Overall Purpose

• To provide support and care to the young people who are newly arrived in the country, providing the foundations for them to rebuild their lives with dignity, strengthen their resilience and inspire hope for their futures.
• To partner with social workers and representatives from other agencies, for the benefit of the young people.

This work is essential in enabling us to deliver our therapeutic support for all areas of a young person’s life.

Duties & Responsibilities

• To be a Support Worker for newly arrived young people who are in the care of Baca in all areas of the young person’s life, supporting them from first arrival through to their move to semi-independence.
• To welcome new arrivals into the accommodation and communicate basic information about the house, making them feel safe and able to rest; with compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
• To enable young people to achieve the following outcomes increased physical wellbeing, increased emotional wellbeing, improved personal safety, increased social engagement and increased engagement with education, employment and training.
• To enable young people to live with positive values and good boundaries.
• To be a proactive role model for the young people, enabling them to learn day to day living skills and helping them integrate positively with the local community.
• Training young people in living skills such as washing, cleaning, cooking and safety, food shopping and budgeting; proactively and intentionally in line with the Baca independent living preparation plan.
• Helping young people settle into a routine which will include education and social activities.
• Work in close partnership with social workers and other professionals and volunteers to provide a holistic development package for each young person enabling them to become independent.
• Maintaining very good communication with relevant members of the Rebuild Team and relevant social workers through regular appropriate reporting.
• To work collaboratively with the rest of the Rebuild Team to ensure all young people are safeguarded and supported to rebuild their lives.
• Complete and update all admin work as part of the role such as month end reports and support plans on time and in a consistent manner.
• Playing an active role in developing knowledge and understanding in areas relevant to the role and especially in the areas of asylum and refugee law, trafficking, supporting separated children and the cultures of different nations relevant to Baca.

Personal Specification

Baca is looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about seeing young refugees achieving their potential and rebuilding their lives for a better future. The successful applicant will have a personal style that is in line with Baca’s vision and values. They will live in the new arrival house and make it their home. They will be a good self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire our young people to be the best they can be. 

The successful applicant will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care. They will be very approachable, enjoy working as part of a wider team but also able to manage their own time and workload. Someone who is supportive, responsible, reliable, personable and willing to set boundaries in line with Baca’s values.

This is a frontline role that will need the successful applicant to be working closely with young people in their houses and will need access to transport young people to different appointments, meetings and activities.

Refettorio Felix is an innovative charity providing a restaurant quality 3 course meal freshly made entirely from surplus food in our beautiful space, for free, to vulnerable and economically insecure adults. It also offers wrap around care and support in areas such as housing, mental health and employment. 

We offer our services Monday to Friday during the day. At night and at the weekends the space is for hire as an event venue for weddings, parties and corporate events. 

The role is made up of three major components:

1. Focus on the delivery of the commercial events, being heavily involved in all aspects from marketing through to handling enquiries,  and then managing the client relationship and their event to conclusion. 

2. To organise fundraising events in the space. 

3. To assist with the marketing of the charity in general, including the day to day management of the social media channels. 

You should have some knowledge and interest in web sites, an interest in food would be an advantage. Specific experience in a similar role professionally is not essential, your knowledge could have come through voluntary activities, hobbies, university clubs or elements picked up through part time jobs. The essential qualities for this role are being highly organised, highly creative and passionate about the charities mission. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

· Create and deliver fundraising events in the venue.

· Operate the commercial events office on a daily basis - this includes but is not exclusive to: - managing new clients; receiving inbound enquiries: conducting site visits and recording and managing booking details, invoicing and booking necessary staff as required.

· Operate day to day the Charity’s’ Social Media Channels

· Support the management of the charity’s website.

· Assist with the implementation of the commercial events and general charity’s marketing plans, using relevant elements of the marketing mix.

· Develop and produce promotional materials, including copywriting and liaising with other departments, agencies and suppliers.

· Raise the profile and brand of all our facilities and services

· Maintain relationships with agencies, relevant publications, suppliers etc.

· Complete monthly marketing and sales analytics.

· Assist with strategic decision making and reporting.

· Create (yourself and/or using professional photographers) and curate photography to maintain a relevant, up-to-date stock of images for charity publicity, event sales and marketing.

Hillside Clubhouse is recruiting for a mental health employment specialist to join our dynamic Camden team supporting people with mental health conditions to gain and retain employment.  The role is working within the nationally recognised IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model within an NHS secondary care mental health team based in the heart of Camden.

Who we are: 

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Camden and Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity.  Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our employment specialists based within primary and secondary care.

The Role: 

The role is within our IPS Service and will be based within a Camden NHS secondary care team. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting people with lived mental health experience on their recovery journey by supporting them back into paid employment. This is an opportunity to offer ongoing support, to motivate and provide people with hope, while developing the tools and skills required to recover, ultimately transforming their lives.

A variety of skills are needed in this post including but not limited to -  a strong ability to develop empathy and rapport with clients; a determined approach to seeking out job opportunities; a person centric-approach to working with people; strong communications skills to motivate clients; strong administrative capabilities and an attention to detail engage with prospective employers via business development and face-to-face meetings, and to be able to challenge some perceptions around mental health. 

The postholder will be directly employed by Hillside Clubhouse but work under an Honorary Contract from Camden and Islington Foundation Trust.  They will be managed directly by the IPS Operations Manager but work as team member within the clinical team. The role is dynamic and involves being integrated in a clinical team, working within the community, and we operate a flexible working policy where working from home is also permitted up to two days per week.

Overall aim: 

To enable people with mental health issues to gain and sustain competitive employment by working within the evidence based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.

Primary Duties: 

• Manage a caseload of up to twenty clients and work within and apply the 8 principles of IPS in all aspects of role. 
• To work with and enable clients to find work using a mix of conventional approaches and employer engagement. 
• To generate ongoing referrals from the clinical team and to manage those effectively. 
• To engage directly and collaboratively with the clinical team while maintaining the existing multi-disciplinary approach to assisting clients seeking work. 
• To report and meet regularly with clinical team service managers and the IPS Operations manager, and to participate in both casework and clinical supervision from IPS Operations and clinical team services managers. 
• To be an active member of both the clinical and Hillside teams 
• To be responsible for own management of administrative duties tied to both Hillside Clubhouse and clinical team and adhering to existing Hillside and NHS protocols. 
• Source job opportunities specific to client needs from a range of sources including those advertised via current and conventional means, as well as through contact with local and Pan London employers. 
• To build up a network of employers to secure available and future vacancies. 
• To maintain existing and seek out new relationships with a range of external agencies of use to the post. 
• To provide ongoing support to both client and employers (where appropriate) when starting work and until such time as the client makes the decision to end the support provided. 
• To work with clients to collaboratively manage job searching activities and engagement with the service. 
• To manage and meet all KPIs, statistics and documentation as required, including but not limited to: referrals, first meetings, job outcomes, job sustainments of 6, 13 and 26 weeks, and work retention.

The community engagement coordinator will work as part of a team of new community engagement service working across East, West and South London. The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two internship positions: one focused on Communications and the other on supporting local churches to build relationships with their MPs.

You would be working as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.

About JPIT

JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff from across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.

The Internships

These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for employment after their time on the internship. Whilst we are looking for some evidence of certain skills and experience, candidates will have the opportunity to develop the relevant skills during their time in the role.

The roles are based in the Methodist Connexional Team.

These are full-time, paid posts for 12 months. They are aimed at young Christians who may have recently graduated, and are starting their career in an area such as politics, campaigning, policy or church engagement.

and innovative care and support business known for its life-changing services is looking for a dedicated and target driven Income and Housing Officer who can maximise the organisation's rental income collection, effectively manage rent arrears and deal with other breaches of the occupancy agreement.

Managing a patch of 400+ units across our services you will ensure that challenging rent collection targets are met but also that everything is done to avoid eviction. Your personal qualities are as important in this role as your work experience.

Working alongside Operational Colleagues, the Income and Housing Officer will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of generic Housing Management services across their patch with the main focus on Income Collection and some ASB management. You will be expected to meet tight KPI's increasing rent collection and carry out rent arrears actions at all stages from the initial warning letters to the eviction stage.

In order to effectively deliver the services listed above to their patch, the Income and Housing Officer will need to work closely with Contract Managers and Support Workers working within our projects to empower and enable them to carry out their responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are a pre-requisite to the role. The post holder will be extremely flexible and have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at one time.

Fixed term contract of 6-9 months

Needs to be able to travel, some homeworking but priority is out on site visiting customers in their homes and having a presence in the community.

This role requires a valid Right to Work for the UK as Look Ahead are not a sponsoring organisation.

What you'll do:

Take responsibility for maximising rent collection across a defined patch of Look Ahead's portfolio of properties ensuring that rent collection targets are met and tenancies sustained
Advise operational teams on their support related arrears management activities, including holding local surgeries with tenants and staff, taking direct control of higher level and more complex arrears cases
Proactively monitor all current and former accounts within the defined patch and make recommendations to the Housing Manager for appropriate former accounts to be written off or referred to Look Ahead's debt collection agency
Ensure that the rent collection function is carried out both sensitively and in a timely fashion so as to avoid the build up of excessive arrears and record all case details accurately.
Ensure that all sign ups within the defined patch are done accurately on the correct type of tenancy and at the correct rent and service charge levels.
Prepare files and documents for legal action and present cases in County Court hearings for possession claims, money judgements

An understanding of the needs of customers who have experienced homelessness and who may also have support needs.
Excellent time management skills to systematically monitor arrears and complete other tasks in a logical and systematic way.
Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with vulnerable people in a sensitive , friendly and clear manner.
An understanding of how to effectively deal with breaches of occupancy such as anti-social behaviour and abandonment. .
The ability to communicate clearly with non -housing management staff and explain cases in a non technical way.
A logical approach to problem solving and a willingness to deal with problems quickly and efficiently.

For the past 15 years, We Are Survivors has provided survivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male victims/survivors of sexual abuse, rape, and sexual exploitation. About the Role

Key Duties
