About the Role  

As a YWA at Respond, you will provide high-quality, trauma-informed advocacy for young women and girls age 14-25, with complex needs experiencing multiple disadvantages. 

Ensuring their safety and empowering them to rebuild their lives by advocating for young women and girls to be represented and that their choices and needs are kept central in all activities and decisions.

You will conduct risk assessments (DASH) and work closely with agencies. Your role includes supporting young women and girls in building self-protective skills and resilience, such as self-esteem, confidence, and safety planning. You will also design sessions that help identify healthy and unhealthy relationships, working with social services, police, schools, and housing authorities. You will also play a key role in raising awareness and improving support for neurodivergent survivors.

SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis as a result of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice (SLRA is regulated to provide advice at IAA Level 3) as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. SLRA also campaigns for a fairer immigration system, involving local people with lived experience in influencing local and national policy and practice.

We are looking for a Senior Immigration Advisor and/or Solicitor who will be responsible for the delivery of immigration advice and casework to service users in a wide range of circumstances, although most will be rough sleepers. The work will be varied and will cover a broad range of asylum and immigration issues, along with the opportunity to support advocacy work and to improve access to justice.

Role Purpose:

The Helpline Advisor will be the first point of contact for individuals reporting incidents of anti-Muslim hate. The role requires delivering empathetic, confidential, and high-quality support to callers, as well as accurately recording reports and ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.

Helpline Advisors will support service users via multiple channels—phone, email, SMS, online chat and web form, by listening actively, offering appropriate information, and making referrals to specialist services where required. They will work closely with the Helpline Supervisor and participate in debriefs and reflective practice after each shift or reported incident.

Advisors will also play an important role in ensuring accurate data capture, safeguarding procedures, and upholding the values of compassion, non-judgement, and confidentiality.

Role Responsibilities: 

• Answer incoming calls from victims of hate crime with empathy and professionalism.
   

• Provide support to service users using a variety of methods, including telephone, email, SMS, online chat, online forms, and other written reports.
   

• Provide clear, appropriate advice, support, and information to service users, using a non-judgemental and person-centred approach.
   

• Keep accurate, detailed electronic records of each contact, including advice given, support offered, and agreed referrals.

At Citizens UK, our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. There are various project roles and operational, communication, finance and HR roles that support the organisation and project staff and organisers to deliver on this mission and work. Main Responsibilities 

A Senior Organiser is mastering the craft of community organising and taking increasing responsibility for developing major campaigns, managing budgets and managing staff. They operate with a high degree of independence and are significant contributors to CUK-wide functions such as training.  Senior Organisers model the broad-based community organising methodology in their work including the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change. 

You will bring communities together to drive change both locally, regionally, and nationally. This role will work closely with local civic institutions, such as churches, mosques, schools, universities, unions and other community groups to: 

• develop the leadership of people within those organisations - our 'leaders' who lead the campaigns we work on 

• help them identify the changes they want to see and create strategies to win those changes 

• strengthen institutions’ own abilities to achieve their missions. 

This includes listening to members of the community to find common issues, engaging local decision-makers through meetings, and planning in-person ‘actions’, where you might hold those in power to account. All of this work is underpinned by the knowledge that everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. This work will be rooted locally, but you will be a part of a bigger national drive to make change alongside diverse local alliances across the UK. Working with a talented group of economists and researchers, you will design, manage and deliver high-quality research projects across energy, climate, transport and wider decarbonisation. You’ll create datasets, carry out quantitative and qualitative analysis, and develop policy proposals that are creative, evidence-based and workable. You’ll also contribute to consultancy commissions, support fundraising bids, and represent NEF externally in meetings, media and public platforms such as blogs, podcasts and videos.

We’re looking for someone with a degree (or equivalent experience) in environmental economics, climate change, sustainability, public policy or a related field; strong research and quantitative skills (Excel and ideally Stata, R or Python); excellent writing and communication ability, and 3–5 years of relevant experience. Just as important is curiosity, creativity, good organisation, and a commitment to building a fairer, greener economy.

About this key role

You will work with participants to conduct a comprehensive initial assessment of their employment and wider needs, and then co-develop and regularly review action plans, supporting individuals to carry out actions through one-to-one and group motivational advice and guidance.  We will also count on you to lead a team of Peer Advisors and Volunteers to deliver flexible and supportive services to individuals with complex needs, aimed at improving their employability and helping them transition into sustainable employment.

Your role will be to work with our board of Directors and staff to come to an understanding of our mission and values and our strategic priorities and develop and resource projects that will enable us to meet those priorities filling gaps in provision. The direction of travel should be broadly determined by our recent strategic review.

You will work closely with our CEO and our Board of Directors to prioritise project ideas. Responsibilities:

Grant Fundraising Support:

• Work with the Selce community (the board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders) to generate new project ideas that support our strategic mission 
• Research and identify potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies that will fund project proposals
• Prepare high-quality grant applications; this includes calculating budget requirements, formulating proposals, writing proposals
• Manage the grant administration process and maintain accurate records of funding opportunities and applications in the fundraising calendar.

Commissioned Work & Tendering Support:
