We need leaders who are passionate about making a difference in their communities, who care about helping and developing others, who will lead and inspire a volunteer movement across a geographical area to deliver Community First Aid, Community Education and Community Fundraising as well as develop our offering for young people. Through leading a team of Volunteer leaders, you will drive excellence in delivery, develop an inclusive and diverse volunteering experience for new and current volunteers, and help navigate through change to build a bigger and better St John Ambulance.

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. Volunteers would be expected to attend training for the role both online and in person, and to attend regular network weekly meetings to enable them to keep their skills up to date.

South Cumbria MAT are seeking committed volunteers from a range of backgrounds to join as Trustees on their Board of Trustees. Trustees are critical to the success of the Trust. Although they are volunteers, they provide challenge and monitoring. They ask questions and probe the information and data they have been provided with. Trustees are often seen as the ‘critical friend’ to ensure leaders are responding to the challenges and key priorities. Being a Trustee is supportive within a group of other volunteers who work together as a collective voice. You do not need experience of being a trustee. South Cumbria MAT will support all new Trustees to develop in their role as well as additional training where needed.
Trustees come from many backgrounds. We are seeking individuals who may be able to offer expertise in the following areas:
• Education outcomes
• Special education needs
• Governance and compliance including experience of chairing boards
• School improvement
• Health and safety and facilities
• Finance, estates, and/or resources

What's involved?
- Undertake tasks ranging from clearing tables and serving food to washing dishes and supporting behind the counter.
- Use your smile and customer service skills to engage with visitors, share knowledge of the property and generally enhance their visit
- Have a strong working knowledge of our menu, including allergen information, and sharing this with visitors, though any allergy questions should be asked to a team leader, with the support of our allergen book.
- Playing your part to continue our work looking after special places
- Joining an enthusiastic team and making new friends
- Learning and developing a range of skills such as food safety, barista and exceptional service.
- There’s also potential to get involved with the Food & Beverage events calendar.
- You can also opt in to Food and Beverage Buggy training to help deliver freshly baked goods to other outlets on site.

1. POSITION SUMMARY
At Release Therapy for Women, our mission is to ensure every woman in Sussex has access to high-quality therapeutic support. The Community Outreach & Inclusion Ambassador acts as a vital "bridge" between our charity and the local community. This is an active, relationship-focused role. You will work to build trust within diverse neighbourhoods, speak with healthcare professionals, and ensure that women who might not find us on social media are aware of the free, safe, therapeutic spaces we offer.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Mapping & Trust Building
* Local Mapping: Research and identify multicultural community groups, faith centres, and women’s organisations in your specific area (Worthing, Peacehaven, or Brighton).
* Networking: Attend local coffee mornings, community festivals, and group meetings to introduce Release’s services in a warm, accessible, and non-clinical way.
* Targeted Engagement: Actively work to engage all communities by building relationships with respected community leaders.
Health & Social Prescribing Liaison
* GP Practice Outreach: Visit local GP surgeries to ensure Social Prescribing Link Workers and Practice Managers have our latest flyers and understand our referral process.
* Pharmacy & Hubs: Place information cards in local pharmacies and community health hubs, particularly in Peacehaven and East Worthing.
* Removing Barriers: Briefly chat with potential participants to help diffuse any initial anxiety about "joining a group," explaining the supportive nature of our sessions.
3. PERSON SPECIFICATION
Skills and Abilities
* Strong Interpersonal Skills: You are a "people person" who can start warm conversations with individuals from all walks of life.
* Active Listening: The ability to listen without judgment and empathise with the diverse experiences of women.
* Independence: You are a self-starter who is comfortable managing your own local schedule and reaching out to organisations.
* Local Knowledge: You must have strong ties to, or a deep understanding of, Worthing, Peacehaven, or Brighton & Hove.
Knowledge and Experience
* Diversity & Inclusion: An understanding of (or lived experience of) the barriers that prevent marginalised women from accessing mental health support.

* No professional clinical experience is required, but a passion for women's mental health and wellbeing is essential.
