The Diocese of Chester is seeking to recruit an Interim Ministry Support Officer, to cover the secondment of a key staff member for a period of 9 months. The post holder will:

• Provide interim support to the Diocesan Ministry Team with a particular focus on Initial Ministerial Training Phase 2 (IME 2) provision and support for those moving into Posts of First Responsibility.
• Administer and run the established programme of training for all curates in their first three years, including the organisation of end of year reports and the Assessment at End of Curacy process
• Ensure good pastoral care is offered consistently to all involved in IME2 and First Posts and endeavour to ensure the process is a positive experience for all involved

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be committed to collaborative ministry, with a proven ability to work well within a newly established and highly motivated team. They will have a proven ability to undertake detailed work involving planning, process and organisation, including meeting specific deadlines.

The Role

We are seeking a driven, talented, energetic and creative individual for the role of Director of Development. This is a one-year maternity cover post.

In this role, you will work closely with and report to the Principal and Chief Executive and will be responsible for implementing and delivering a comprehensive and coherent fundraising strategy for LAMDA.

You will lead and deliver major gift campaigns, including the biennial Gala, to ensure the sustainability and success of LAMDA as the world’s leading centre for drama training. With the ability to work collegiately and collaboratively with all staff and stakeholders, you will have demonstrable experience in implementing and delivering a successful major fundraising strategy.

To be successful, you will be confident and proactive, a verbal and written communicator and a skilled networker with a very strong track record of relationship building. Additionally, you will have proven experience of working in a senior fundraising role in the arts, higher education or charity sector.

In this role, you will work 35 hours per week (9.30 am – 5.30 pm), Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work outside these hours to attend events and productions in accordance with business needs.

Programme Manager role

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Programme Manager(s) to join our existing Programme Team in September 2024 on a full or part-time basis (6-month fixed-term with potential to extend).  As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Yes Futures programmes in-person, in our partner primary and secondary schools in North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire.

Main Responsibilities

You will be one of a small team of Programme Managers, dedicated to delivering excellent programmes which make a positive difference to the lives of students.  The main responsibilities of the Programme Manager role are:

Programme delivery

• Responsible for the care and wellbeing of all students in your schools on the programme;
• Communicating with parents where necessary during the programme, by email, letter and telephone;
• Planning and delivering whole-group workshops for students;
• Planning and delivering information and celebration events for students and parents;
• Facilitating the in-person and online volunteer coaching team to deliver student coaching sessions. As well as delivering coaching sessions to students, where required;
• Developing business and charity partnerships for day trips;
• Planning and delivering the day trips included in the programme;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of the Into the Wild and World of Work day trips;
• Implementing discipline procedures, including reporting serious discipline issues;
• Implementing all necessary Health and Safety and Child Protection procedures, including recording and reporting any incidents;
• Ongoing communication with the school and Yes Futures head office regarding student engagement and progress.

Organisation and administration

• School onboarding, including ensuring that dates are planned, students are recruited and parental agreements are returned;
• Planning and organising the logistical elements of the programme (timetables, activities, sessions plans etc) through liaising with Yes Futures head office, school staff, businesses, charitable organisations and the rest of the Coaching team;
• Creation of Risk Assessments, parent letters and programme-related documents for schools;
• Sourcing materials needed for programme sessions, including lunches for trips;
• Assisting with finance and petty cash where required.

Management of volunteer Yes Futures Coaches

• Managing and developing the skills of your Coaching teams (usually 2-6 adults per school);
• Ongoing communication with your Coaching teams, to foster their enthusiasm and commitment;
• Supporting Coach recruitment for future programmes;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of training for Coaches;
• Maintaining accurate and secure records of Coaches’ personal information, absences, sickness and other relevant information.

Evaluation and reporting

• Facilitating the pre-, mid- and end of programme evaluations;
• Oversight and input of key student monitoring data and impact data;
• Debriefing and ongoing feedback collection from schools and Coaches;
• Ensure all work is carried out in an effective and timely manner to support continued high standards of the Yes Futures programmes.

Programme Managers will also be given the opportunity to support with other Head Office functions, including but not limited to:

• Strengthening our strategy, programme design and theory of change;
• Supporting the marketing of Yes Futures to new schools and customers;
• Developing our fundraising strategy through bid writing and other fundraising tasks;
• Establishing relationships with key partner organisations;
• Planning our future Ambassador offer and other pilot programmes.

Ideally, we are looking for a Programme Manager to start by late August/ early September in order to provide a comprehensive induction and handover prior to the next delivery cycle in September (though there may be some flexibility to accommodate the right candidate).

Stepping Stones exists to improve the lives of adults with learning disabilities. We are seeking an enthusiastic and agile manager who will be at the heart of the organisation and will lead a small team of qualified tutors and volunteers in continuing to provide high quality experiences for the people who attend. Stepping Stones is a community that loves to socialise and learn new skills together. Our current programme includes art, dance, drama and music, together with digital skills and cooking.

This role is responsible for strategic development with the guidance of the Board of Trustees, income generation, and the management of all aspects of service delivery. It is our intention to appoint a new post of Activity Co-ordinator to support the Charity Manager as budgets allow. You will play an active part in designing this role so that it enhances our delivery and increases capacity within the organisation.

Stepping Stones is a thriving, longstanding and highly valued community organisation. We have delivered activities for over 30 years and our weekly classes are an important part of the lives of people who attend.

Our main delivery is a timetable of up to 14 weekly classes from our base in a multipurpose community centre. We also have activities off site including gardening at a local allotment and music and art classes at a day centre and residential home. Each week over 100 people benefit from our activities.

We’re looking for a Country Manager who is, at heart, a peacebuilder. You will be someone willing to lead by your example, coaching, inspiring and giving technical support as you spend time with peacebuilding teams across the north of CAR, including three Hub Peacebuilding Managers in local offices in the borderlands, up to eight programme officers and over 300 local peacebuilders who form our Advisory Groups.

Living in Bangui, you’ll report directly to the Regional Director and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.

The needs in CAR are immense, and we need you to have the vision and motivation to look beyond programme delivery, as important as that is, and to identify new opportunities and new funding for additional programming. You’ll support the team as they design, develop and source funding for new work that will a deliver measurable change for peace.

You will be someone who is curious and keen to spend time with people in the borderlands, where conflict is fought and felt. You will also have the confidence and ability to be part of high-level meetings with ministers and ambassadors, amplifying voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based, conflict sensitive policy making.

Role Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for technical peacebuilding aspects of Concordis’ work in CAR

• Responsible for leading on all aspects of peacebuilding in delivering an ambitious but realistic borders programme to time and to budget, meeting all contractual requirements of the donor
• Responsible for providing managerial oversight in developing and delivering strategic work plans in accordance with donor log frames to achieve delivery of all activities and outcomes, reporting on these to the donor
• Develop opportunities to use the significant flexibility built into this contract to maximise impacts for peace, beyond pure contractual terms, negotiating these with the donor
• Visionary leadership with the staff team, key stakeholders and international donors to identify gaps in peacebuilding provision and to develop opportunities for future work that will meet identified needs, be locally owned and deliver measurable impact

Influence policymaking and advocacy

• Represent Concordis in CAR with high-level engagement with local, national, regional and international decision makers, using evidence from the programme to influence policymaking
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, then use this access to amplify voices that are often ignored, engaging with Government officials, Diplomatic staff, Regional bodies that support Central African countries (eg COMIFAC, ECCAS, CEMAC, OFAC etc), UN and multilateral agencies and humanitarian and developmental staff
• Participate actively in regional conferences and negotiations to ensure that the voices of people in the borderlands are heard, and that locally-led and conflict sensitive solutions are reflected in strategic decision-making

Responsible for strategic programme development

• Building and maintain relationships that may lead to new funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral and other institutional donors
• Provide strategic support to fundraising providing timely information to support the development of new bids and engaging directly with donors

Leadership responsibility in the Regional Team

• Member of the Central African Regional Senior Leadership Team and will lead the CAR Country Senior Leadership Team supported collaboratively by the CAR Finance Manager
• Responsible for line managing three Peacebuilding Hub Managers
• Responsible for giving coaching, mentoring and technical support to the peacebuilding team in CAR, inspiring them in their roles and focusing their efforts to deliver rapid and sustainable results, whilst ensuring that staff development needs are met
• Promote clear lines of communication between staff members and offices, across the Central African Regional programme and with staff in the UK. Lead or participate in a system of team meetings, one-to-ones and informal gatherings

Salary: £43,000 per annum

Main purpose of role: To manage the day-to-day running of our grant programmes to organisations and support the practical implementation of any new grant programmes from application process through to due diligence and record maintenance.

Main duties and responsibilities:  

Grant management 

• Act as the first point of contact for grants to organisations.
• Manage a portfolio of organisational grants that deliver our theory of change outcomes.
• Provide full grant management of our organisational grants, including: preparing grant deeds, keeping track of payments and reporting requirements, distilling learning, to grant renewal considerations.
• Organise and conduct regular meetings with funded organisations to learn alongside organisations and see the work in action.
• Implement grant making processes that reflect best practice and encourage learning through our grant making.

Grant programme development

The Grants Officer will be a member of the Biomedical Grants and Policy Department. You will work with a Grants Manager to administer a portion of the Academy’s portfolio of grants schemes and activities.

You will act as a key point of contact for external liaison relating to the schemes. Working with the other Grants Officers and the rest of the Team, you will also help to develop and deliver events for Academy grant holders, as well as contribute to the Academy’s wider portfolio of work, and the delivery of our new strategy.

1. Processing applications, determining eligibility, and coordinating peer review of eligible applications.

What will you be doing?

This role is integral to the quality and safety of the organisation, supporting registered services and their registered managers to meet the extensive legal requirements of the regulatory frameworks within which they operate.

Reporting to the Head of Quality Improvement, your key responsibilities will include overseeing compliance and management and the complaints handling process and co-ordinating local authority tender responses.

You will also oversee relevant Hft’s policies and procedures. In addition, you will provide full training plus an ongoing advisory service to Registered Managers and other colleagues. This role is part of the wider Quality and Governance Portfolio.

Who are you?

The successful candidate will be educated to degree standard or be able to demonstrate equivalent and relevant professional experience. A qualification in complaints handling, management and safeguarding are desirable. You will also have experience in risk management of regulatory compliance.

Experience of advising at senior leadership level, producing management information is key. You will also be used to working at pace and delivering against agreed objectives. Experience of delivering compliance training and managing people is also essential. With excellent written and communication skills and the ability to work with a range of MS Office software, you will display attention to detail and have strong decision-making skills.

The EDI Learning & Organisational Development Manager will play both a strategic and operational role in driving change through learning, leading as a member of the EDI team.

This position will lead the design, development and delivery of our strategic EDI learning program, supporting the needs of our whole workforce, including our volunteers. The successful candidate will develop close relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation, working collaboratively to support the transformation in behaviours and skills required to make the RSPB a more inclusive, diverse, and welcoming place for all.  You’ll be a leader in the EDI space, with opportunities for creativity, innovation and thinking differently to how we engage and embed learning on inclusion, in an accessible, inspiring way.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a strategic EDI learning plan, to build the RSPB’s capability on a creating a more inclusive workplace culture.
• Align with L&OD team on creating consistency of learning approaches and key messages across the organisation’s learning offer.
• Build expert knowledge and skill within the organisation on EDI, prioritising any current programme key themes.
• Identify skills gaps and future learning requirements, keeping abreast of latest learning and development products and approaches. This would include a keen understanding and application of accessibility, neurodiversity and different learning needs, to support and upskill the EDI team and other colleagues.
• Curate, develop and design EDI learning content, including online, and assess relevant EDI learning and development options. Including workshops, action learning sets and peer support sessions.
• Working with EDI specialists to consider and incorporate a range of approaches and best practice to the EDI learning offers.
• Co-ordinate the logistics of training programmes and identify external training partners.
• Embed solid evaluation processes across learning interventions, analyse and provide reports on key recommendations and findings to stakeholders including programme board.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally including within Environmental, Conservation and NGO partners – to network, share good practice and develop partnerships or learning opportunities.
• Support and develop the capability of any direct line reports around EDI Learning and Development.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Knowledge and experience of designing, developing and delivering high quality, engaging training programmes, workshops and educational resources. Ideally to a wide range of audiences in a workplace or post-16 setting.
• Experience of the full training lifecycle from needs analysis through to developing strategic approaches for meeting those needs.
• Excellent up-to-date knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues across a range of characteristics, including the Equality Act.
• An ability to build relationships with, and persuade and influence people at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong IT user with a willingness to develop further skills.
• Experience with delivering training online and good practices around creating accessible online training or education resources.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to demonstrate leadership without line management.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and to all levels.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions.
• Experience in project management and budgeting.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Teaching or training qualifications.
• Knowledge of barriers to marginalised or underrepresented people in conservation sectors.
• Experience of designing training and resources around EDI or culture/ behaviour change.
• Experience of the conservation, environmental or charity sector.

About the role:

When a person or their family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience. They can experience a huge drop in confidence, lose their independence and can feel isolated and that no one understands what they’re going through. Back Up was started by volunteers and our volunteers remain at the heart of everything we do, including shaping and delivering our range of services.

The Volunteer Development Assistant will be the main point of contact for volunteer enquiries and requests and will work across Back Up to understand volunteer needs in order for the volunteer team to grow and support delivery of our life changing services. They will be responsible for the administration and coordination of the annual calendar of volunteer training events ensuring that prospective volunteers feel supported and well prepared, and everything is in place for delivery of high-quality training.

• Manage the working practice and support the development of team members within the Programmes team including direct line management of the x2 Senior Expedition Coordinators.
• Recruit and induct senior expedition leaders (Chief Leaders) with the support of the Programmes team.
• Act as the key contact for Chief Leaders during the planning phases of expedition programmes.

• Support the Curriculum, Impact and Training Manager, in the management, planning and delivery of training events for both Leaders and Young Explorers.

• Recruit and assess high quality and appropriately skilled volunteer leader teams for upcoming expeditions. 
• Support the Head of Programmes and Expeditions to develop expedition budgets and forecast expenditure to inform future planning.
• Manage processes and relationships with team members and external providers to ensure cost-effective practice.
• Support senior expedition leaders to deliver expeditions on budget.
• Manage the process of reconciliation following the return of our programmes.
• Review and develop organisational policies and operating procedures to ensure and maintain best practice, working with Technical Advisors as appropriate.
• Liaise with external auditors as appropriate to ensure compliance with BSI 8848, AALA and the Learning Outside the Classroom quality assurance criteria.
• Support expedition Chief Leaders and colleagues to develop risk and incident management protocols appropriate for the expedition location and client group.
• Participate in the Operations Sub-Committee and main board meetings with trustees as necessary.
• Represent the charity as an ambassador in a range of public fora.
• The Expedition Manager may be delegated responsibility for the oversight and development of specific process areas as appropriate.
• Liaise with external suppliers to arrange and review annual staff training for the Duty Operations team. 
• Be ‘on call’ during operational periods as part of a duty rota.
• Act as Senior Duty Officer to lead, manage and coordinate responses to field incidents or crises.

Day Opportunities Manager – working with adults with learning disabilities

Salary:                                up to £28,350 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Responsible for: Day Opportunity coordinators, seniors and support workers, volunteers and service users

We have an exciting opportunity to join Centre 404’s Learning and Leisure team as the manager of our Day Opportunities service.  This service supports adults with a wide range of needs to be active members of the community, increase their independence, develop their life skills and set themselves goals and achievements to work towards.

The post holder will be responsible for line managing the team who plan and deliver a broad programme of social and educational community-based activities.  You will oversee the smooth running of the service and be responsible for quality assurance while ensuring the identified aims of the programme are met. You will also oversee all associated administration, the recruitment and management of relevant staff and volunteers, and contribute to the running and ongoing development of the service.

The role will involve balancing multiple priorities, including strategic planning as well as hands-on work alongside the rest of the team, ensuring a person-centred approach is maintained at all times and involving people in decision-making structures. There is ample scope for personal and professional development.

This job does require you to be an experienced manager who has planned and developed sessions for people with learning disabilities and led and motivated a team to ensure positive outcomes for people using the service.
