This role is based at our centre a short walk from Clapham Common tube station, in London. We support homeless people from the local area and further afield. Our services are open access, so the people who come to the Ace of Clubs are diverse and from multiple walks of life. Consequently their needs can be complex, so we are looking for a skilled communicator who can support people, many of who live chaotic lifestyles. Our purpose at the Ace of Clubs is to address people’s basic human needs by providing food, clothing, toiletries, and practical support. We help people link up with housing, healthcare, education, and employment. Our Support Workers work to help individuals overcome barriers to achieving wellbeing, whether it be through guidance in the support system, learning new skills or supporting service users to build the confidence and skills to enable them to navigate their life challenges and advocate for themselves. The ultimate aim of our work is to reduce people’s dependence on our service, helping them move toward independence.

KEY DUTIES

• To participate in the provision of advice and advocacy for service users addressing their needs in the following areas; Housing; Welfare; Health; Education; Employment, (this list is not exhaustive);
• Refer to and liaise with partners and agencies within the statutory and voluntary sector to secure positive outcomes for Centre Users, e.g. referring and signposting guests to accommodation providers, health services and other relevant internal and external support services, as necessary.
• Work in a manner which honours our organisational values and is responsive to the trauma and experiences of homelessness and vulnerable adults.
• Maintain essential records accurately on Charity Log, (ensuring high quality case recordings).
• Ensuring the Centre Manager is kept informed of all safeguarding and risk concerns.
• Employing creative thinking and practices to ensure that guests are supported and motivated to achieve their goals.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced operations manager to join our team. We are looking for someone who will help strengthen the foundations of our organisation, as well as help us expand our growing network of partner organisations across the UK. 

As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. Building on what has already been done, you will work directly with the CEO to help build the operational structure of Big Green Heart, and support its day-to-day operations. 

You will also facilitate the national deployment of Big Green Heart workshops across the UK, and will work with the CEO and trustees to implement the strategy needed to upscale the work of Big Green Heart.

• You will collaborate with the trustees, who also contribute to tasks linked with Big Green Heart's development. 

• You will manage the budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with the Treasurer.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

We are seeking a Fundraising Assistant at York Minster Fund for an initial fixed term contract of 12 months, commencing summer 2024. This part time, flexible role will support our team in administrative and fundraising tasks across a range of exciting activities and events, helping to raise funds for the Minster’s ongoing work.

Our ideal candidate will be a positive, enthusiastic and confident communicator across different groups of people and keen to gain experience across projects and events. We are looking for someone with some demonstrable customer service/administrative/business experience and sound IT skills; as well as an enquiring mindset with a willingness to learn about the fascinating world of philanthropy, fundraising and conservation. 

York Minster Fund is the lead fundraising partner for York Minster. We are an independent organisation, with a separate board of Trustees, who work closely with colleagues across the Cathedral to secure income for a number of much needed projects and programmes of work. Established in 1967, as an emergency response to an urgent restoration project, we secure funds from charitable foundations, major and corporate donors, legacy donors, individuals and events. 

Our funds provide much needed income for a wide range of projects, including the fabric and repair of the iconic Minster itself, the training of apprentices in traditional heritage crafts and strategic initiatives such as the realisation of the Minster's new international Centre of Excellence for Heritage Skills and Estate Management. 

In the last year we have built on existing strong fundraising relationships and techniques to explore new ways of engaging donors and digital audiences and this is an exciting time to join the Fund as we move forward on a number of major projects. As part of our small but highly experienced team, no two days are the same and the role could see you supporting with many different projects and tasks including donor events administration and delivery, correspondence and research.

Main purpose of job: To work in the Navigator team supporting individuals who have or are experiencing sexual violence and or sexual abuse. As a first contact worker, you will act as a gateway to both specialist counselling and advocacy services and additional specialist support services in Essex. Place of work: CARA premises in Colchester and some remote home working if a suitable environment is available.  Some travel to other locations in Essex may be required, particularly during the induction period.

Holiday: 25 days per year, plus additional closure days between Christmas and New Year.

Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Esse and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information.

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.  

The main responsibilities of the post are:

· To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

· To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone.

· To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

· To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

· To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

· To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.

· To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.

· To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on.

To take the lead in ensuring that appropriate arrangements for keeping children, young people and adults at risk of harm safe are actioned at MHI as part of a Designated Safeguarding team covering the Shout platform 24/7. The role is responsible for promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people on our platform, being a consistent and reliable presence on the Shout platform, and advising Shout Supervisors on safeguarding actions and practise while raising and recording safeguarding issues as they arise. 

Key Responsibilities

• To act as an MHI Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
• Contribute to developing and reviewing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Alongside the DSL/Safeguarding Manager, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with or for children and young people at MHI, including the board of trustees, understands the safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s welfare
• Take a lead role in implementing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures: ensuring all safeguarding and child protection issues concerning children and young people who take part in MHI’s activities are responded to appropriately
• Take the lead on responding to information that may constitute a child protection concern, including a concern that an adult involved with MHI may present a risk to children or young people. This includes:
  • assessing and clarifying the information
  • calling in and recording all safeguarding issues as they arise.
  • supporting and responding to staff who raise internal concerns as well as supporting those who make external safeguarding referrals to police or Adult / Children's Services

• Immediately referring cases to the Safeguarding Panel where there is a radicalisation concern

• Record and retain child protection records according to legal requirements and the organisation’s safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures.
• Work closely with the management committee/board of trustees and Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure they are kept up to date with safeguarding issues and are fully informed of any concerns about organisational safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Contribute to regular reports to MHI’s board of trustees on issues relating to safeguarding and child protection, to ensure that child protection is seen as an ongoing priority issue and that safeguarding and child protection requirements are being followed at all levels of the organisation.
• Be familiar with and work within inter-agency child protection procedures developed by child protection agencies working in partnership with MHI.
• Be familiar with issues relating to child protection and abuse, and keep up to date with new developments in this area.
• Attend regular training in issues relevant to child protection and share knowledge from that training with everyone who works or volunteers with or for children and young people at MHI.
• Attend team meetings, supervision sessions and management meetings as arranged.

Supporting a Regional Finance Business Partner, you will help translate financial information into insightful commentaries, and provide input into benchmarking, dashboarding and financial modelling as required.

Key areas of responsibilities;

• Lead and manage a team of Assistant Finance Business Partners and Finance Officers, including performance management, development, succession planning, sickness monitoring, etc. 
• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts pack (including income & expenditure, and balance sheet) to regular deadlines; specific duties will include: approve monthly journals, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, income analysis and inter-company recharges. 
• To actively collaboration with the wider finance team to maintain and champion the integrity of financial information, specifically purchase ledger for supplier invoices, commitments, expenses and petty cash; procurement for contracts; and assets accountant for capital expenditure and maintaining fixed assets. 
• To support and enable budget holders with budget management, exercising considerable judgement, in particular with Principals, School Business Managers HR and staffing resources, to problem solve where 

Who are we looking for?

• A formally qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience accountant with relevant experience of financial accounting gained in a large, complex organisation (this could be commercial, Not-for-Profit or practice) 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral, able to communicate effectively with finance professionals, senior management and trustees, and non-accountants to achieve cooperation and results
• Ability to manipulate data, analyse information, identify anomalies and extract pertinent information. Excellent attention to detail

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are now inviting suitable candidates to apply for the role of Employment Advisor.  We need to swiftly build a team of around 20, so there are multiple opportunities available to applicants.  This new team will be guided and supported by Senior Employment Advisors and a Service Lead, as well as Twining’s established and experienced Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.

THE ROLE – EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS

The new Employment Advisors (EAs) will work within the West London NHS Talking Therapies provision.  They will work one-to-one with a caseload of clients referred by NHS Talking Therapies therapists to find employment, remain in existing work if they are struggling, improve their working environment, return to work following sickness or positively leave or retire from work.

You will primarily fulfil these duties by providing information, as well as advice and guidance to clients who choose to receive employment support.  The work should empower clients to make better decisions about their working lives, as well as communicate better with colleagues and managers in existing roles.  You will also signpost clients to other relevant support agencies, as appropriate.

This role would suit someone with a background in employment support, psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment.

EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Engage a mixed caseload of clients at any given time serving 100-125 per year, with common mental health problems, to establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them to find new employment or support them in, or to leave, existing employment.  Support will be provided face-to-face in Talking Therapies settings, via secure online meeting platforms or over the telephone.

2. Along with their NHS clinician, assess clients’ support needs with a view to creating, implementing, and adjusting a personalised action plan to help improve clients’ mental health and achieve their stated employment goals.

3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to support clients to find work, including career guidance, job searching skills, CV preparation, application form completion, interview skills, advice on local labour market opportunities and advice on education and training to further their career.

4. Provide guidance to support clients to stay in existing work, including advice on mental health disclosure, negotiating reasonable adjustments to existing workplaces, creating wellness action plans, and improving productivity, support to return to work after sickness absence or to leave an existing role with dignity, and signpost clients to organisations that can represent them (EAs should only look to represent clients in exceptional circumstances).

5. Facilitate access to other advice in areas such as financial benefits, debt management, food banks and community food outlets and social housing providers, as necessary.

6. Work directly with partners like Jobcentre Plus, other employment providers, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to support clients to stay in employment and secure employment opportunities.

7. Build a constant flow of referrals from the clinical team to ensure a dynamic and mixed caseload.

8. Meet referral and performance targets in line with the specific KPI / SLA requirements of the service.

9. Regularly attend team and other meetings as reasonably expected.

10. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.

11. Update and maintain NHS database (IAPTUS).

12. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.

13. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.

14. Comply with and actively promote all Twining policies and procedures including Equality and Diversity, safeguarding and data protection.

15. Perform other tasks as required by your manager.

The role holder must also:

1. Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced level.

2. Possess excellent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software, as well as experience updating and maintaining databases.

3. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service performance requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.

4. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.

5. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.
