Role: Self-employed Independent Fostering Reviewing Officer

Pay -  £33 per hour

We are recruiting Independent  Fostering Reviewing Officer to undertake carer annual reviews. 

Core Tasks

• To carry out statutory annual reviews of Foster Carers.
• To satisfy TACT that the foster carers continue to be suitable to be professional foster carers and that all safeguarding issues are addressed.
• to make recommendation to TACT in regard to foster carers terms of approval.
• To give the carer, the social worker of any child in placement, birth children and fostered children the opportunity to give feedback about the placement
• To be part of TACT’s Quality Assurance processes
• To ensure foster carers are enabling children to reach their full potential

Rates of Pay

• TACT will pay £33.00 per hour plus travel time at £15 per hour (outside of London) or £16.50 per hour (London only) and mileage at 45p per mile.

You will be DipSW, CSS or CQSW qualified and registered with the relevant regulatory body (Social Work England, Social Care Wales or Scottish Social Services Council).

An Enhanced DBS/PVG check will be required for this role and will be undertaken  by TACT on your behalf.

About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented team as a Dementia Adviser. You will have the rewarding experience of providing information, guidance and support to people affected by dementia in West Somerset.
You will;

- Primarily work across the West Somerset area, with the ability to cover other areas of somerset as required.
- Assist people with dementia and their carers in identifying their needs, providing information and guidance to help maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives.
- Build relationships with a range of local contacts, networking with health and care professionals, and providing dementia support. 
- Develop networks and pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless and consistent support and empowering individuals affected by dementia to make informed choices.
- Provide support face-to-face, by telephone and online and keeping detailed and confidential records.

About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an understanding of dementia, and the needs of those living with and those caring for people with the condition. We are looking for someone who is approachable and knowledgeable to join our experienced and passionate team.
Our Dementia Adviser’s provide person centred support for those living with dementia; in their home, face to face, over the telephone and virtually; to give people the tools, knowledge and strategies to live well and make informed decisions about their future. As a community-based worker, you will be required to attend a range of meetings, appointments and venues as well as working from home.

You will;

- Be empathetic and non-judgmental in your approach with a commitment to equal opportunity.
- It is desirable that you have knowledge and experience of Adult and Child Safeguarding, Information Governance policies and procedures and statutory laws such as the Mental Capacity Act
- Have good communication skills to meet the diverse needs of our community and represent their needs to statutory and other voluntary agencies.
- Have a sound knowledge of IT systems to record data, write reports and communicate by email. 
- Understand client confidentiality and how this is applied when representing client needs.
- Preferably had some experience of working with a wide variety of relevant agencies. 
- Have the ability and means to be able to travel independently around Somerset.

About the Role

• Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.  The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to all the women, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
• You will work closely with support workers and the in-house psychologist. You will model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, will be skilled at building trust and you will be a great team player.
• The post holder will undertake 8-hour shifts covering the hours 8am – 8pm, this will include some weekend work. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.

About this exciting opportunity

As Women’s Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users, who will be female adults aged 18 years and above on remand and unsentenced within Cambridgeshire.  This role will involve completing Trauma Informed assessments and developing, in collaboration with each service user, action plans which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

We will also rely on you to create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users and to deliver a range of interventions which contribute towards achieving pre-determined targets.  Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales are both essential aspects of the role, as is providing updates and reports, where required, using a range of formats.

What we are looking for

• Proven ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
• Experience of working with young adults and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, for example people who have complex needs, people who are reluctant to discuss their needs, and people who are angry and confused Experience in delivery of 1:1 and group coaching solutions, including preparation and delivery of skills and learning.
• Experience in working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project.

As a member of our helpline team, you will provide emotional support and practical guidance to individuals in need, responding to calls, emails, and web chats. You will support individuals who have experienced various forms of violence and abuse, including domestic violence, hate crimes, sexual violence, and so-called conversion therapies. Your role will involve offering a compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic ear to those reaching out for help, while carefully assessing each situation to determine the appropriate level of support. You will conduct risk assessments, provide safeguarding assistance, assist with safety planning, signposting, and, when necessary, support with referring individuals on to the right services, always ensuring the highest standards of care and support.
 
About you
 
We are seeking a candidate with experience in providing trauma-informed support to victims and survivors. The ideal candidate will possess strong resilience, a commitment to self-care, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of LGBT victims and survivors. You will be able to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a proactive approach in offering emotional and practical support, while ensuring a safe and empowering environment for those in need.
 
There is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 for this post. It is considered essential that post holders have experience of LGBT needs, and impact of discrimination as the Helpline is run for LGBT victim/survivors of violence and abuse.

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Policy Adviser to join our Policy Solutions team and help deliver a new ambitious 3-year strategy to bring nature back from the brink by delivering a sustainable future in the UK and stopping deforestation overseas. Your remit will be to encourage a global transition to more sustainable land use and resilient food and farming system by using policy to tackle deforestation.

As Senior Policy Adviser your particular focus will be on setting the direction and delivering public policy for deforestation and conversion free and sustainable agricultural supply chains, for the UK and major consumer markets globally, particularly EU and China. You will be building on work of advocacy, campaigns and on the ground programme expertise in the UK and our partner offices.  This role will involve supporting, and at times, leading an iterative process to understand the problem, explore and innovate solutions as well as design and prototype policy. We will look to you to maintain oversight of policy developments in farming, analysing existing and proposed policies for effectiveness and quality and being alert to new policy ideas. You will produce technical reports, coordinate activity with network colleagues and develop links and strategic relationships with other organisations to maximise our impact too.

Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area. The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.

Job Purpose

To support individuals to deescalate mental health crisis and improve mental health and wellbeing of patients in hospital. Promote Mind BLMK services through focussed 1:1s and structured crisis interventions.

The Family Connections practitioner will deliver client centred support depending on the requirements of the individual client. You will be required to manage a caseload, provide appropriate advice and guidance, assess, care plan; deliver structured 1:1 and group-work sessions. About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent (desirable)
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
• An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

About the role:

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.

This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office Victim Support, 3rd Floor, 5-7 Singer Street, London, and in co-location at St Georges Hospital.

As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
• Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships). 
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have strong communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• To understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
• Good communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

• Work with high risk victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. Develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the risks and needs assessment.
• Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults, including the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Adult and Children's Boards.
• Provide advocacy, and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
• Participate fully in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference framework.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring the service.

You will need:

• A SafeLives (or equivalent) IDVA qualification or the willingness to work towards.
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching and influencing others.
• A good understanding of domestic abuse including its impact on victims and their children.
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management.
• Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
• Experience of managing a complex caseload, and be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands.
• Strong crisis management skills
