Experience
Experience is sought in the following areas:
· General administration in a busy office environment, ideally with a dispersed workforce working in the office and at home throughout the UK.
· Meeting logistics organisation including venue identification; venue booking liaison; travel booking; accommodation booking.
· Processing confidential information about staff and partners in compliance with GDPR.
· Working with international partners would be ideal but not essential, including multiple cultures and currencies.

Job Summary
We expect this role to focus on developing and maintaining relationships with key funders, stakeholders, institutions and individuals. It will undertake work to secure funding, resources and partnerships for both Shared Assets and the wider land justice movement, and to raise the profile and reputation of Shared Assets.
The role will have responsibility for securing core funding for Shared Assets from trusts, foundations and high net worth individuals, and for supporting colleagues to secure grant and commercial funding for consultancy, research, movement building and communications projects. It will have responsibility for reporting on core grants and providing quality control for colleagues for their bids, tenders and funder reports. As part of this work the role will play a key part in providing intelligence and foresight to contribute to the organisation’s strategy and business planning.
Beyond securing consistent core funding for Shared Assets the role will also work with funders and others to secure longer term resourcing of the wider land movement in order to deliver our collective ambitions for a just and sustainable land system.
As part of a self managing organisation all team members are expected to contribute to the day to day management of the organisation through participation in management circles, team days and working groups.
Main Responsibilities
Fundraising and resourcing

Develop and maintain relationships with funders to fund work that seeks to support common good land use and to create a more just and sustainable land system.

Work with the team to ensure we maintain a healthy pipeline of bids and tenders in order to meet income generation targets across the organisation.

Work with the wider land justice movement and funders to secure significant, consistent and long term resourcing for the wider land movement, working in ways that are open and transparent to, and inclusive of, the wider movement and which will help to deliver systemic change that meets our collective objectives for a more just and sustainable land system.

Develop and maintain relationships with key partner organisations in order to build an understanding of the wider context and system in which we are working in order to inform our strategic development and to identify opportunities for future partnership working. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser or a candidate with transferrable skills who is looking for their next challenge.
This fundraising role is varied and fun and may suit someone who has worked in fundraising for a few years and understands the diverse range of responsibilities that come with the role. You should be able to work well in a small team and be prepared to adapt cheerfully to changes and challenges that may crop up daily.
Your main area of responsibility will be for generating income by writing proposals to Trust and Foundations, working with service managers across the country to research and build compelling cases for support across the organisation.
We are looking for someone who can secure multi-year grants and core funding support through creating high value applications and also have the skills to research and fire off multiple applications to smaller trusts for small projects on a daily basis.
Experience in meeting fundraising targets would be useful but not essential. An important aspect of the role will be maintaining up to date reporting systems of approaches and successes and fulfilling grant obligations to funders.
As part of a small fundraising team and you will also work with your colleagues to further develop the Walk for Autism fundraising campaign and be instrumental in developing a high quality supporter journey using email, texts and social media. Developing digital fundraising is one of our main strategies so a willingness to learn new skills in this area is a key part of the role.
You will be required to work outside of office hours occasionally with some travel to services around the UK. It would be helpful to have a driving licence but it’s not essential. This position is subject to a Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) that will be met by Autism Initiatives.

As a People Relations Specialist, you’ll be the escalation point from our People Operations team and will apply your specialist employee relations knowledge and expertise to provide professional and pragmatic employee relations advice on a range of employee relations (ER) issues, policies and processes.

About you

The Discover DeCrypt Trustees wish to appoint a self-employed fundraising consultant to undertake fundraising to achieve at a minimum the matched funding target (circa £92k) for submission of The National Lottery Heritage Fund Round 2 bid for The Sanctuary Project in St Mary de Crypt Church, Gloucester. The work will need to be carried out between July 2024 and July 2025 with all matched funding pledged by that end date and any surplus funding contributing to unrestricted reserves.
Introduction Discover DeCrypt undertook a major Heritage Fund project between Jan 2018 and March 2022. This capital project saw the reimagining of the church and adjoining Tudor schoolroom buildings. The project saw the Victorian pews removed (and repurposed), a lift (sympathetic to the buildings) installed, new toilet facilities, new heating system, new fire and intruder system, new lighting scheme and a new kitchen. Underfloor heating was installed within the nave and a new floor laid. The schoolroom was made safe and usable as it had reached the point where it was unsafe for the public to access. There was new interpretation in both the church and schoolroom.
An important aspect of this project was community outreach as the buildings sit within the city centre and had lost much of the original congregation and community. After the initial capital phase, three years of operational support was designed to help embed the charity within the community through volunteer recruitment, workshops, activities, concerts, art exhibitions and theatre. The church has also grown over this period, with regular services, weddings, funerals, and christenings.
The Sanctuary Project is the next phase of the Discover DeCrypt Story. It will see the conservation and interpretation of important Mediaeval and Tudor Wall paintings, Mediaeval stonework, and Victorian stained-glass windows. As well as the conservation work, the Sanctuary area and the elements within it will be researched and interpreted for the visitors to understand and enjoy. A very important part of this project is community engagement and audience development including giving students and the wider public access to conservation and heritage skills.

As our Head of Finance, reporting into the CFO, you’ll lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. · Commercial or charity accounting experience, including the preparation of statutory accounts, and preferably SORP compliance.
· Experience leading an end-to-end external audit process.

The Fundraising and Business Development Team Administrator will form part of a five-strong team led by our Head of Fundraising and Business Development. Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities are:
Corporate Fundraising
- Support corporate fundraising by completing due diligences on potential partners (you will be trained how to do this), organising corporate visits, volunteering days, supporting corporate fundraising events, keeping corporate partners up to date with our news etc and organising meetings.
Trusts and Foundations
- Support trusts and foundations fundraising by supporting on funder research (again you will be fully trained how to do this) and contributing to a constant pipeline of potential funders for the team to approach.
- Helping to manage the schedule for, and possibly writing and/or submitting basic proposals to trusts and foundations.
Events
- Support the team by recording and sending fundraising materials to those raising money for us through events and challenge event.
- Helping to develop, organise and deliver events.
Individual Giving
- Supporting our Individual Giving programme from an administrative point of view, including sending out pre-written emails to our supporters etc and ensuring first-class stewardship.
- Using our fundraising platform Enthuse to produce reports to support the team (and finance) with relevant information and insights.
- To ensure all donations are processed and on the fundraising tracker correctly, supporter records are kept up to date and supporters are thanked in a timely manner.
General
- To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries that come in by telephone, email, and post.
- Supporting other activities in the fundraising team when needed, sending out materials to fundraisers and supporting logistics, diary management and support the organisation and delivery of meetings and events when needed.
- Attend meetings and take concise and accurate minutes.
- Support the Head of Fundraising and Business Development to produce trackers and spreadsheets which help to measure the team’s performance and results. Overview:
Groundswell is recruiting a Health In-Reach Navigator to join our Health Promotion Team to arrange, develop and run Health Promotion In-Reach sessions in homelessness services across London.
We know that if you are experiencing homelessness, you will be disproportionately affected by health inequalities and often lack access to suitable information and support that could help you independently manage your health and wellbeing. Our approach:

Everyone has a right to access healthcare including screening and preventative services.

Health and wellbeing look different for everyone. Health promotion should not alienate people by setting standards that are unattainable but should support them to look at what they can practically do to feel better right now.

Everyone’s ‘normal’ is different. Someone who is smoking crack or who is dependent on alcohol might have bodily functions that are different to what is ‘normal’ for the average person. People need to be aware of their own ‘normal’ so that they know when something is wrong.
The Health In-Reach Navigator will be working with the teams in hostels and day centres, going to the places where people live or go to access vital services like food and showers. Ideally, they will have their own first-hand experience of using or working in services supporting people around homelessness, substance misuse, mental health, poverty, asylum and immigration, or the criminal justice system.
Our services are co-produced by people with first-hand experience of the issues we are trying to address.
The Navigator should be comfortable with continuously evolving and adapting the service, tailoring it to the specific needs of the people we work with, developing sessions informed by direct feedback and direction from people living in hostels and using homelessness Day Centres.
Our Health Promotion Work
The Health Promotion Team:

Deliver group ‘in-reach’ sessions led by staff and volunteers with first-hand experience of homelessness, using health promotion resources to engage people with health issues and talk to them about options available.

Support clinical services going into hostels and day centres to deliver preventative health measures such as screening and vaccinations.

We have a range of accessible, targeted materials around vaccination, screening and other health issues that can be used by our team and supported accommodation staff to support sessions. We are planning to develop more of these, particularly looking at screening and rights to access healthcare.
By carrying out Health Promotion In-Reach in hostels and Day Centres we aim to:

Increase awareness of specific health issues, what services are available and the pathways for accessing them.

Encourage people to identify their own health priorities, and to address their health concerns, offering them the tools to tackle issues and access services.

Support people in identifying shared interests in particular health issues and delivering in-reach sessions that demonstrably reflect those shared interests.

Reach more people to support with 1-1 appointments through our Homeless Health Peer Advocacy (HHPA) service.
The group in-reach model enables people with similar experiences to come together and reflect on overcoming challenges. As a project based on Advocacy principals, we do not tell people what they should do; but encourage autonomy to make safe and realistic choices. We:

Meet with people to ask what their health priorities are and look at potential topics for upcoming sessions. These topics are then shared with the staff team from the hostel/day centre so they can feed in.

Draft an in-reach programme and plan dates, times, and promotion of sessions, involving staff teams at each site.

Organise and co-deliver 5-10 sessions on the priorities identified by people experiencing homelessness and the staff working with them

All sessions focus on residents’ voices being heard first, then Groundswell facilitated discussion supported and informed by Groundswell health promotion information and/or clinicians.
The Health Promotion team also work with a range of external partners around screening and preventive care.
We work with partners to arrange health events at homelessness services; promoting the sessions by talking to residents prior to teams visiting and supporting on the day to maximise uptake.
About HHPA
Our Health Promotion work sits alongside our Homeless Health Peer Advocacy (HHPA) Program. Groundswell created HHPA in Westminster in 2010, to support people experiencing homelessness to overcome multiple barriers preventing access to healthcare, initially through funding from the NHS Regional Innovation Fund. Since then, HHPA has since flourished into a multi award-winning service working across London.
Health creates a foundation to move out of homelessness. Groundswell’s person led health services enable people who are homeless to access the health care they need, so they are not disadvantaged by the health inequalities embedded in our systems. Our health work is delivered by a team where most people have their own experience of homelessness, shared experience builds up a level of trust when there can be mistrust of ‘professionals’, because of past trauma or negative experiences.
The service is delivered by volunteer Peer Advocates and staff Case Workers, who build trusting relationships with clients and support them to access, navigate and use healthcare services. They aim to increase people’s self-confidence and improve their ability to independently access the services they need, which can include everything from registering for a GP, dentistry treatment, mental health referrals, hospital appointments, and much more.
Groundswell is unique in bridging the divide between health and homelessness organisations. We work in partnership with numerous organisations across London to support the delivery of our peer advocacy service.
Health In-reach Navigator Tasks
The Health In-Reach Navigator will be a vital member of our team, working collaboratively with various partners and agencies to deliver In-Reach sessions and connect individuals experiencing homelessness with essential healthcare services. This position offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
Lead on planning and delivery of health promotion sessions working with key stakeholders to shape sessions:

Develop and maintain links with hostels, Day Centres, and health teams in the Boroughs where Groundswell works to identify suitable services for delivery of health promotion work.

Working with people using services, and staff working in services; identify health priorities and plan, design and deliver sessions that reflect those priorities, tailoring them to people’s needs.

Young People’s Senior Peer Research Coordinator - Haringey
Are you passionate about working with young people? Do you have experience of project management, involvement and research methods and helping others to do research?
If yes, we have the ideal job for you. We are working in partnership with the Peace Alliance in Haringey as part of the Peer Action Collective to develop solutions with young people to address youth violence. The work is funded by the Youth Endowment Fund.
Working with young people aged 10-20, as well as local secondary schools and colleges, the project will carry out peer research and develop social action projects.
The person in this role will be excellent at co-ordinating multiple projects and groups, with strong project management skills and will be a core part of our delivery team. You will also get the opportunity to work on other young people’s involvement projects at McPin.
The post is full time and will suit someone who would like some flexibility in working hours, as there will be evening, weekend work plus school holiday activities, including Wednesdays and Fridays from 4-7 pm at Tottenham Town Hall. Your time will be split between working from Tottenham Town Hall in Haringey, the McPin Foundation offices in London and remote working as needed for project delivery.
You will link with stakeholders – schools, the police, local councillors – to help build networks to drive our social action projects forward.
Most importantly you will be supporting and mentoring young people as they learn about peer research and develop social action projects to drive change.
