We are looking for a skilled and organised Programme Coordinator to join our delivery team and help deliver programmes that are meaningful and impactful for young people. Through residential visits to our working farms, we provide a nurturing environment where young people can reflect, build confidence, and develop the resilience they need to overcome personal challenges.

More about the role: This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our programme delivery. You will spend much of your time working directly with young people, helping them engage fully in farm life through the shared routines and activities of the day, from feeding rounds and walks to mealtimes and evening activities. You will also lead sessions and bring practical skills that enrich the programme experience.

Alongside this, you will build and maintain strong relationships with partner schools and organisations, helping to create programmes that are well coordinated and have lasting impact for young people.

About you : We are looking for someone with professional experience working with diverse groups of young people, with exceptional communication, teamwork and organisational skills. You will be able to build strong relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations, influence and motivate others, and contribute positively to the wider vision and goals of the charity. Experience in a school, social work or similar setting would be helpful, as would experience of delivering inspiring practical sessions for young people or a specialism that would contribute to farm life.

Job Title: Safe Ground Families Manager

Location: Based within HMP Altcourse, Fazakerley, Liverpool. Step Free access is available at this service. You may be expected to travel to other services as required, including to Central London Central Office and for in-person meetings held off site. 

Salary: £38,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours as per service and organisational requirements, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays and forming part of the out of hours on call rota for managers.

Safe Ground isn’t a typical organisation, and this isn’t a typical management role. We work inside prisons, using creative, therapeutic approaches to strengthen relationships between men and their families. Our work is rooted in connection, reflection, and real change, often in environments that aren’t designed for either.

We’re looking for a Families Manager to lead our flagship service at HMP Altcourse. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is confident working in complex, fast-paced environments and motivated by the opportunity to create meaningful change within the prison system. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team delivering arts-based group programmes, family counselling, and practical family support. You’ll shape how these different elements come together, holding the quality of the work, supporting your team, and making sure families are at the heart of what we do.

This role will suit someone who:

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Line Management throughout the employee lifecycle embedding a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation.
• Creative leadership of creating and delivering engaging high-quality services and interventions which support rehabilitation, reintegration, and culture shifts in systems of power and compliance.
• Manage day-to-day operational delivery of programmes, the service, and visitors centre.
• Ensure core responsibilities and contractual requirements are fulfilled.
• Striving to ensure excellence and quality in our service delivery.

• Managing Programme Coordinators, Facilitators, Family Counsellors and a Deputy Service Manager, empowering the team to support operational booking for all social visits and deliver nationally recognised programmes. 

• Leading the delivery of nationally recognised programmes including Fathers Inside and Man Up which have received national recognition being delivered nationally across custodial and community settings.

• Bringing strong leadership experience managing a diverse team, with line management responsibilities to support, enable, and empower your team to deliver high quality support to the participants of our programmes and their families
• Working closely with prison and Sodexo colleagues, alongside internal SIG teams, to ensure services are innovative, safe and compassionate.

About You

This role will suit you if you believe change happens through relationships, not control. You lead with warmth and clarity, and you’re able to hold care and accountability at the same time. You’re comfortable working in a prison environment and engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. You will be knowledgeable of the criminal justice setting, and ideally have experience within a similar environment. We’re looking for a proactive, grounded leader who can support and stretch a team to do their best work. You’ll be confident managing a service day-to-day, navigating challenges as they arise, and keeping the quality of the work high.

• Previous experience experience of leading a team or service in a similar setting
• Be confident facilitating groups and/or delivering training (ideally within a creative or therapeutic context)
• Build great relationships quickly, creating trust with both staff and participants
• Support, motivate and develop staff through clear, consistent line management
• Balance people focused leadership with delivering against KPIs and service requirements
• Promote the service externally and build positive relationships with partner organisations
• Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including occasional on-call responsibilities
• IT proficiency - we use various systems so look for someone who can learn and navigate new systems including case management, Microsoft, ATS, HR systems, and other types of organisational software.

We are currently recruiting a Programmes Facilitator to work within HMP Channings Wood. Our ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. 

We are seeking a committed and dynamic person to support the delivery of substance misuse interventions within a custodial setting. In this role, you will work directly with individuals in prison who are affected by drug and alcohol use, helping them to understand their behaviours, build motivation for change, and engage in structured recovery‑focused programmes.

You will facilitate group sessions, complete assessments, and provide 1:1 support that promotes harm reduction, stabilisation, and long‑term recovery. Working closely with prison staff, healthcare teams, and partner agencies, you will ensure that every individual receives safe, effective, and person‑centred support.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about empowering people to overcome substance misuse challenges, able to build rapport in a fast‑paced environment, and motivated to help improve outcomes and reduce re‑offending.

Where: HMP Channings Wood 

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. 

Responsibilities

About the role:

• You will work with service users to initiate recovery from drug and/or alcohol dependence, to enable service users in the prison to build their own recovery capital and to support them to move into long term sustained recovery and social (re)integration.
• To develop and deliver group psychosocial interventions. This involves facilitating Foundations of Rehabilitation programme, in addition to pod working tailored to the needs of the caseload.
• To be creative and innovative so that the post best meets the needs of the service user, promoting access into treatment, and encouraging engagement with underrepresented communities.
• Assess suitability for groups related to risk and special needs, working closely with prison partners to schedule attendance.

About you:

• Sensitivity in working with complex and diverse needs.
• Demonstrate a strong recovery focus and have knowledge of a range of psychosocial interventions.
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
• Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others.
