Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technical Officer, Enterprise  to support the design, implementation and knowledge exchange of conservation enterprises and related local sustainable finance mechanisms that generate finance for conservation and/or improve the livelihoods of local communities at Fauna & Flora’s projects around the world.

You will be supporting business model development, private sector partnerships, project management, fundraising, capacity development and communications. You will work closely with our regional programme and partners in 20-plus countries, who are working on the ground to deliver conservation impact. 

You will be a highly motivated and organised individual, looking to apply your expertise in business and finance to solve conservation challenges. You will have an understanding of developing business plans and developing financial models. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures as well as from rural entrepreneurs to corporates and investors. You will enjoy applying your business skills to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills and passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.

Fluency in English is essential and French is highly desirable. Knowledge of language relevant to Fauna & Flora’s work, such as Bahasa, Swahili, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish, will be highly valuable.

Fauna & Flora is part of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative in The David Attenborough Building, providing a great platform for collaboration with other conservation organisations and University of Cambridge departments and institutions. You will be joining a diverse team with global responsibilities and the role offers the opportunity to work within a ground-breaking and entrepreneurial organisation, at the forefront of global conservation.

This position will be based in Cambridge with international travel as required to meet project needs.

The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing Living Well Bromley’s strategic and operational plans, leading on partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries.

They will lead a senior management team of three (the Operations Manager, Funding and Communications Manager and Advocacy Manager).They will be responsible for ensuring financial control and supporting and advising on governance best practice across all aspects of the charity.

The Meridian One Community Garden serves as a space where we focus on cultivating fruit, salad, and vegetable produce. We involve the local community by hosting weekly volunteer gardening sessions, welcoming school visits, and organising various community events.

TCV is seeking a Senior Project Officer with expertise in community engagement, event coordination, and managing community facilities. The garden, which was established one year ago, encompasses facilities such as an office, a community meeting/education room, toilets, and a spacious polytunnel.

The Senior Project Officer will oversee a range of tasks including planning and executing community events, maintaining site Health & Safety, leading volunteers in practical projects like building wooden planters, tending to garden plants, and ensuring timely completion of administrative duties such as procurement, risk assessments, social media updates, and task reporting. They will also lead activities for the under 5’s Nature Explorers group, school visits, themed evening events, and family weekends. Additionally, they'll organise corporate volunteering sessions and cover holiday shifts for the Green Gym gardening program. Previous events have included 'Pampering and Enrichment,' 'Repurpose, Recycle, Reinvent' workshops, and a Black Women in Conservation and Horticulture photo exhibition, as well as our weekend family events featuring free food, music, and arts and crafts activities.

This role involves being friendly and open to various people who visit, from the toddlers attending the Nature Explorers club, to our volunteer gardeners, to senior staff from the local authority. There are two other people working part-time at the garden, and TCV provides thorough training and support from a helpful local team.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience of gardening and/or nature conservation. However, what’s equally important is that the Senior Project Officer has initiative, is welcoming, and comfortable working with a wide range people. We’d therefore welcome applications from candidates who can display those personable qualities, with perhaps experience of working in a community centre setting.

In Spring 2024, TCV will be taking on the management of an additional nearby meanwhile space. The new Senior Project Officer will join us at an exciting time when we begin to turn that space into a new community tree nursery. Working with local people to gather seeds from significant trees in the surrounding area, we aim to grow saplings which will go on to be distributed for planting around London.

Working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Given the nature of the role the Senior Project Officer will need to work from the garden during these times. Occasionally, to avoid lone working in the absence of another colleague, there will be the opportunity to work from home. Weekend family events take place on Saturdays, four times a year and there are approximately six evening events which take place between April to September. This post holder would be expected to attend those evening and weekend events.

Job Purpose - Facilities Manager - Projects 

The role holder will report directly to the Head of Estates whilst working closely with the Facilities Manager and the wider team, as well as operational colleagues.

The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of specific ad hoc estates projects, whilst also providing support to the wider Estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activity to ensure the development of an estate that delivers outstanding outcomes for the people we support, ensuring the portfolio is managed safely, cost effectively and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

This role requires an individual with strong project management capability within an estate’s environment, with a demonstrable track record of delivery of projects on time, to Budget and to the requisite level of quality.

Reporting directly to the Head of Estates, the role holder will: 

• Lead the estates input in the expansion of the existing property footprint.
• Onboard new additions to the estate’s property portfolio efficiently and effectively.
• Work collaboratively with operational colleagues ensuring “best outcomes” are delivered for the people we support in the development and maintenance of the estate.
• Support the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activities.
• Be visible and on site to ensure the smooth running of projects and the timely resolution of issues. 

Dimensions

Whilst the role currently has no direct reports assigned, the level of project activity and the consequential resource requirements will determine any additional staffing needs. The nature of individual projects will determine this although it is anticipated that project spend will be circa £0.5m+ per annum.

Principal Accountabilities

Estates and Facilities Management 

• Responsibility: Act as the senior estates and facilities professional on project work assigned. 

• Project Plans: Ensure there is a clear and documented estates plan for each project assigned and lead the implementation of these plans to ensure best possible outcomes for the people we support. In the planning and delivery of projects, the role holder must ensure that due consideration is given to operational requirements. 

• Project Performance: Ensure a robust contract performance management framework is in place for each project. 

• Regulatory: Ensure all project work is undertaken in accordance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements. 

• Resource Management: Manage and co-ordinate both AFG staff and external contractors in the delivery of projects. Where required mitigating actions/plans may need to be taken to ensure that projects are delivered to requirements. 

• Onboarding: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. property acquisition (both support with the identification of appropriate property and subsequent due diligence). 

• Expansion: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. the expansion of existing estates footprint. 

• Business Cases: Prepare business cases, feasibility studies for consideration by the Head of Estates and onwards by the Executive/Director team. 

• Business as Usual Estates Activity: The role holder will be required to work alongside the Estates Manager and the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual estates activity (including site visits, contract monitoring meetings, supervision of reactive repairs etc.), where project requirements mean the role holder has capacity to undertake this work. 

Financial Management

• Financial Performance: Manage project related budgets, ensuring projects are delivered to Budget, to the requisite quality and to time. 

• Procurement: Work closely with the Procurement team to source potential suppliers for services and ensure those services are sourced on a “Value for money” (VFM) basis, and in accordance with the terms of the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Tenders: Working closely with the Procurement function of the Charity, take the estates lead in tender activity where assigned, ensuring that activity is undertaken in accordance with the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Cost Reduction/Service Improvement: Lead in ensuring we are continually striving to reduce cost/improve service provision. 

• Commercial Acumen: Commercially savvy to drive continuous improvement opportunities (both financial and operational). 

Sustainability, Efficiency, and Innovation 

• Estates Development: Ensure development activity within the estate takes account of environmental considerations/technological advances in the go-forward design.

ARMA (UK) is the professional association for research management in the UK. We currently have around 3,5000 individual members from 250 organisations, ranging from universities and research institutes to research funders and the National Health Service.

We’re the Portman Group, the UK’s self-regulatory body for alcohol marketing and we are looking for someone to provide advice and training to the alcohol industry on our marketing rules.  We have two Codes of Practice: the Naming, Packaging and Promotion of Alcoholic Drinks and the Alcohol Sponsorship Code.  Each Code outlines a set of responsible marketing rules that the alcohol industry must abide by.  Our primary purpose as a regulator is to protect those who are vulnerable, particularly those who are under-18.

No previous experience of working in the alcohol industry or marketing regulation is necessary as full training will be provided.

Details of role

· Deliver training and briefing sessions on the Codes and on alcohol social responsibility. This includes delivering sessions virtually and in person within the UK.

· Responsible for responding accurately and promptly to written requests for advice on product marketing from producers and their agencies alongside other members of the Regulatory Affairs Team.

· To raise standards of responsibility in the industry by undertaking proactive trademark searches of newly registered products and providing unsolicited advice where necessary.

· With the support of the team, provide internal and external reporting analysis of advice requests on a monthly basis.

· Monitor product innovations via social media and press publications to identify emerging trends and provide unsolicited advice where necessary.

· Support the team in drafting blogs, newsletters, industry advice pieces and an annual Regulatory Affairs Report.

· Support the team in wider regulatory communications, including distribution of content.

We are looking for a Chief Officer who will be responsible for the day to day running of the charity as well as working with the Trustees to take the organisation forwards.  The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, will have skills in finance, management and IT, and will enjoy working in a busy environment where there are changing demands and priorities throughout the day.

You will have demonstrable understanding of health and social care policy and related public policy developments in the UK, as well as an understanding of how policy decisions are influenced and made. In this role, you will support the development and implementation of Picker's policy influencing strategy to make person centred health and social care a reality for everyone. Our programme supporting Higher Technical Education has big ambitions. Known as the ‘missing middle’ of higher education in England, we want to see the declines in level 4 and 5 technical education reversed and more providers emerge who can offer high-quality education and training to help people access highskilled occupations. Key to this transformation is the role of Institutes of Technology (IoTs) – collaborations between further education colleges, universities and employers – and we have been working closely with the National Network of Institutes of Technology to support their success. We are looking for a Project Officer to play an integral part in the successful delivery of this programme, as well as becoming an advocate for Higher Technical Qualifications more broadly. 

This role sits within the small Higher Education Team at Gatsby, and you will work closely with the Project Manager and Director of Programmes to: develop and deliver a range of projects to support our programme objectives; represent Gatsby at external meetings; organise meetings and events; and develop strong working relationships with key partners.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver projects to support Gatsby’s Higher Technical Education programme, with clear objectives and planning, delivering outputs on time and within budget.
• Research, create and write compelling communications that support programme objectives.
• Co-ordinate regular meetings and external events, including drafting agendas, writing minutes, liaising with and organising contributions from external stakeholders.
• Work effectively with other Gatsby programme teams to ensure higher technical education is appropriately represented within their areas of focus.
• Commission consultants/researchers to undertake pieces of work that will inform programme direction.
• Undertake project evaluations to measure success, analysing outputs/feedback and making informed recommendations to improve activity.
• Manage the National Network of Institutes of Technology website and LinkedIn pages, ensuring they remain a compelling national presence with engaging and relevant content.
• Provide administrative and budget support for beneficiary grants and contracts.
• Create and maintain data and contact information relevant to the Institutes of Technology and other key stakeholders in higher technical education.
• Maintain a secure understanding of all high-level Gatsby policy positions and able to communicate them effectively in written form and verbally.

INTRAC exists to promote positive social change. We do this by strengthening the wider ecosystems of civil society support and also by supporting civil society organisations themselves. About the role

As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. This will involve coordinating short and long term projects, involving staff and consultants through our global network and clients around the world, ensuring effective and quality delivery. We carry out a wide variety of assignments, ranging from project evaluations to bespoke in-house training and learning partner roles for complex, multi-country civil society strengthening programmes.

You will work on a range of activities, such as organising and supporting online learning sessions, meetings or focus groups, coordinating feedback, communicating with team members and clients, administrative tasks, to support the smooth running and success of our work.

You will have an eye for detail, experience providing administrative and coordination support to complex projects and will be comfortable carrying out a number of tasks with competing deadlines at the same time.

We are looking for a versatile and dynamic individual, wanting to use their skills to support civil society around the world and with an interest in current debates concerning decolonisation and movements to shift power.

Blue Light Card Foundation is seeking an experienced and innovative Charity Chief Executive Officer who's passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the blue light community by developing the charity’s strategy, to enable it to grow and flourish in supporting its mission.

Blue Light Card Foundation want every member of the blue light community to know that they have support, and to know where to find it in their time of need. 

We fund projects across the UK to provide those that deal with the most challenging situations with quality resources, connected environments, and places that support their wellbeing.

What You’ll Do  

• Develop and implement strong strategic plans and put these into action in a scalable and sustainable way 

• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by actively engaging in mentoring initiatives, empowering colleagues to reach their full potential, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development 

• Create strategic relationships, collaborative partnerships outside the charity and act as an ambassador and advocate for Blue Light Card Foundation 

• Represent Blue Light Card Foundation at senior meetings within the blue light sector 

• Oversee and implement recruitment, selection, training, development and performance management of colleagues 

• Monitor the effectiveness of Blue Light Card Foundation’s work in making a difference and implement change in response to feedback and data 

• Ensure the health and safety and safeguarding of the blue light community is supported by Blue Light Card Foundation programmes 

• Ensure that Trustees are kept well-informed of key developments in Blue Light Card Foundation and provided with sufficient financial and management information to enable them to exercise their statutory responsibilities 

• Manage the charity budget and produce regular financial reports and forecasts

• Implement sound, sustainable funding plans, oversee fundraising activities ensuring these meet the needs of the foundation 

• Develop and implement integrated campaigns, effective marketing channels and media strategy, reporting on impact and raising the charity presence and profile

• Ensure full and accurate reporting including the preparation of an annual report and financial statements to the Charity Commission 

What You’ll Bring  

• Senior leadership experience within the charity sector including leading teams in demanding public-facing roles 

• Experience of growing and managing charity programmes, strong governance skills, communications, events and fundraising oversight 

• Experience of developing strong external public relationships promoting and representing an organisation 

• Experience securing funds and working with funding partners and knowledge of funding methodology and related financial issues 

• Grant management and grant making decisions and oversight

• An understanding of the key measures of financial management and control in a challenging environment 

• Strategic thinking with sound strategic planning, ability to articulate a clear vision and a track record of achieving targets
