The Financial Accountant will be a key member in our Finance and Performance team, part of Corporate Services, which supports the capabilities and programmes to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

It is an excellent opportunity to join our small and dedicated finance team. We are looking for a strong technical professional, whose financial expertise and specialist knowledge are a given. The main purpose of the role is to provide technical financial accounting support, with a focus on VAT and HMRC submissions, preparation of statutory accounts and its related trading subsidiary to comply with regulatory and external stakeholder reporting requirements. The role will support the month end tasks to produce the monthly management accounts including the balance sheet reconciliation, working closely with the finance team.

You will: 

· Monitor, maintain, and improve internal financial controls

· Submit quarterly VAT returns

· Produce the Annual Statutory Accounts and lead the annual external audit

· Prepare the weekly cashflow and cashflow forecasting

· Prepare the balance sheet reconciliations working closely with the team to follow up any differences

You: 

· You will have strong knowledge of the Charity SORP, FRS102 and charity VAT

· You will have experience of general ledger and transactional accounting activities including exposure to the balance sheet, accruals, prepayments, journals.

· You will be someone who has strong attention to detail to avoid data errors.

We are seeking a Volunteering and Engagement Coordinator to recruit and develop a diverse team of volunteers, to support our work with families in Barnet, Brent and Harrow.

LUX is seeking an exceptional Deputy Director to help lead its next chapter. This new senior role, created to strengthen internal capacity, operational resilience, and strategic delivery, will work closely with the recently appointed Director, Ali Roche, to shape and implement a vision for the organisation’s future. This role is based at RSA House in London for at least three days per week, with hybrid flexibility for the remaining days.

A successful candidate will: 

• Coordinate meetings of the Board of Trustees and sub-committees, including scheduling, preparing agendas, collating and circulating papers (via Convene), and minute-taking (using AI, at times). 
• Provide proactive administrative support to the Executive Leadership Team as required, including diary management, meeting preparation, and travel arrangements.

The Role

The purpose of the Project and Policy Officer role is to:

• Provide vital project management support to substantial and often fast-paced projects that National Voices runs across its whole organisation including the policy and external affairs team and the evidence and improvement team

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

The philanthropy income team is a team of two, working closely with the Director of Development to secure and steward individual donors. The Role:

We are looking for a motivated and friendly Assistant Manager to support our Shop Manager and team in the effective running of our busy shop. We are seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Officer who will help sustain and grow the organisation’s income. This involves managing timelines for applications and reports, writing high-quality proposals and impact reports (often in collaboration with colleagues in policy, science, communications, and finance), and researching new funding opportunities. 

The role also includes maintaining strong relationships with existing funders by providing timely updates outside of formal reporting, and leading on the drafting of the organisation’s annual report to clearly communicate achievements and impact.

CHEM Trust’s overarching aim is to prevent synthetic chemicals from causing long-term damage to wildlife and people by ensuring that chemicals which cause such harm are substituted with safer alternatives.

Currently, we are primarily funded by trusts and foundations and are very successful, raising significant funds to facilitate the sustained growth of the organisation and our reserves.  We have an ethical funding policy, and it is imperative that we maintain our independence and science-based approach.

Key Duties

• Fundraising activity – preparing compelling and bespoke proposals tailored to donor requirements, ensuring effective stewardship of charitable trust and foundation major gifts within CHEM Trust’s portfolio by building relationships and providing on-time reports and updates.
• Working cross-organisationally, to ensure relevant information is obtained from CHEM Trust’ team members in a timely fashion to report to funders in advance of deadlines.
• Timeline management – keeping an accurate track of the necessary reporting and application deadlines and ensuring these are communicated in good time to relevant team members.
• Developing relationships and networking – including excellent donor stewardship to existing funders and using events, meetings, talks and inspirational writing to help charitable trusts learn about CHEM Trust’s work and understand the difference we are making.
• Recording and maintaining accurate funding data, ensuring records are kept and effectively managed and that CHEM Trust’s fundraising team operates within GDPR.
• Good team working - daily interaction with the fundraising team, wider CHEM Trust team, funding partners and others, plus possible interaction with trustees.
• Leading on the writing of the annual report, tailoring it to be a key document that prospective funders can use to get a succinct overview of CHEM Trust’s vision, goals, and achievements.

Together, the charities Sands and Tommy’s have formed a Joint Policy Unit (JPU) focussed on achieving policy change that will save more babies’ lives during pregnancy and the neonatal period and on tackling inequalities in loss, so that everyone can benefit from the best possible outcomes.

The JPU’s mission is to secure policy change that will reduce rates of miscarriage, stillbirth, pre-term birth and neonatal death, and to work to eliminate inequalities in these outcomes.

While there is widespread agreement on the need for change to improve the safety of maternity and neonatal services, what that change looks like is not clear.  To save more babies’ lives we believe that a continued focus is required, and that governments should set new commitments to reduce perinatal mortality and preterm births, focused on matching the best-performing countries in Europe.

This role will be crucial to the continued success of the JPU unit; leading, shaping and coordinating all the unit’s work. 

We are looking for an independent and assertive problem-solver, a policy expert who can manage multiple priorities, take the initiative, lead the national conversation and is as excited as we are about taking the helm of this venture for both of our organisations.

The successful candidate will need to have a substantial track record of effectively leading and implementing national policy and influencing programmes, driving change and achieving the desired impact.

You will have considerable experience across research, data analysis, policy development, public affairs and communications.  Additionally, you will be well-versed in research and data management, including analysing complex data and evaluating policy developments.

Experience of being a member of a senior management team with successful, significant and relevant management and leadership experience is also essential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Operations Officer to play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of Animal Equality UK’s internal operations and supporter services.

This is a varied role covering administration, finance, data management, supporter care, and event coordination. You will be the first point of contact for many of our supporters and stakeholders, providing excellent service while supporting team members across all departments.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. JOB DESCRIPTION

• Culture and internal support: Act as a culture ambassador, upholding Animal Equality’s values of professionalism, resilience, accountability, and compassion. Strengthen communication between teams and ensure effective use of project management tools. Identify and lead process improvements with guidance from the Operations Manager.
• Supporter and donor care: Serve as the first point of contact for supporter queries via phone, email, post, and social media. Provide excellent donor support, including thanking donors, resolving payment issues, and sending mailings. Maintain supporter and volunteer records accurately in CRM systems and ensure compliance with GDPR.
• Finance and reporting: Process expenses, supplier payments, and support budget forecasting. Assist with Gift Aid claims, monthly data uploads, and finance reports. Prepare scheduled reports and presentations to track progress against objectives.
• Team processes: Support recruitment processes, including application handling, interview coordination, and onboarding/offboarding schedules. Ensure smooth induction for new staff and manage equipment, training resources, and access.
• Events and operations: Assist with the organisation of internal training, team meet-ups, and supporter events. Support health and safety measures for team members and volunteers at peaceful protests, undertaking risk assessments and first aid training. Manage stock and campaign materials, fulfil supporter requests, and oversee mailing logistics.
• Data and systems: Conduct database cleansing and maintain accurate supporter, volunteer, and executive records.
• Represent Animal Equality’s culture: Support Animal Equality’s life-saving work by producing high-quality output, embracing and representing the organisation’s culture principles proudly at all times, and supporting our philanthropic efforts.
• Support with other ad hoc duties, as requested by your line manager.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have grown rapidly in recent years, and now have an exciting and varied programme of work which is funded from a wide range of sources. We have long-standing, high-value relationships with organisations such as the Mayor’s Office, Esmée Fairbairn and Clifford Chance, and continue to grow our income from a range of supporters from trusts, foundations, corporates, individuals and community fundraisers.

We now have a need for an Officer to work closely with the Development Director and CEO in developing our corporate income stream, managing the accounts of existing corporate partners and generating income through securing new corporate partnerships. These partnerships will generate both donations and earned income, with corporate partners contracting Tender to deliver workplace training. You will also work closely with our Corporate Advisory Board, which includes a diverse, ambitious group of professionals who are supporting us to maximise our corporate income stream. The Personal Assistant role is pivotal to the success of the charity and provides a high standard of administrative support and personal assistance to the CEO. You will also provide administrative support to the Interim Finance Director and Interim COO.

• Provide high level of confidential PA duties, administrative and project support to the CEO, Interim Finance Director and Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) to enable the smooth and effective running of the charity

You will demonstrate strong diary and email management abilities, accurate minute-taking for senior meetings, and proficiency across Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and remote communication tools such as Zoom and Teams. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with discretion in handling confidential information and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Experience in event coordination, document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive), and working in a fast-paced office environment is also required.

Desirably, the candidate may bring an interest in the screen sector, policy or education, experience with visual content tools like Canva, familiarity with AI tools, social media management, and the ability to provide basic tech troubleshooting. A calm, confident manner and experience working in a matrix environment would be advantageous.

This role is primarily office based (near Barbican) with 4 days a week in the office and 1 day a week from home. The core working hours are 9-5pm. Some very occasional evening or weekend working may be required but TOIL will be provided on those occasions.
