The new role of Community Organiser: Community of St Paulinus at Sheffield Cathedral plays a key role in establishing the Cathedral as a resourcing church, partnering with parishes in the inclusive catholic tradition and embedding community organising principles across our parish partnerships and the Cathedral itself. Community organising is not simply a method but a core discipline in this initiative — shaping how relationships are built, leaders are developed, and action is taken for the common good. Through this approach, the Cathedral and its partners will contribute to the founding of Sheffield Citizens and work collaboratively for justice and human flourishing across the region. At the heart of the resourcing project will be a new non-residential mission community called the Community of St Paulinus (CsP). Although based at the Cathedral, notably in the rhythm of prayer, the CsP will be deployed in contextual mission with parish partners. Working closely with the Prior and Sub-Prior, the community organiser will be responsible for integrating community organising practices into our missional approach and supporting others as they seek to do the same.
The Community Organiser will work with the CsP and the Project Resource Team - an agile group comprising a Project Manager, Fundraiser and Digital Evangelist - to provide practical and strategic support for missioners and parish partners engaged in parish revitalisation and the planting of new worshipping communities.

Core Purpose
This leadership role is part of the Make-A-Wish UK Extended Leadership Team (ExLT) and is responsible for shaping and driving Make-A-Wish UK’s brand, communications and entertainment strategy. Ensuring the charity is powerfully positioned in the hearts and minds of the public as an organisation to support and donate to.
Leading a team of expert communications, content and digital specialists, the role will champion a strategic and scalable approach to brand, content, and communications. It will ensure our messaging cuts through across all internal and external touchpoints, consistently reflecting our mission to grant a wish for every eligible child.
The Head of Brand, Communications and Entertainment will also oversee the strategic development of key entertainment relationships, including celebrity talent, influencers, media partners, and broadcasters, to amplify our brand presence and support wider organisational objectives.
As a key member of the ExLT, this role will collaborate across departments to strengthen Make-A-Wish UK’s profile, build meaningful connections with stakeholders, and inspire audiences to engage with and support our cause.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience (5+ years) within senior level brand role including Head of Department or communications/strategy roles, ideally within the charity or not for profit sector.
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering integrated communications strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and support.
- Proven experience leading organisations through change and successfully embedding new delivery models to improve impact, efficiency, or engagement
- Knowledge of how to develop a consistent brand voice and style.
- Ability to conduct market research, competitive analyses and research on potential target audiences.

Key Responsibilities
Brand Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of Make-A-Wish UK’s brand strategy, ensuring it reflects our mission, values, and commitment to children and families.
- Act as brand guardian, maintaining consistency and integrity across all communications and channels, and ensuring alignment with Make-A-Wish International guidelines.
- Use audience insights and market trends to evolve brand positioning, ensuring it remains relevant, compelling, and inclusive.
- Champion brand understanding across the organisation, enabling teams, volunteers, and partners to represent Make-A-Wish UK authentically and effectively.
- Identify and cultivate strategic relationships with media and brand partners, that amplify brand visibility and engagement. Leverage these collaborations to enhance brand equity, reach new audiences, and support long-term brand development goals.
Communications Strategy
- Develop and deliver a communications strategy that builds public awareness, deepens understanding of our mission, and inspires support.
- Lead the creation of impactful campaigns and storytelling that highlight the transformative power of a wish and the voices of children, families, and supporters.
- Lead on providing expert guidance to teams on integrated communications planning and execution, ensuring alignment across all public-facing activity.
- Manage crisis communications, safeguarding the charity’s reputation and ensuring clear, compassionate responses.
- Lead the development of a scalable and strategic framework for the delivery of organisational campaigns including service delivery, volunteering, fundraising and internal communications.

Entertainment & Talent Engagement

- Support the Talent Manager to cultivate new strategic partnerships with agencies and representatives to expand opportunities and increase visibility, ensuring alignment with our values and goals.
Digital & Media Engagement
- Lead the charity’s digital communications strategy, ensuring a vibrant, engaging presence across all platforms.
- Oversee the integration of digital marketing to support fundraising, awareness, and community building,
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and partners to maximise positive exposure and advocacy.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide inspiring leadership and development for the Brand, Communications & Entertainment team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
- Support and role-model cross-functional collaboration, ensuring communications activity aligns with organisational priorities and supports other teams effectively.
- Represent Brand, Communication and Entertainment at the Extended Leadership Team (ExLT), contributing to cross-charity strategy, insight sharing and project delivery.
- Represent Make-A-Wish UK and nurture key relationships as required.
Measurement & Insight
- Work with the Head of Insights and Innovation to develop and apply insights to inform strategic planning.
- Define and track key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of brand and communications activity, presenting to the senior Leadership Team and Board as required.
- Capture and report on data and learnings, embedding continuous improvement and sharing best practice across the organisation.

You will also be a key leader at YCF and a core member of the SMT, managing two part-time staff members. Discipleship & Faith Formation Officer: Faith at Home

We are offering an interesting and varied opportunity to support the work of the Connexional Team and the wider Methodist Church in developing, providing, and maintaining quality training, resourcing, network organisation, accompaniment, and experiences – in ways that are theologically-rooted, culturally-resonant, inclusive, relational, creative, and compelling for children and young people in their homes, with their families, responsible adults, and/or care providers.
Working alongside the Discipleship Team and colleagues within the Evangelism & Growth Team, you will be developing and communicating with networks around the Methodist Church’s biblically- and theologically coherent vision and strategy for multi-generational Methodist discipleship. As part of this, an important aspect of the role will be supporting the development of a coherent discipleship pathway across different age groups within families and children at home, which will be sensitive to key transitional development stages across generations and life experiences. You will be working with circuits and local churches as well as in partnership with external organisations; in addition, you will be and active part of the development and delivery of key events such as 3Generate.

About You
We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the development and delivery of the Discipleship stream outlined in Methodist Church’s evangelism and growth strategy – part of the Church’s commitment to be a growing, inclusive, evangelistic, and justice-seeking Church.
You will preferably have experience in training and project management, and it is essential that you are experienced in children, family and youth ministry. You must be experienced in the development and delivery of teaching programmes and have a good understanding of intergenerational faith development. As a good project manager and communicator, you are able to work with ecumenical and secular partners as well as local Methodist Churches and Circuits. Experience with digital content development and social media would be an advantage.

The Role
Working alongside the Volunteer Manager for Hospitals, the Volunteer Officer for Hospitals role provides support to deliver our ambitious volunteer strategy. This role is responsible for the recruitment, training, induction and recognition of volunteers in our hospitals.
The person will:
· Ensure that volunteers in hospital roles are recruited in line with charity recruitment procedures following SAFER recruitment practices and NHS England recruitment procedures as appropriate.
· Build and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders across the charity, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and organisations across Leeds.
· Support the development and delivery of a recruitment plan for hospitals volunteering to ensure recruitment targets are met.
· Support on delivering a communication strategy that underpins recruitment targets for the hospitals.
· Ensure that all volunteers are offered an inclusive, rewarding, sustainable and equitable reward and recognition programme that regularly says thank you and aids retention.
· Responsible for ensuring that the volunteer management database (CRM) is kept up to date for hospital volunteering and utilised in line with internal processes.
· Deliver a volunteer training programme that ensures every volunteer in hospital roles receives appropriate mandatory and optional training as required by their role and has the opportunity for additional learning and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will have:
· 2+ years’ experience of recruiting volunteers or paid staff.
· Have a passion to work with and support volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
· Knowledge and understanding of volunteer best practice.
· Knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR in a volunteer setting.
· Experience of delivering training in different formats.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including networking, influencing and relationship-building skills.

What You'll Do:
Lead the Enterprise team to provide an outstanding level of service to events clients, visitors, including the families programme, and deliver excellence in the Café Restaurant franchise and the Shop. You will work enthusiastically as part of the Cathedral’s team of staff and volunteers to help deliver our vision.
Some of the Key Responsibilities of the role:

Events
- To direct the events team in organising the extensive events programme, maximise the spare capacity of the Cathedral building and the adjacent grounds, thereby generating income as required by the Cathedral budget.
- To be responsible for the execution of events, delegating to the Events Team and/or other Staff members as appropriate.
- To be on duty as part of the team rota delivering events.
Café Restaurant
- To ensure that the franchise delivers the requisite performance, in terms of quality and financial benefit to the Cathedral, as required by the contract between Guildford Cathedral Enterprises and the franchisee.
Management
- To be the line manager for the Enterprise team members, including Events Officer, Events Assistant, Shop Manager & Shop Assistant, Visitor Engagement Officer, and the Families Engagement Officer.
- To be the Cathedral point of contact for management issues related to the employees of the Café Restaurant franchisee.
- To attend Diary Management and Head of Department Meetings.
- To ensure all marketing and relevant information reaches the marketing team in a timely manner.
Shop
- To direct the Shop team to provide value for money in the Shop, delivering an excellent level of service to the community and a level of income required by the Cathedral budget.
Visitor Engagement & Families Programme
- To direct the Visitor Engagement Officer and Family Engagement Officer to deliver the wide programme of tours, concerts, and Family engagement days, broadening our visitor numbers and demographic and managing the outreach activities actively and effectively.
