About the role

Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.

The Museum is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual for the role of Philanthropy Executive. Working alongside an approachable and highly successful Philanthropy team, reporting into the Patrons Manager, the role will support the team in the Patrons and High-net-worth individual (HNWI) income streams, as well as managing your own portfolio of HNWIs. You will focus on the administration and stewardship of the Patrons Circle and supporting the HNWI wider team with donor stewardship. Alongside this, you will have your own portfolio of 5-figure funders and prospects and maintain a high level of organisation and excellent communication to build both internal relationships and external relationships with donors and prospects.

You will work closely with colleagues in the Philanthropy team and wider Development Group across varied income streams whilst also building successful working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the Museum. The role will be line-managed by the Patrons Manager with guidance from the Philanthropy Manager (HNWI) and Senior Philanthropy Manager.

Hybrid working

This role is essential in our drive for evidencing the impact of the work we do. You will lead and manage a large-scale, multi-organisation piece of research aiming to highlight the impact of our programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring the main research project and any supplementary research projects are delivered efficiently and ethically. You will use data and evidence to inform practice and work closely with the Programme Specialist for Pilots and the wider Quality and Impact Team as required.  Additionally, you will project manage additional cross-organisational projects as required in support of our growing charity. 

This is role is a fixed-term contract for 18 months. 

Travel throughout the UK may be required.

Key Responsibilities 

· You will be accountable for the oversight of the main research and any supplementary research projects from initiation to completion.

· You will collaborate with the Programme Specialist for Pilots and the Associate Director of Business Development to ensure delivery of the research and ensure alignment and fidelity to the research plan.

· You will work with the Head of Quality and Impact and Finance Team to ensure that the project/s meet agreed objectives, timelines and budgets.

About the Team

Sitting in the wider Fundraising Directorate, this role sits within our small but mighty Legacy Marketing team, which is part of our wider Legacy and Donor Development team (who look after our cash and raffle programmes). Legacy Marketing is the top fundraising priority at GOSH Charity meaning we have huge ambitions and healthy investment in our fundraising area. 

We are seeking a full-time Supporter Engagement Coordinator to join our team. You will be a key point of contact for our audience and supporters, helping to deliver excellent customer service and ensure outstanding supporter care. The role involves overseeing audience engagement, coordinating communications and special events—including evening lectures—and maintaining accurate data to support our fundraising and engagement activities. Key duties and responsibilities:

Audience Engagement

• Organise catering for special events and meetings both at Barnard’s Inn and other venues.

• Liaise and support the Head of Fundraising & Engagement over the promotion of Barnards’ Inn to increase income generation from lettings.

Person specification:

Essential Skills & Experience

• Customer Service Excellence: Proven experience delivering high-quality customer care, ideally in a fundraising, or educational setting. Ability to handle enquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
• CRM and Data Management: Strong working knowledge of CRM systems (we use Beacon) including data entry, segmentation, and reporting. Experience with data imports/exports and maintaining data accuracy.
• Event Coordination: Experience planning and delivering events, including logistics, venue liaison, catering, and AV coordination. Comfortable acting as Duty Manager and supporting evening lectures and events.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage supporters, respond to enquiries, and write engaging responses.
• Digital Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Eventbrite, and online giving platforms. Comfortable using digital tools to manage bookings, communications, and supporter journeys.

Purpose of the job

To work with Thames21’s Head of Finance and The Roding Rises delivery team to oversee the administration of The Roding Rises, a three-year project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund that aims to kick-start the revitalisation of the River Roding. This position will work alongside Thames21’s Head of Finance and The Roding Rises Project Manager to ensure that every day finance functions for The Roding Rises project operate efficiently and accurately. To successfully deliver this job, the postholder will have a strong eye for detail and have experience in budget management/bookkeeping to ensure funding claims and invoices are paid on time. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Track project costs against projected budget to ensure budget vs actual expenditure is effectively managed, raising concerns early with Thames21’s head of finance and The Roding Rises project manager.

• Complete The National Lottery Heritage Fund claims process at agreed intervals to ensure an appropriate cash flow.
• Assist with relevant reporting tasks back to project funders. 

• Work with the Thames21 Head of Finance and Thames21 Finance Officer to ensure all payments are completed in a timely manner in line with internal financial processes and any outstanding payments are managed in line with the approved funding agreement/ project proposal documentation. 

• Support The Roding Rises project manager with the administration of the Roding Rises grants scheme.

• Support the development and integration of improved financial tracking and reporting processes across wider Thames21 Teams.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As Clerk to the Board of Governors

Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to the Board of Governors. Responsibilities include:

• provide administrative support to the governing body, for example: co-ordinating calendar of dates for governing body meetings and preparing agendas, taking notes at meetings for the preparation of minutes and ensuring that all decisions are recorded accurately and objectively, including timescales for actions

• Support the implementation and effective use of New Governance Software and lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings. Update and maintain a database of Governance information, ensuring secure handling of confidential data and information in compliance with College Policy and the General Data Protection Regulations.

• support the development and performance of governors in their role, for example: updating them on changes in legislation and policy, informing them of appropriate training and helping them understand their duties

As Governance and Performance Manager

• Support the College’s internal governance function, providing administrative support in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes/minutes. Lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings and in systems and Processes to improve efficiency.

• Work with the Executive Leadership Team and wider leadership team to co-ordinate regular strategy updates and report on progress against strategic goals and agreed KPIs.

• Input into, and support with the co-ordination of the College’s Wider Leadership Forum and All-Staff sessions.

• Update and Maintain the College’s Risk Register and Master Policy Schedule.

• Assist with co-ordinating internal audit reviews in accordance with approved internal audit plan.

• Receive and co-ordinate timely responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

• Be a collaborative, enthusiastic member of the College’s wider leadership team, working closely with Staff and Governors to help deliver our ambitious strategy.

• Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
• Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail, with excellent customer care
• Prioritise answering incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to the Senior Supporter Care Manager
• Support processing incoming phone and postal donations
• Assist with banking and processing incoming/outgoing post
• Be responsible for thanking our supporters, including by letter, email and phone, dispatch of information and fundraising materials
• Enter and maintain accurate records on our Database
• Maintain and assist with all types of donation processing, administration and Database record amendments/records being kept up to date. This will include Gift Aid status and contact consent requests
• Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters
• Manage the removal process and consent process
• Assist with sending out problem payment letters
• Following up cancelled regular payments as part of the winback process
• Assist with handling material requests and recording actions on the Database
• Assist with any third-party agency supporter care requests
• Maintain sensitive information and records with appropriate confidentiality
• Play an active role in developing the supporter journey at Operation Smile UK, working with the Senior Supporter Care Manager and colleagues across Fundraising & Communications.

DEBT ADVICE CASEWORKER

We have an exciting opportunity for a Debt Advice Caseworker to join our team at Oasis Waterloo. In the heart of the Waterloo community we run a busy and vibrant community space, open to all. A vital part of this work is our advice services – providing free and accessible debt, benefits, housing and immigration advice to local people. This work has grown over the last few years and we are now looking for an experienced and innovative advice worker, to provide debt advice within the service.

SQL Insight Analyst

Salary: Up to £40,155 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for a SQL INSIGHT ANALYST to join our Data, Insight and Research Team working to support teams charity wide in making data-driven decisions. About The Role  

As a SQL Insight Analyst, you will be at the heart of our charity’s ambition to drive our decision making through evidence and data backed insights. Working closely with the rest of the Data, Insights and Research team to enable their access to aggregated or granular data points from our Services and Fundraising databases.

You will become an expert on the data points we collect at Help For Heroes and gain understanding of how these all play a part in achieving our overall goal of ensuring Members of the Armed Forces Community Live Well after Service.

About You  

You will be a highly motivated SQL code writer with a passion for making a difference in our community. You will need a sharp and dynamic mind that can infer the business logic that underpins the work we do. You will have the adaptability to be able to speak both in business logic and in the translated SQL language that access the data points needed to provide insight on a particular business challenge. Good organisational skills, energy and the ability to listen, build relationships and inspire both confidence and curiosity within our dataset will be essential to drive the change the Charity is looking for.

We are looking for someone with:  

• The ability to write efficient and accurate SQL code.

• An aptitude for understanding business logic and translating that into all code written.

• Strong communication skills to ensure that requirements are agreed and understood on both sides of the ask.

• Basic knowledge of BI tools, in order to implement connections and code to allow for visualisation of the aggregated data.

• Effective and efficient organisational and IT skills. 

PLEASE NOTE:  

• We meet as a team quarterly, most often in London or in Downton (near Salisbury). Travel and accommodation if required would be provided.

• The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday - Sunday. Core working days will be Monday to Friday with core working hours of 10am-3pm. Working hours will vary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a two-week period, so please take this into consideration before applying.  

• The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
