Team Leader

Team Leader/Senior Support Worker

Our Service

Wharfedale House | Leonard Cheshire In the picturesque town of Wetherby in West Yorkshire, Wharfedale House is home for 18 adults with physical disabilities. We have lovely views of the River Wharfe and the surrounding countryside. A short walk from Wetherby town square, we are close to shops, pubs, cafes, a library, colleges, and a sports centre. York and Leeds are also nearby. With public transport access only a short walk away getting to and from the service won’t be a problem.

Your new role

You will supervise a dedicated team ensuring a high level of care is delivered to people who use our service. This includes personal care, assistance with daily living tasks and activities, supporting our customers to attain their full potential, encouraging choice, participation and motivation. You will organise and manage the rota so that sufficient staff are provided at all times covering the needs of the service. You will receive ongoing training and development to build your skills, experience and career.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A level of professional development and registration (this may include NVQ/SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or, Learning Disability or L4 NVQ/SVQ in team leading or management or similar qualification), dependant on location.
• Prior experience of working in a relevant care setting.
• Prior experience of supervising a team of staff.
• To be able to work flexibly within rostered hours and be prepared to participate in an on-call rota as required.
• Knowledge of people who use our services self-advocacy and empowerment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
