We are looking for a Challenge Events Fundraiser to join our team at Scope.
As the Challenge Events Fundraiser, you will support the Challenge events team in delivering Scope’s Challenge events Fundraising strategy. This is a busy role in a small team.
The role
The role has a combination of responsibilities across product management and challenge event fundraising.
You will:
- be responsible for end-to-end management of some fundraising events and products in the portfolio.
- manage relationships with individuals, groups and organisations fundraising for Scope.
- have a stewardship focus and put our supporters first when developing supporter journeys or materials.
- provide administrative support to the team, assist in the innovation and growth of our challenge events programme as well as event logistics and stewardship.
About you
This is a busy role in a small team. So, we need someone who is comfortable juggling multiple priorities and working with many stakeholders.
You will:
- have experience in fundraising, ideally in challenge events or similar.
- have experience in developing stewardship and engagement communications.
- have a basic understanding of fundraising principles and practices, including fundraising compliance and data protection.
- have experience in managing projects to meet deadlines. Ideally within a challenge events setting.
- be creative, collaborative and organised.
- be able to work efficiently in a busy environment, deal with conflicting priorities and manage own workload.
- be passionate about supporter experience and raising funds to enable Scope to continue the work that we do.

Job Purpose
This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
- To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
- To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis via a drop-in service.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
The Role
The role of the support workers will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.

We are looking for a Digital Fundraising Lead to join the mass fundraising and engagement team at Scope.
In this exciting new role, you will be responsible for developing Scope’s digital fundraising strategy and embedding this across mass fundraising income streams as well as supporter led fundraising.
As the senior subject matter expert at Scope, you will lead your team in using an insight led approach to optimise digital campaigns and you will work with teams to improve the effectiveness of digital recruitment channels and the use of digital channels to improve supporter retention and the lifetime value of existing supporters.

About the role:
The role is home working, however the team collectively cover England and Wales, so the ability to travel with occasional overnight stays is vital.

What you'll do:
As the Service Manager you will be required to successfully apply for CQC registration for regulated activity and/or registered services within 6 months of appointment. You will ensure that your teams meet all statutory requirements and that all support is delivered in compliance with CQC expectations and Look Ahead's policy and procedures. You will take responsibly for maintaining compliance with the regulations and ensure that the appropriate notifications are made where necessary.
You will be responsible for the effective management of all aspects of service delivery, including line managing the relevant front line staff as well as effectively managing all stakeholder relationships in partnership with the Head of Operations. You will lead and manage the teams ensuring that Positive Behaviour Support is embedded in the service and provide ongoing coaching and support to allow staff to effectively support customers with high needs.
Leadership Accountabilities:
- Successfully lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing and ongoing maintenance of a positive performance culture within your service
- Work to continuously improve staff competence, ensure ownership of all staff issues and speedy and effective conflict resolution - this includes but is not limited to staff supervision, coaching, team meetings, reflective practice and training
- Responsible for reporting all staff changes to HR and Payroll departments, as appropriate e.g. starters, leavers, additional hours etc.
- Deliver effective, professional and commercially focused briefings and supervision meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting & communications flow up/down is effective
- Responsible for managing and allocating customers to support staff (casework management)
- Where appropriate to role, carry client group specialism activities, linking in with other Managers and Heads of Operations to ensure focussed integration of specialisms across the whole organisation
- Develop and maintain excellent internal management relationships with all other Look Ahead departments and functions, ensuring sharing of best practice and supporting initiatives to improve organisational performance

- Drive business planning activities within your contract, ensuring relevant and challenging objectives are set and ongoing performance tracking, developing turn around action plans as necessary
- Using sound financial and accounting principles, manage contract budgets to deliver on corporate and local contract financial targets
- Develop key business relationships with all relevant customers/external parties to ensure service delivery excellence and maximise new business opportunities in own patch
- Have sound knowledge of the customers living in the service and be able to promote their wellbeing and quality of life
- Plan, organise and prioritise operations within your contract to ensure maximum efficiencies/utilisation of all resources
- Working with your team, lead creative and ambitious customer involvement plans across the patch and ensure successful implementation
- Lead quality visits, using Look Ahead's local indicators to monitor quality/performance, set targets and lead action plans to ensure highly rated services that reflect requirements of local funders and local and national standards
- Responsible for producing and submitting Monthly Management Reports to the Performance team, ensuring that all data gathered on local KPI's are accurate and up to date
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across contract portfolio ensuring Look Ahead continues to set and achieves sector best practice standards and is held as a benchmark to competitors
- Within your service, ensure competent use of all relevant business IT systems and all company policies and frameworks
- Responsible for managing petty cash for the service in accordance with Look Ahead procedures
- Deliver an out of hours on-call service for region
- Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies are adhered to throughout the service, to review at local level and ensure staff are competent and suitably trained
- Ensure that all safeguarding cases are managed in line with safeguarding protocols and are reported to Head of Operations Managers

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Lead to join the Supporter Led fundraising team at Scope.
You will be responsible for strategically developing and delivering Scope’s Community Fundraising income stream. You will lead your team in the development and growth of our community fundraising, including the development of do it yourself (DIY) fundraising products to support community fundraising efforts.
You will be responsible for setting and reporting on clear objectives and key performance indicator (KPI) milestones to deliver the community fundraising strategy.
