At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for an Interim Deputy Director of External Affairs to join our team on a 9 month FTC.

While this role covers all our External Affairs functions, you'll be particularly expected to have knowledge and expertise in providing leadership in policy-influencing and campaigns. You'll provide leadership of AaA's External Affairs strategy to ensure the needs of autistic children and their families are high on the political and media agenda.

You'll have an externally-facing role in policy influencing, representing AaA in coalitions with relevant government departments among parliamentarians, as well as increasing AaA's profile through an effective communications strategy.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Substantial experience, knowledge and understanding of the policy landscape, including political and legislative processes, and local government structures and processes
• Extensive experience of developing and delivering strategic, integrated communications programmes
• Demonstrable leadership of successful policy-influencing activity, including stakeholder engagement and above/below the line influencing strategies
• Proven experience in strategy development

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Events and Stewardship Manager, to manage the planning, delivery  and evaluation of high impact  events and stewardship initiatives that engage and inspire prospects, donors and our partners: 

• Events: Taking a proactive approach to project management, this role will have responsibility for delivering a range of events across our global event portfolio. These events underpin Mission 44’s fundraising goals, especially for HNWI and corporate audiences. 

• Stewardship: As part of the fundraising team, the post-holder will deliver exceptional support and experiences for our current donors including production of impact-focused reports,  personalised communications and moments that build community for Mission 44’s growing donor base. 

It is expected the role will have a  60:40 split between events management and stewardship activities.  This role is ideal for a skilled planner, exceptional collaborator, and a strong writer, capable of supporting the delivery of exceptional donor experiences, stewardship communications, progress reports and materials that showcase Mission 44’s impact. It is worth noting whilst Mission 44’s events portfolio is global, this role will have minimal international travel. 

Key Responsibilities

Special Events Management 

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of global events within Mission 44’s portfolio, including donor and prospect dinners, trackside activations and flagship fundraising galas.

• Lead on core event logistics plans, including venue searches, supplier contracting, building of accurate run of shows and production schedules for multi-day events. 

• Produce quality briefing materials for event participants, staff, trustees, donors and impact partners. 

• Support the wider Fundraising team with securing sponsorship, ticket sales, and securing auction items. This includes production of targeted collateral for outreach. 

• Produce quality and timely evaluation for events activities that capture key learnings, recommendations and event ROI. 

• Work closely with the Fundraising Data and Operations Manager to ensure that events and stewardship data is updated in a accurately and timely manner to our CRM system (Virtuous). 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure events materials are aligned with brand and messaging. 

Stewardship: Donor Communications and Reporting 

• Deliver exceptional donor experiences, including impact-focused reports,  personalised communications, and bespoke touch-points with impact partners and the Mission 44 team. 

• Oversee the preparation and submission of specific donor reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with donor guidelines and grant agreements. 

• Manage select bespoke stewardship projects which strengthen relationships with donors especially our corporate partners

• Work closely with our Impact and Finance teams to gather data, track progress, and strengthen internal reporting processes. 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure that donor communications are consistent with our brand and messaging.

• Maintain accurate records of donor and partner interactions using our CRM system (Virtuous).

Essential: 

• Proven experience of project managing either bespoke events, campaigns, fundraising initiatives  from conception to evaluation.

• Understanding of stewardship and supporter journey – experience of improving the donor experience and/or developing a partnership via event participation. 

• Experience of managing a wide range of senior stakeholders and external suppliers with demonstrable knowledge of working with event venues in delivering health & safety, catering and production requirements, registration systems, sponsor requirements, AV technology, supporting high-profile talent, staff and volunteers. 

• Strong track record of producing high quality written materials including reports 

• Experience of working with fundraising CRM systems / guest management systems.

Good relationships shape our health and happiness, yet we are taught so little about them. LMK is a registered education charity on a mission to change that. We run workshops educating young people about healthy and unhealthy behaviours, so that they can avoid abuse and thrive in relationships.

About LMK Leaders

LMK Leaders are passionate and organised educators who run community workshops, aimed at young people aged between 11 and 24. Through engaging, relatable workshops, Leaders help young people identify signs of healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviours, provide strategies for them to recognise the early warning signs of abuse and give them tools to keep themselves and their friends safe. 

Expectations of LMK Leaders

• Always adhere to LMK and host organisations health & safety and safeguarding practices and procedures. 
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries with young people, peers, and professionals.
• Respond to comms (emails/WhatsApp) sent out by LMK team members in a timely manner, to support planning and organising of sessions.
• Plan and deliver interactive LMK workshops in educational and community settings in line with LMK delivery style and ethos. 
• Meet with co-facilitators to carry out pre-session planning, minimum three working days before delivery.

The Grants and Programmes Associate will support the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea, focusing on the UK portfolio. Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.

We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in London. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

About the role

We are now seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Membership and Engagement to lead and deliver an ambitious membership strategy that will grow, diversify, and retain our membership base. Positioned on the Executive Team, and reporting to the Director of The London Library, you will oversee a talented team spanning membership, marketing and communications, and public engagement.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies that strengthen our brand and visibility, grow income from membership, and deepen engagement with existing and prospective members. You will also oversee a rich programme of public and member events, our award-winning Emerging Writers Programme, and a growing portfolio of learning and outreach activity.

This role will be expected to spend at least one day a week in our award winning accessible national office near King's Cross. The postholder must be within 90 minutes travel of Westminster to be responsive to the organisation's needs.
We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs professional to manage and oversee RNIB's work in Parliament and build powerful relationships with the right politicians to drive change for blind and partially sighted people.

With your creativity and attention to detail, you'll make sure that RNIB is top of mind for sight loss in Parliament, that accessibility is well understood by politicians, and that our internal expertise is showcased to politicians to drive change in line with our strategy.

In this new role, you'll drive excellence in public affairs activity, with a forensic attention to detail, a flair for people, and lots of creativity in communications.

You'll build relationships with the right people to open doors for us, and use them effectively in targeted initiatives to make policy effective for blind and partially sighted people.

You'll make sure that the views and experiences of blind or partially sighted people underpin our public affairs strategy and are championed in how we tell our stories.

You'll manage and support staff in the public affairs team, which is made up of an officer and an assistant. The role will evaluate and guiding performance, and providing mentoring and coaching as necessary.

You'll ensure our public affairs activity aligns with our team planning, and delivers strategic outcomes, in line with organisational strategy, and establishing productive relationships with a range of internal stakeholders in other parts of RNIB.

You'll have strong knowledge of the workings of Parliament, and experience of building exceptional ongoing relationships with MPs, Peers and party decision-makers. You'll be confident in leading meetings with decision-makers, and overseeing both tailored one-to-one briefings and largescale email correspondence.

You'll have superb attention to detail, making sure our briefings, evidence and correspondence are impactful, accurate, expertly tailored to what MPs need, and make best use of our internal expertise. You'll also be meticulous about record keeping so we can track and monitor our engagements on diverse topics such as eye health, disability benefits, accessible voting and travel.

You'll be comfortable working at pace, overseeing other staff, and collaborating closely with other roles in Policy and Campaigns to develop effective strategies to succeed in our influencing goals.

You'll understand how to win the attention of Ministers and Parliamentarians using creative and engaging communications as well as events and lobbies, and you'll be confident providing updates and briefings to senior RNIB stakeholders such as our Chief Executive and Chair of Trustees.

We are looking for someone with a compassionate outlook who enjoys working with young people (students between 18 and 30), can maintain a positive mindset in unpredictable situations and handle responsibility. This is a people-centred workplace and all work we do is geared towards our mission and to look after the welfare of the students living here. It is essential that anyone applying for this role is aligned with our mission and as passionate as we are about it.

You will be working as part of a small team, sharing office space and in close collaboration with colleagues and students. This is a diverse role where you will meet interesting people from around the world. The day-to-day job can be challenging, but we provide full training and the chance of learning many new skills. Reporting to the Warden / Deputy Warden and working alongside another Assistant Warden you willassist with the general office admin duties and various tasks around the house (including some basic maintenance and repairs) for which we will provide adequate training – however, a positive attitude is essential. You will also need to be comfortable with taking personal responsibility to ensure delegated tasks are completed successfully, effectively and, where necessary, using your own initiative.

Whilst your role and daily tasks may vary, they can include (not an exhaustive list):

·Maintaining office admin paperwork, computer filing, responding to e-mails & phone calls

·Completing basic bookkeeping tasks, e.g. inputting/issuing invoices & receipts into Xero

·Inducting new residents - hour-long introductory talk to ensure they are very familiar with the running of the House from their arrival onwards, ensuring rooms are of an acceptable standard when they leave – this needs to be done with the right measure of authority

·Bedrooms & Bathrooms – repairs to fittings, unblocking drains, replacing sealant etc.

·Pest control – e.g. checking for rodent or bedbug activity, organising and potentially carrying out treatment

·Preparing and cleaning rooms before letting where necessary - e.g. following maintenance (note: rooms are otherwise cleaned by residents; communal areas by professional cleaners)

·Pastoral care – e.g. discussing personal or academic issues with residents and finding solutions

·Planning and supervising communal activities, e.g Welcome party, barbeques, etc.

·Social media posts, taking meeting notes, working with the charity trustees.
