Enact have a vacancy for a Senior Youth and Community Worker to lead our open-access community youth provision.  We are looking for an experienced youth practitioner to manage our youth team and work within the enact team to develop a range of engaging activities and training opportunities for young people with particular focus on those aged 10 to 19 in the Enfield community. 

The Senior Youth and Community Worker needs to be a passionate, enthusiastic and professional. They will lead the youth team to create community-based opportunities for the whole family, in accordance with the ethos and values of Oasis. The Senior Youth worker will also support the enact team to develop and be involved in community cohesion projects involving children, families and youth.

A self-starter, you’ll need to be able to work independently within agreed brand guidelines and with minimal supervision. You’ll also need to be highly organised, ensuring that deadlines are met and that content lands in a timely manner. Through analytics, you’ll monitor engagement, using these insights to inform our evolving content plan and drive growth.

As well as creating compelling content for our core communications platforms, you’ll also provide valuable support to our ambitious press plan, helping to amplify the voice of Pilgrims’ Friend Society in local and national media.

• Troubleshoot problems with equipment installations and resolve these faults both remotely and in person.
• To be responsible for stock and undertake auditing of the stock and maintain current databases according to Company requirements including updating and maintaining asset registers
• Support the IT manager in providing a high level of service coordination to ensure that new projects are delivered effectively. 
• To take part in training sessions and attend meetings as required.
• To manage and maintain records, including central records, stock control and budgetary records.
• Train staff in the use of all systems available and provide ongoing support to ensure effective use of the systems in place.

The Chief Executive provides overall leadership in terms of the strategic development and operational management of Muscular Dystrophy UK. The key purpose of the Chief Executive role is to inspire and lead the charity to support ground breaking research to drive the development of effective treatments and cures, to ensure access to specialist NHS care and support, to provide excellent direct services and promote opportunities to enable individuals and their families to live independently with the best possible quality of life.

The Chief Executive will ensure the charity is a high performing organisation with clear strategic objectives that engages widely and works effectively through partnerships to achieve its goals. The Chief Executive oversees and develops the financial performance of the charity which underpins the pace of strategic developments.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should possess a multifaceted skill set with a demonstrable commitment to the vision and values of Muscular Dystrophy UK.

You must be a strategic thinker, capable of collaborating with the Board to define a clear organisational vision and effectively communicate it both internally and externally.

You should also demonstrate a mature understanding of charity governance, ensuring effective financial planning, tight controls, and risk management. You must possess high financial acumen to monitor income trends, identify areas for efficiency, and reduce costs while inspiring, motivating, and managing staff and volunteers to ensure coordinated activities across the organisation.

Additionally, you need to be an empathetic listener, with high levels of emotional intelligence, engaging a diverse group of stakeholders. You should demonstrate strong communication skills, resilience in problem-solving, and a coaching/mentoring style at all levels, while maintaining clarity, openness, and determination to achieve agreed objectives.

Experience:

• Significant leadership experience gained at senior level in a complex environment, ideally with good, first-hand knowledge of the research or health sectors, working with patients, families or vulnerable people.
• Evidence of leading the development and delivery of organisational strategy, key targets, service improvements and management of change.
• Solid track record of effectively managing resources and budgets, with experience of delivering long term financial sustainability and stewardship of valuable resources.
• Ability to forge and nurture effective partnerships and collaborative relationships with a range of organisations both inside and outside the research, healthcare and/or charitable sectors and also with patients and their families.
• Demonstrable evidence of strategic development and leading and inspiring people / organisations and developing effective partnerships.

We’re delighted to be supporting a National Charity with the recruitment on a interim Management Accountant to join the team on an initial 3 month basis.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering first-class month and year end management information and leading the financial aspects of implementing a new CRM and Finance system. You will lead on the organisations monthly reporting, providing in depth financial analysis and commentary and manage the assistant management  accountant.

Duties will include the following:

• Own the month end process, including the preparation and oversight of income and balance sheet reconciliations
• Lead on certain complex reconciliations such as membership income and grants payments
• Produce monthly management accounts, including analysis and commentary
• Lead the annual budget and quarterly reforecasting processes (including timetables, input templates, output tables, challenge sessions with budget holders and commentary)
• Be the finance representative on the CRM implementation team (discovery in 2024, implementation 2025)
• Work closely with the Finance Manager & Tech Team on potential enhancements to the finance system
• Lead (with the HoF, Data and Tech Teams) the implementation of any new finance system
• Work closely with the Finance Manager on the preparation and management of the year-end close and audit timetables and close the year-end books
