SHINE is a membership organisation offering free services and support to over 14,700 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), and associated conditions.

We currently have 750 members living with NPH and this is growing significantly each month. This role will provide a specific focus on the area of NPH, whilst also supporting wider Shine activities. 

Main purpose of role 

Deliver a high-quality service to and facilitate opportunities for, individuals living with NPH/dementia and their families/carers through Shine membership across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. 

Empower and enable members living with the conditions to lead healthy and happy lives through greater independence, better condition management and by creating links to the Shine community and their local networks. 

Raise awareness of NPH across Health & Social Care professionals and the public. 

Support the planning and delivery of the annual NPH Awareness Week. 

As part of a high performing team, support Shine to be recognised as the number one provider of support for NPH outside of the NHS. 

Promote and support all Shine’s services and activities.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Insights and Evaluation team at Dementia UK supporting the organisation to build the evidence base for Admiral Nursing through collecting and sharing evidence on the effectiveness of the Admiral Nursing model.

As the Insights and Evaluation Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the team’s systems and folders, ensuring key resources remain organised and up-to-date. Additionally you will act as the main point of contact for enquiries within the team. Actively managing the team’s inbox and coordinating meetings and projects, providing essential administrative support.

You will also be involved in coordinating data collection processes and assisting with the team’s survey function. This will include supporting basic analysis of evaluation data, collating and cleaning survey data and contributing to the production of reports and other key documents.

To succeed in this role, you will need experience in providing administrative support, including managing shared folders and systems. Strong organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise and handle a diverse range of responsibilities independently. You should also possess solid IT skills, including proficiency in common software packages like MS Office, experience of using online survey software and some experience using Excel for basic data analysis. You will also need to have an understanding of information governance issues including awareness of data protection and confidentiality requirements

What you’ll do

As Finance Executive, you’ll play a key role in keeping our day-to-day finance operations running smoothly; from processing transactions and performing reconciliations, to ensuring our partners are billed correctly and pay on time. You'll be a key point of contact for finance queries across the business, and your work will be essential to maintaining accurate records and enabling wider decision-making. You'll also play an important role in driving process improvements, and support the team by analysing data and producing insightful reports that inform decision making.

This is a varied role where you’ll get exposure to lots of different areas within the finance function of a SaaS company. It’s perfect if you’re keen to explore your interests and gain a solid grounding across multiple aspects of finance.

• Record, process and reconcile transactions for the company using platforms like Spendesk and Xero, and ensure transactions are accurately recorded and categorised. 
• Manage our finance email inbox, responding to queries from schools, universities and employers. 
• Manage our accounts receivable processes, keeping track of overdue invoices, chasing partners for payment and recording received payments. 
• Support our sales teams with general finance related queries and keeping their partner records up to date on Salesforce (our CRM system).
• Improve, streamline and automate processes within the finance function. 
• Get involved with projects such as:
  • Setting up a simple way to keep track of the subscriptions we pay for, and make sure we’re getting good value from them.
  • Finding solutions to increase the number of invoices paid on time.
  • Creating useful reports and dashboards on Salesforce to aid decision making. 
• Support the Finance Lead to:
  • Prepare the payroll for our accountants (including commission calculations) and manage associated schemes (e.g. pension contributions).
  • Manage our accounts payable processes, making and recording payments. 
  • Work on forecasting and variance analysis to support business planning.
  • Check through our quarterly VAT return.
  • Manage the banking for our much smaller Hong Kong and US companies.
• Support the Head of Finance (your line manager) to:
  • Create the annual budget.
  • Support on ad-hoc projects and data analysis requests.

Who we’re looking for

You’ve got some experience in a finance or operations role, or you can demonstrate that you’ve built the relevant skills in another setting and are ready to learn more.

• You’re organised and methodical, with strong attention to detail that helps keep things running smoothly and accurately.
• You enjoy solving problems and thinking critically about how things can be improved, streamlined or automated.
• You’re quick to learn new systems and tools, you might not have used platforms like Xero or Salesforce before, but you’re keen to get stuck in.
• You take ownership of your work, following through on tasks and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
• You’re proactive and hands-on, excited to go beyond your core responsibilities to improve how we work and help make it a success.
• Being a proficient user of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot table, x-lookup) is a bonus.
• Having an educational background in Finance, Accounting or a Business related discipline is desirable, but not essential. 

Working together

We’re a small but mighty team of 3 within Finance (this role included). You’ll be line managed by the Head of Finance and will be working very closely with our Finance Lead too. You’ll also have regular contact with most people across the Unifrog, especially our partner-facing teams and the People team. You’ll also be liaising with our external accountants who take lead with the financial accounting and payroll side of things.

• This position is advertised as Finance Executive, though internally it will be referred to as Finance Coordinator to better align with Unifrog job titles.

About the opportunity

As Senior IT Project Manager, you'll lead some of our most complex technology programmes. Overseeing delivery of major technology initiatives that directly enhance our ability to support people affected by dementia. You'll line manage a team of IT Project Managers and Project Support Officers. You'll bring out the best in your team while delivering complex, high-impact projects on time and within budget.

This is an important technical leadership role within our Technology Directorate. Working closely with our Project Management Office (PMO) to implement large-scale technology projects using PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies. You'll build relationships across the organisation. Managing cross-functional specialist teams and ensuring our technology infrastructure, systems and applications evolve to meet the needs of those we serve.

About Chapter One

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. 

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports over 3,200 children a year. About the Role

The Finance Assistant has responsibility for a variety of finance functions including the purchase and sales ledger, making payments to suppliers, invoicing Corporate Partners and Schools and reconciling bank accounts. They support the day to day running of the Finance Team ensuring that tasks such as posting invoices, reconciling customer accounts, supporting credit control and chasing non-payments are carried out in a timely and accurate fashion. 

The Finance Assistant reports to and works closely with the Head of Finance and plays a critical role in resolving finance queries from Chapter One colleagues, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting internal processes and contributing to the effective financial management of Chapter One. 

This role is ideal for someone who has experience in a similar position within a finance team and has good working knowledge of accounting principles and a basic understanding of income for charities. They will work remotely and will need to have access to a reliable internet connection. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and the post-holder must be permanently based in the UK at the time of applying and for the duration of their employment.

All Chapter One employees are required to attend quarterly in-person staff meetings held in various locations across the UK (all expenses covered) as well as monthly all staff virtual meetings which are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 12:00 - 13:00; participation is mandatory.

About The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated part-time Data & CRM Officer to lead the implementation and ongoing development of our new Salesforce CRM and to integrate it with our full digital stack using tools like Zapier.

You will play a crucial role in enabling our small Marketing & Communications (MarrComm) team to access accurate, actionable data for our emergency appeals, recurring giving campaigns, petitions, and legacy engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Purpose: The Fundraising and Admin Officer is responsible for delivering key administrative and fundraising activities that support the achievement of Vision Action’s income generation targets. The postholder will take a lead role in researching and applying to smaller trusts and foundations, while contributing to the development of larger funding proposals as needed. - FUNDRAISING (80% of time)
Trusts & Foundations and Prospect Research

• Lead on the development and submission of applications to smaller trusts and foundations (up to £25,000), including drafting proposals, tracking deadlines, and updating the pipeline.
• Maintain and update the pipeline of prospective donors across income streams (trusts, corporates, government, and institutions).

About The Role

This role is about designing and implementing strategies, tools and platforms that support shared learning and collaboration among organisations working towards cleaner air. Working closely with the Head of Learning and Innovation, you will lead a global needs assessment across multiple cities, which will inform the development of a training programme for movement building leads at the city level, with pilots of that approach in two cities. You will develop a knowledge sharing approach, movement building infrastructure, and tools to support sustained engagement. You will also contribute to producing learning products and co-delivering capacity building activities. • Produce a report with an approach for knowledge sharing and movement building.

 Pilot a movement building project in two cities (35%)

• Co-design a movement building model in 2 pilot cities to foster a clean air movement. This will be a practical, replicable guide that defines the essential elements of a high-functioning, impactful CSO movement within a city. 

• Assess the cities’ civil society ecosystems’ gaps and leverage points and map the current landscape of civil society actors working on air quality in each of the 2 cities. This will include analysing their focus areas, strengths, gaps, levels of coordination, and alignment with local policy priorities. 

• Deliver facilitation support for 2 in-person and additional virtual civil society convenings. 

• Co-design a movement building training package, including a guide for future use with guidance on shared strategy, collaboration structures, mapping additional civil society organisations, and communication mechanisms.

Deliver a community of practice amongst a cluster of peer organisations to promote thematic and cross-regional knowledge sharing (20%)

• Produce 3 learning products related to themes that emerge from the needs assessment, providing organisations with suggested tactics and effective projects by their peers.

• Collaborate with the CEO to support/enable them to develop engagement with HFHGB.  Represent HFHGB externally at a senior level, building the organisational profile.

Skills and competencies:

• Extensive knowledge of trusts, foundations and high net worth individual fundraising best practice.
• Proven experience of raising 6 and 7 figure gifts from Trusts, Foundations and High Net Worth Individuals.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans for high value donors/ trusts and foundations.
• A strong track record of overseeing prospect research, pipeline development and delivering growth.
• Extensive experience of producing high quality and compelling donor facing proposals, reports and other materials.
• Experience of fundraising management databases.
• Strong interpersonal and professional network development skills
• Engaging communications style for all stakeholders.
• Empowering and engaging line management style and approach.
• Excellent numeracy skills including experience of financial planning, budgeting, target setting and presenting detailed financial information.
• A self-starter with creative, entrepreneurial energy and confidence to take calculated risks with tenacity to manage setbacks. 
• Strong integrity, showing respect for others, trustworthiness and responsibility.
