The charity is now creating a new position – Finance and Administration Lead. This is a stand-alone role with no direct reports as such however this is a leadership position and will play a key role in supporting the charity, staff and members as a whole. The Finance and Administration Lead will guide and work with the team to ensure that the charity is run competently and the needs of the staff and members are met. Key responsibilities include overseeing and managing the day to day finances for the organisation including preparing and monitoring budgets and preparing accounts for audit. You will have overall responsibility for property maintenance, including liaising with their legal and property advisers. You will also lead and support on matters relating to legal, investment and insurance.

The successful candidate will have significant experience and knowledge of managing finance for an organisation, ideally from within the charity or not for profit sector. You will demonstrate excellent knowledge relating to finance systems, processes and procedures and have experience in a leadership capacity. You will have experience of facilities, property or office management and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders. 132 Assessment Centre is for single homeless men and women that have links within the borough. The accommodation provides 6 separate self-contained units with on suite bedrooms, and 1 bedroomed flat. The scheme is staffed 24 hours, with Night Support Workers and Concierge cover during the evenings.

The aim of the project is to assess the individual over a 12-week period with the aim of identifying their support and housing needs. In that period, we will provide a bed for the customer to assist staff to carry out a detailed assessment to ensure that the recommendation for move on into alternative housing is captured correctly to assist move on for the individual into more suitable accommodation which is correct reflective of their needs based on our assessment/recommendation.

The role will be on a shift basis: 7.30am to 3.30pm and 2.00pm to 10pm.The team comprises of: Move on coordinator,Therapist, Housing Officer, 16 Support workers, Team Leaders x 2 and Project Manager.

What you'll do:
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs including support needs and daily living skills. This would include potential risks and an assessment of the customers independent living skills as a whole.
- The initial and co-produced assessment will incorporate models of co-production, observation, and person-centred planning. This is with a view that it is solution focused as to provide a framework for progression towards independent living.
- Liaise with partner agencies regarding the assessment process seeking advice and guidance as to specialist input and clinical input as part of multi-disciplinary assessment process.
- Create support/ action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available.

Purpose of Post

About the Service

The Complex Needs Housing Service works as a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.

Service Objectives

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health with positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) consisting of Change Grow Live (CGL), District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

Main Areas of Responsibility

As the Recruitment Marketing Coordinator, you will play a key role in attracting top talent to one of the leading education trusts in the UK. Your responsibilities will include:

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their Finance team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance experience who is looking to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation that supports people facing financial difficulty across the UK. 

As Finance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day financial processing and operations of our client's company, with a particular focus on maintaining accurate purchase ledger records, processing supplier invoices, and supporting outgoing payments. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure transactions are processed efficiently and in line with their financial procedures. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Accurately processing purchase invoices and credit notes, ensuring correct VAT treatment 

• Manage the finance inbox and respond to queries from staff and suppliers 

• Support the supplier payment process, including manual payments and payment runs 

• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and credit card account reconciliation 

• Assist with the month-end and year-end close, including audit preparation 

• Support general ledger reconciliations and ad hoc finance-related projects

• At least 1 year’s experience in a similar finance or accounting role 

• Familiarity with accounting software (NetSuite experience is an advantage)

We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our team to administer the financial affairs of the District. This role will include working closely with the District Secretary and Treasurer to implement financial policies and controls, assisting with preparing budgets and accounts, managing payroll, processing receipts and payments and maintaining appropriate accounting records. 

Role Purpose and Objectives

Responsibilities

Financial Controls and Policies

• Support the District Treasurer to implement proper financial policies and controls, ensuring appropriate accounting codes for churches and charities are complied with.

Budgets and Accounts

• Assist the District Secretary, Treasurer and Resourcing Mission Committee to prepare budget and circuit assessments for the District with reference to the District Mission Plan.
• Work with the District Secretary and Treasurer to prepare annual accounts for the District, including liaising with the auditors and helping to draft the Trustees’ Annual Report, particularly with regard to accounting practice and policies.
• Support the District Secretary as needed to ensure compliance with the Methodist Church and Charity Commission requirements, including supplying the information for HMRC P11D forms.

Payroll

• Ensure District employees’ and ministers’ payroll information is correct and liaise with the central Methodist payroll bureau so that staff are paid on time.

Administration of Bank Accounts

• Monitor cash flow and administer transfers between bank accounts.
• Set up approved payments in online banking and liaise with signatories to authorise these for payment.
• Liaise with the Treasurer and/or District Secretary on transactions with the Central Finance Board and Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes, preparing paperwork to facilitate drawdown of funds.
• Administer changes to banking mandates.
• Administer changes to Direct Debits and Standing Order instructions.

Receipts and Payments/Book-keeping

• Check invoices and expenses claims for accuracy, before sending to authorised persons for approval.
• Record all bank transactions for all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Produce monthly fund summaries, with detailed analyses.
• Provide monthly ‘sub-accounts’, where required, for specific projects

Other key tasks

• Manage the District’s Financial Record systems, including archiving information as necessary
• With the District Secretary, review and renew the District’s Insurance Policies. 
• Maintain the District’s Asset Register.
• Other duties commensurate with the role as agreed with the District Secretary.
