities if desired

About the Opportunity
This role is central to Coempowered’s next stage of development. We are positioning ourselves to apply for our first grants, develop partnerships, and build sustainable funding streams. We are looking for someone who can take initiative, collaborate closely with the directors, and contribute strategically to our fundraising capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to make a tangible difference in a small organisation and to help shape its future.

Key Deliverables

• Research suitable grant opportunities and funding sources.

• Assist in preparing core organisational documents, including:

  • Activity reports

  • Business plans

  • Project proposals and bids

• Write compelling grant applications tailored to funders’ criteria.

• Prepare outreach materials, donor communications, and mailshots.

• Use direct mailing and other methods to engage potential and existing donors.

• Support the recruitment, coordination, and management of volunteers involved in fundraising activities.

• Ensure smooth execution of all tasks related to fundraising, documentation, and relationship-building.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or partnership development (professional or voluntary).

• Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive proposals.

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Self-motivation and reliability, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
