Job description

Director of Finance & Resources
London (Remote)

Goodman Masson is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a dynamic international charity to recruit a Director of Finance & Resources.

This is a pivotal leadership role in a well-financed, values-driven organisation that champions a feminist and anti-racist approach. With an ambitious Strategy already in motion, the Director of Finance & Resources will help shape and deliver the organisation’s financial sustainability, operational excellence, and people strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance, HR, and facilities functions, ensuring effective systems, compliance, and strategic alignment.

  • Act as Company Secretary and support Board governance, including Finance & Resources Committee liaison.

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making and organisational development.

  • Oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, audit, and statutory compliance.

  • Support HR policy development, wellbeing strategy, and safeguarding as the organisation’s Senior Safeguarding Lead.

  • Provide leadership on IT strategy and ensure systems support evolving organisational needs.

  • Manage and develop a high-performing cross-functional team.

About You:

  • A qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Substantial experience in senior finance and resource leadership roles, ideally within the charity or international development sector.

  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to work at a senior leadership level, including Board engagement.

  • Knowledge of charity accounting (SORP), governance, and compliance frameworks.

  • Experienced in change management, organisational development, and working across jurisdictions.

  • Committed to feminist principles and anti-racist values.
