This is an exciting and varied role that will draw on your experience in areas such as communications, project management, research, event planning and administration.

As an International Policy Assistant at the Law Society, you will play an important role in undertaking research and monitoring international developments affecting solicitors' international practice, with a particular focus on Europe and the Americas. 

Your research insights will provide valuable input into consultation papers and briefings, and you will be coordinating our communication outputs across information bulletins, our website and social media. You will be involved in organising events and other stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Another key aspect of this role will involve the International Policy Assistant liaising extensively with other professional bodies, government departments, solicitors and law firms, as well as working with our Media and Public Affairs teams to ensure a strong and consistent voice for the Law Society and its members.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Prepare the statutory accounts for the Trust to accurately reflect the year end position of the investments
• Act as point of contact for external audit and assist internal and external auditors as required to provide accurate information in a timely manner
• Provide financial support to all stakeholders within the Charity in treasury and tax services across the various entities

Ideal candidate profile:

• Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Demonstrable strong experience of working successfully in a similar tax & treasury role in a large and complex organisation
• Strong and up to date knowledge of taxation legislation (especially in relation to VAT)
• Good Excel capability with strong analytical skills with the ability to extract, manipulate, interrogate, and report on complex data to support decision making processes

Role 2 - Research Assistant (Fixed Term 12 Month Contract)

The Fabian Society is also hiring a Research Assistant on a 12-month development contract to support the new Fabian Housing Centre, as well as wider projects across the research team.

The Opportunity

This role at WFN provides an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of our growing Winner Network Development (WND) programme, identified as one of the charity’s key areas for strategic growth and maximised impact over the coming years. We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing communicator who is passionate about conservation and can drive forward and create connections between our global network of over 220 conservationists, fostering knowledge exchange, capacity development and collaboration. As part of this programme the Grants and Network Manager (GNM) will help with delivery of annual thematic training workshops, with opportunity for international travel. The GNM will also assist our Head of Grants (HG) in monitoring our portfolio of active grants, with support from the Grants Assistant (GA). The GNM will also participate in the Whitley Awards application process by helping to screen the grant applications and supporting with due diligence. If you have a conservation background, and experience with capacity development programmes, proactively managing growing networks, and monitoring active grants, then this is the role for you.

GRANTS AND NETWORK MANAGER - PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Essential:

· MSc or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Conservation/ Zoology/ Environmental Science)

· Experience cultivating and managing networks of people, with a proven track record of successful engagement and network growth

The Candidate
Proven management and organisational skills at a midmanagement or higher level
Demonstrable experience of interaction with mid-level and senior Executives, Directors and Non-Executive Directors in addressing concerns and issues.
Proven experience of dealing sensitively with difficult issues, to act with integrity and maintain confidentiality as appropriate
Experience in giving presentations to small and large groups
Strong report writing skills
Experience in communicating at all levels of staff from all disciplines and/or grades.
Experience of planning and prioritising own workload, and working on own initiative
Basic knowledge of Employment Law, the Equality Act and data protection
Knowledge of HR policy and proven experience of staff management desirable

We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 pro rata

Location: Across Brent Community Hubs and Advance Head Office

Hours: 17.5 Hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months from start date

About the role:

The postholder will support the delivery of a specialist domestic abuse (DA) project in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) in the London borough of Brent. The role aims to raise awareness and promote best practice in responding to domestic abuse across CLCH staff, improving support for patients impacted by domestic abuse. This will involve delivering training, workshops, and guidance to health professionals, providing consultancy on embedding DA response pathways, and helping CLCH navigate referrals to local domestic abuse support agencies. The role combines professional training, advocacy, and systems change to strengthen the health sector’s response to domestic abuse. The postholder will work across the Brent borough, attending community hubs and co-locating to deliver services when needed.

The postholder may be approached by staff seeking advice or consultation regarding male victims of domestic abuse. While the role’s primary focus remains on supporting women, the postholder will be open to supporting male victims through appropriate signposting and referral guidance. They will also be willing to undertake relevant training (e.g. Respect toolkit) to ensure inclusive and informed responses. Training will be provided.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer you will need the below experience and skills:

• A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.
• Experience in designing, delivering, and promoting engaging training and learning sessions on domestic abuse, tailored to professionals and stakeholders across a variety of settings.
• Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders as well as experience of working within in multi-agency environment.
• Ability to provide consultancy and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on domestic abuse-related issues, offering informed advice and support.
• Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written), with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse professionals and stakeholders.
