SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis as a result of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice (SLRA is regulated to provide advice at IAA Level 3) as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. SLRA also campaigns for a fairer immigration system, involving local people with lived experience in influencing local and national policy and practice.

We are looking for a Senior Immigration Advisor and/or Solicitor who will be responsible for the delivery of immigration advice and casework to service users in a wide range of circumstances, although most will be rough sleepers. The work will be varied and will cover a broad range of asylum and immigration issues, along with the opportunity to support advocacy work and to improve access to justice.

Are an Immigration Advisor regulated at IAA Level 3 and/or qualified solicitor with substantial relevant experience of providing high quality advice and casework to clients.

Aurora New Dawn is a registered charity providing support and advocacy to survivors of domestic abuse, stalking and sexual violence.

The Children & Young Person’s Advocate will support children at risk of domestic abuse, including sexual violence and stalking within a domestic abuse context within the Thames Valley area. Children will be identified via their non-abusing parent who is already accessing support as a victim of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking from Aurora New Dawn. The support offered to the child will be parallel to the non-abusing parent’s support and offers the parent a safe space to speak confidentially to their advocate.

The Children & Young Person’s Advocate will take part in age appropriate activities via various communication channels with the child. This can include telephone conversations, face to face visits, reading books, arts and crafts and offering an environment for the child to communicate any worries or concerns they may have.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to join the team as an Events Officer, reporting directly to the Events Manager. You will support participants who have their own place in challenge events such as runs, walks and cycles as well as other third-party organised events.

Main duties will include:

• Providing effective support to the events team, contributing towards the ambitious five-year Community and Events team strategy.
• Carrying out research, updating event collateral and supporting the team with event organisation and delivery including on-the-day support.
• Providing engaging stewardship to event participants and lapsed supporters.
• Recruiting participants and delivering excellent stewardship for a variety of third-party challenge events, including skydives, walks, cycle rides and runs whilst meeting set income targets.  

The Person

We are looking for someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in a customer service or client facing role. You must be confident with excellent attention to detail. We are also looking for a team player, who is experienced in working to targets and committed to delivering results. You will require the ability to juggle multiple projects, and be organised working on your own initiative. While experience in an events fundraising role would be advantageous, we are also keen to speak with people with events management experience and a sound knowledge of fundraising looking to develop a career in the charity sector.

Please note that this role will involve attending events in the evenings and weekends. You will be required to have a full UK driving license, and access to your own vehicle.

About the role

Fundraising plays an important role in the sustainability of The Brilliant Club, and this is only set to grow in our next strategy. The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for building relationships and creating excellent experiences for a portfolio of supporters and prospective supporters, to help us over raise over £1.4 million each year.

Supporters will be mainly Trusts & Foundations, but also some corporates and individuals. The role will include writing applications for funding, renewing existing partnerships and writing compelling funding reports. The Fundraising Officer will also be responsible for tracking the charity’s fundraising using our databases and CRM system, and for our ambassador programme.

The successful candidate will have experience working as part of a fundraising team, or have transferable skills from a similar external-facing role. They will have a proven ability to confidently build relationships with external stakeholders and have excellent written communication skills. Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and experience using a CRM system are also key qualities for this role.

While this role can be based at either our Leeds or London office, we expect some travel will be required (mainly to London) for events and to attend in-person meetings with colleagues and funders. The role will report into the Head of Fundraising.

The role

We’re seeking an Individual Giving and Legacy Officer to join our growing Individual Giving and Legacy team! 

This is a brand-new role, and you will have the chance to develop your knowledge across both areas of fundraising. In this role, you’ll deliver multi-channel campaigns that recruit supporters and you will develop our stewardship journeys, so supporters have a great experience.

This is an exciting time to join Pancreatic Cancer UK as we have an ambitious 5-year strategy to double our income and double survival rates, and this role is integral to that.

We’re working towards a world where everyone with pancreatic cancer lives long and well, but we can’t do it alone. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Delivering legacy campaigns across email, print and social media to acquire new legacy supporters.
• Delivering individual giving campaigns across regular giving, in memory, lottery, cash and our online shop.
• Developing and optimising stewardship journeys across digital, print and phone.

About You 

• You will have worked in a fundraising role and have an understanding of Individual Giving and/or Legacies
• You will have experience supporting on projects across a range of channels, for example direct mail, email, telemarketing or social media
• You will have good organisational skills with the ability to work on a variety of projects and meet multiple deadlines

Finance Officer

A rare opportunity has arisen to join a small and vibrant finance team working with the Diocese in Oxford.  We are looking to recruit a brand-new position to contribute to the day to day running of the Diocese Board of Finance (ODBF) where your contribution will have a huge impact.

Position: Finance Officer - Operations

Location: Kidlington, Oxford/Hybrid

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £36,475.31 - £39,281.10

Contract: Permanent

The Role

In this role, you will support the Finance Manager in providing a proactive, efficient, and highly effective finance service across the Diocesan Board of Finance and Trust custodian company, as well as supporting the larger finance team who look after the Board of Education.

The role will be diverse, starting with managing the day-to-day functions but also assisting in all areas of the finance function, including bank reconciliations, VAT, forecasting and reporting.

You will play a key role within a Finance department totalling 9 staff, with input into the future running and design of how the department continues to move forward and grow.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated accountant or trainee accountant (or a financially astute individual with relevant experience) to join the friendly team in the Finance function.  You will embrace the challenge that such a varied role brings. 

With proven experience in producing timely, high-quality and accurate financial information, your ‘can-do’ approach to work will inspire you to deliver excellent, meaningful financial reports that will have high impact for stakeholders. You will be flexible in your working style, have strong numerical proficiency, confident communication skills, and excellent organisational and monitoring abilities.  In return, there will be many opportunities for you to enhance your skill set, gain new experiences, and develop your career pathway within this important function.

You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work with us - around 50% of our staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins our work. However, all our staff do have a desire to make a difference.
