Our Cattery Team Leaders provides front line leadership and management to a team of staff and volunteers, ensuring first class service delivery in relation to animal welfare.
This opportunity is focused on leading the cattery team in delivering the highest standards of feline welfare, care, and enrichment. You will ensure that all cats receive compassionate, individualised care and that the team operates efficiently, safely, and in line with welfare best practices.
Overall objectives:
- To lead the Cattery team, managing, motivating, and developing staff to achieve their full potential.
- To maintain exceptional standards in husbandry and welfare.
- To effectively manage our population of cats enabling us to help as many cats as possible within our limited capacity.

The programme
The mandate of the Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) programme is to capture, distil and share knowledge and learning to strengthen Foundation’s impact and effectiveness. The programme brings together a range of functions critical to the Foundation’s identity, coherence and visibility including the facility to learn internally; management of information and infrastructure; leadership of the Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation work; and all aspects of our communications and outreach including reporting.
The role
The Programme Officer (PO) will support the effective delivery of the Foundation’s Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) workplan. Working under the supervision of the KLC Programme Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the Foundation’s websites; planning and creating content for our online channels that communicates meaningful results and tells the Foundation’s story in as engaging way as possible; event coordination, facilitation and promotion; support for media relations; support for annual reporting and results monitoring; and support to Foundation staff in the optimal use of communications tools and IT.
Key tasks and responsibilities
The postholder will undertake the following key tasks:

Plan and create content for all social media channels, monitoring and reporting on social media reach and digital metrics

The individual
We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in communications gained within a comparable field, especially of social media and online marketing, along with experience of using website content management systems. The ideal candidate will also have experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and have a good understanding of Microsoft tools and webinar/virtual meeting platforms. They will have strong writing skills and experience in storytelling and reporting, along with an ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. They should have an awareness of ensuring brand and style guidelines are reflected across communication activities and be comfortable acting as a first point of contact for media enquiries as well as liaising with colleagues and external suppliers.
What we Offer
Salary expectations: £32,076 - £35,605 per annum

ABOUT THE ROLE
Variety is looking for a PR and Communications Manager to join our growing team and take responsibility for our communications strategy to support fundraising, programmes and brand activities. It is an exciting time to join the charity as we have laid the groundwork over the last year to improve our marketing and communication channels and have ambitious plans to double our charity size, to fund life-changing practical support for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
We have a new Director of Fundraising and Communications in place who you will work closely alongside, and your work will be across three areas: content creation including the website, PR and social media. Key to success is putting children’s stories at the heart of our communication and you will need to work independently, guiding the Social Media Officer and freelancers, playing a key role in our collaborative and high-performing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Content creation – identify and gather beneficiary stories and create compelling content for Variety’s communication channels
•PR – develop a network of supportive media contacts and partners to effectively promote our work and proactively target journalists, writing and delivering press releases as needed
•Social media – oversee the social media calendar and have responsibility for the social content and channels. Have managerial responsibility for the Social Media Officer, ensuring content is planned in and comments are monitored with occasional weekend cover
•Interview beneficiaries of Variety, meeting family members, working with external agents (photographers, filmmakers) as necessary to give beneficiaries the best experience while gathering the most relevant information for story telling
•Produce stories with the Director of Fundraising and Communications in the best formats, ensuring brand compliance and accessibility
•Ensure consent is obtained at every stage of content gathering and materials are stored securely in line with GDPR legislation and Variety’s privacy policy
•Monitor and analyse our channels to identify trends and areas to improve
•Work with the Director of Fundraising and Communications on marketing and brand awareness campaigns
•Attend Variety events, maximising engagement and representing the charity
•Manage the communications budget and ensure when using freelance or agency providers we have competitive rates
•Manage email marketing, including creating a monthly newsletter and expanding our reach by building our mailing list
•Manage the website content, ensuring brand consistency and working with external suppliers to manage any website improvements and SEO performance.
• Collaborate with programmes team attending Sunshine Coach presentations and Great Days Out to gather content when required
•Collaborate with the fundraising team attending partnership, challenge and social events to gather content when required
•Keep records up-to-date on Variety’s shared drive and CRM system, manage the communications email inbox
• Participate in staff meetings, fundraising, programme and communications team meetings and contribute to the success of Variety’s strategy
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

You will be an excellent communicator, with significant experience coordinating programme delivery and support functions including human resource management, logistics and procurement, finance and compliance. You will be a strategic leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and influence to drive change. You will be ready to travel internationally, including to insecure and conflict-affected areas, and have a solid understanding of geopolitical dynamics and their security impact. Advice Service Delivery Manager
The newly created Advice & Support Team plays a key role in delivering Battersea’s increased strategic focus on early intervention in the pet ownership journey. By offering well-timed expert and empathetic support and advice before owners reach crisis point, the team aims to prevent avoidable animal welfare issues and reduce the number of pets relinquished for preventable reasons.
A key service in this area is the Behaviour Advice Line (BAL), currently delivered by our Animal Behaviour Team. This new role exists to lead the development of a clear, evidence-based service model and plan to transform the line into a cost-effective multi-channel service that delivers measurably improved impact for owners and their pets.
The role is for one year with the outcome to develop a detailed service model and associated change plan and budget, that is evidence based, co-designed and in alignment with the future Advice and Support strategy and Operations structure. Iterative changes should be identified for service improvement within the year and a business case for investment produced by the end of July 2026.

Farm Assistant – Community Gardening

Hours: Part-time (16 hours per week, 0.4FTE)

Oasis Southampton City Farm is a community focused registered charity working in Southampton. We provide a range of supportive, wellbeing boosting, and nature-based activities for our communities, which include young people and adult learners with disabilities.
We are looking for a Community Gardening Assistant who will support the Farm Lead and community development lead for Southampton in delivering the vision for the farm, the oasis academies, and its wider community by supporting the growth of the farms garden project, as well as community gardens across the city. These tasks will include:
· Delivering garden based educational and wellbeing boosting activities
· Working alongside our volunteers, young people, and adults with learning disabilities to care for the garden by planting, watering, and sowing.
· To work with Oasis Academies across the city, as well as partner organisations, to support the creation of community garden spaces to boost wellbeing across the city.

· Relevant qualifications or experience in horticulture

About this role
As the Counselling Coordinator your responsibilities would include: -
· Developing and managing a quality counselling service which meets the needs and diversity of Essex carers, and is delivered according to the standards set out in the BACP Ethical Framework
· Line managing and recruiting staff, placement students and qualified volunteer counsellors to deliver SFBT counselling interventions to carers face to face, virtually or on the phone
· Managing all referrals into the service, assessing them against the service criteria, referring on as appropriate, and managing the waiting list.
· Monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the service regularly, ensuring it’s both meeting the needs of carers and is being delivered according to the BACP Ethical Framework
· Reporting to Service Manager and provide monthly reports on delivery for contract reports
About you
To be successful in this role you will need -
· A relevant counselling qualification (BACP approved).
· Registration with BACP or other professional counselling body
· Working knowledge of social care and health, particularly as it relates to working with carers and adults
· Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
· Excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction
· Knowledge of the challenges affecting Carers.
· Competent in use of IT (Microsoft Applications Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Power Bi), mobile telephony and social media platforms.
