The National Pro Bono Centre brings together charities dedicated to providing pro bono legal services and improving access to justice. We serve as a central resource for charities who help people seeking free legal advice and representation. The role:

To build on our achievements, we are looking for someone to lead on strategy, to promote collaboration and coordination across the sector, to maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, and to oversee and lead on the growth and development of our portfolio of projects and activities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic leadership – Continuing to develop NPBC’s strategy in accordance with the vision, mission, strategic priorities, and values of the charity, working together with the Board of Trustees, staff, and our key stakeholders.
• Operational management - Ensuring that the organisation is run efficiently, with robust financial controls.  Managing the small team (3 permanent employees and 3 contractors).  Working with the team on projects and events management.
• Fundraising – Leading on fundraising and building and developing the relationship between NPBC and existing sponsors, as well as seeking out and building relationships with new and potential sponsors.
• Communications - Representing the NPBC in the promotion of its mission, vision and aims externally.
• Governance - Ensuring that the charity is well administered and working with the Board of Trustees to meet its legal, statutory, and regulatory responsibilities.

About you:

We are looking for a strategic planner with a proven record of leading teams or organisations to deliver high quality results.  You will need to be able to demonstrate a strong track record of fundraising through commercial sponsorship and developing lasting relationships with key stakeholder partners to achieve this.

We are recruiting sessional assessing social workers to undertake Form F assessments .  Our assessments are undertaken face to face. Applicants should be able to travel across East London, West London, North London, Essex & Herts areas for assessment visits to prospective foster carers. Travel will include the following areas.

Key Duties for Form F Assessors include:

• To undertake and complete Form F assessments in the timescale set out in our policy and guidance.
• To visit personal referees as identified on application form for prospective foster carers.
• To ensure that all checks and references are undertaken and completed.
• To provide to the supervisor, regular written updates of the draft assessment.
• To liaise with our administrative team concerning the progress of administrative checks and completion of the Form F.
• To be available for supervision, consultation or liaison as required.
• To be available to present completed Form Fs to the virtual fostering panel and provide support to the applicants through this process.
• To be aware of our child protection procedures and immediately report any child protection matter or concerns to a TACT manager and any relevant placing authority and the area authority.
• To carry out the duties in line with our Foster Carer and Supervising Social Worker Standards and Practice Guidance.

Rates of Pay for Form F Assessors

• We will pay £2250 (inclusive of VAT) + up to £500 bonus payments (if criteria are met) upon submission of a successfully completed Form F Assessment.
• £37.50 per hour for assessments which are not completed, and any other piece of work.

Role Purpose

As our international grantmaking and emergency relief support expands, we are seeking an experienced International Finance Manager to oversee high-risk and complex financial operations in humanitarian and activist contexts globally.

The International Finance Manager will provide financial leadership and oversight across our growing global grantmaking portfolio. This new role which we are testing out requires balancing robust financial stewardship with flexibility to meet the urgent needs of grassroots movements and funders working in complex, high-risk contexts.

Working closely with colleagues in Compliance, Risk & Innovation and the Grant Distribution team, you will ensure secure, transparent, and compliant management of international funds/grant disbursements, while modelling the collaborative, trauma-informed, and values-driven approach that sits at the heart of SCN’s work.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Stakeholder Management - 10%

• Act as the finance lead for philanthropic clients raising funds for overseas emergency relief and grassroots movements.

• Provide clear, practical advice on financial risk, compliance, and best practice to clients.

• Build trusted relationships with grassroots partners, ensuring funds are transferred responsibly and reporting is accessible and transparent.

Terms and benefits:

Terms: The role will be full-time (37.5 hours/week) permanent contract  - we will consider well-structured JobShare applications. As we often work with volunteers, occasional evening and weekend work will be required and compensated through TOIL. Occasional but limited UK or European travel will be required (by arrangement).

Salary: £39,705

Location: You must be based in the UK. We have an office in Farringdon, London, where London-based staff typically work at least two days a week. If you are based outside of London, the role will be home-based. 

We hold quarterly all-staff strategy meetings and annual away days which you will be required to attend in person: we will cover the cost of your travel. You will be required to come together with the team occasionally and these travel costs will not be covered, we try our best to keep these to when only necessary. 

Language Skills & Visa Status: Candidates must be fluent in English and have the independent right to work in the UK for a minimum of two years, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.

Corporate Fundraising

• Identify, develop and secure corporate partnerships, including Charity of the Year opportunities, sponsorships, payroll giving, and in-kind support.

• Prepare compelling proposals, pitches and presentations to secure new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.

Early Years Advisor

We are looking for Early Years Advisors to join the team supporting the contract delivery of our Maths Champions programmes.

Maths Champions is an online professional development programme, enabling early years settings to access CPD from their setting without the need to release staff to attend external training. The programme provides a range of evidence based training, reflective tools, resources and support from an Early Years Advisor.

This role offers remote working and there are 8 positions available.

You will be part of the ambitious puppy team, developing, coordinating, and supporting the puppy training programme. You will have the opportunity to work with and train volunteers in the appropriate care and training of Canine Partners’ puppies. You will work with puppies from eight-weeks to approximately 15-months old, ensuring they receive appropriate socialisation and training before entering our assistance dog training, giving them the foundations to learn how to be life-changing assistance dogs, bringing greater independence and quality of life to people with physical disabilities. A proactive approach is key to maintaining the welfare and behavioural standards for the puppies. All training at Canine Partners follows best practice, positive reinforcement methods and this role is an ambassador for this approach.
