The role and what we are looking for in a new Treasurer
Our Treasurer works closely with the Chair and other trustees, our Administration and Clinical Managers, and leads liaison with the External Examiner for our annual accounts. Although all trustees are equally responsible for our finances, our Treasurer maintains the overview and leads the Board in our discussions of financial matters.
Our Board includes people with understanding of our counselling services, and we require all new trustees to have strong empathy with our cause and our delivery.
Your experience of managing finances or bookkeeping is important. We’d welcome a financial qualification, but that’s not a prerequisite, as our finances aren’t complex. An understanding of how charity finance works would be beneficial, and the ability to clearly communicate our financial information to other trustees is very important. Support from our Administration Manager is always available, as they deal with day-to-day matters.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles alongside our values to govern our organisation. We are looking for fresh expertise and experience from a variety of backgrounds to our charity. We want to expand the diversity of our Board, in all meanings of the word, and strongly welcome applications from people from less-represented groups.
The Board meets quarterly face-to-face at our premises, GU47 8HN, on a mid-week afternoon (this is flexible, and can be subject to future discussion/negotiation), for up to three hours.
You will need to dedicate about six hours per month to the role which includes preparation for and attendance at Board meetings; many of your duties may be carried out online and by phone/video, as well as at face-to-face meetings.

About Springboard
Springboard Youth Academy supports refugee and asylum-seeking young people who have recently arrived in the UK to help them succeed in the classroom and beyond. By combining participatory learning, life skills and holistic support into action-packed weekend, half-term and summer programming, we work to bridge the gap in support for young people whose needs can't be met in mainstream schools.
Refugee and asylum-seeking young people who have made the difficult journey to the UK – especially those who come alone – are saddled with many challenges common to starting a life somewhere new. Though they are required to enroll in school, more often than not, they aren’t provided with the language and psychological support necessary to succeed in their new circumstances. They are simply not set up to thrive. Coupled with budget cuts to tailored learning provision in schools, these young people often miss their chance to progress at a natural pace and to reach their fullest potential.
As educators, service providers and youth workers with years of experience working to offset the challenges these young people face, we launched a programme that helps develop young people’s English language skills whilst addressing their psychological and social needs, preparing them for mainstream education and helping them rebuild their lives in London.
We do this by providing interactive and engaging programming that combines English learning, life skills and practical and emotional strategies for young people on their journey to independence and adulthood.
About the Opportunity
Role Title: Treasurer

Role Summary
The Treasurer will be required to:

Monitor the financial standing of the charity and report to the Board and Director regarding cash-flow forecasting, income streams, out-going expenses and the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources.

Time Commitment
In line with all charities, Trustees are unpaid volunteers. Trustees must be able to commit to attending quarterly Board meetings and making time to read paperwork in advance of Board meetings. As a guideline, Trustees must be prepared to offer a minimum of four hours per month to the charity, for example to be involved in fundraising, interviews and business plans, etc. We will also require new Trustees to spend one day on site during one of our programmes to get a feel for the work, as well as undertake Trustee and Safeguarding training, within the first three months of starting the role.
Board meetings are currently held virtually, and, where possible, are arranged at least two months ahead. On occasion, Trustees will be required to respond on email or phone in relation to issues that arise outside of Board meetings. Travel costs will be covered if they are a barrier.

As a Governance Officer, you will work closely with the Governance Lead to ensure strong governance practices across Roots Academy. Your role will focus on supporting governance frameworks, policies, and compliance measures to align with charity governance requirements and relevant regulations. Key tasks
▪ Trustee Support

BuDS is an independent pan-disability organisation which is not tied to Government, NHS or council contracts. Our visionary aim is to abolish disability by building a world which is Fair4All, free of the barriers which disable people. What Does the Role Entail?

The Volunteer Finance Lead will assist the Fundraising team and the Operational Director in creating budgets, clarifying budget limitations, preparing cash flow forecasts, and ensuring the charity has a comprehensive understanding of operational and project costs to help us secure necessary funding.
Ideal candidates should be genuinely passionate about our mission and values, work well in a team, and be able to communicate financial information clearly to those who may not have a finance background.
As a Finance Lead, your main responsibilities will include:
- Give general financial advice for projects, events and activities strategy.
- Take leadership in preparing cash flow forecasts.
- Clarifying budget limitations.
- Take leadership on producing projected budgets, outlining expected income and expenses for specific periods of the charity lifecycle, helping our charity plan our finances and allocate resources.
- Taking on leadership for producing all events/activities/projects budgets and keeping accurate reporting of post-projects income/expenses records and producing reports to the board of trustees.
- Monitoring the financial health of all our projects.
- Produce general quarterly financial reporting to management and the board of trustees, highlighting points of concern.
- Contributing to decisions regarding financial strategy for our projects.
- Understanding and reporting costs for specific areas: internal staff, delivery staff, running activities etc.
- Able to recommend improvements and implement changes on financial processes and procedures, supporting the operational team to have clarity on our financial health.
What do you need to become our Finance Lead?
Essential:
- 3+ plus experience with accounts/finance
- Fully qualified Accountant or relevant financial qualification.
- Highly experienced with budgets and cost management of projects.
- Numerate, accurate individual with strong Excel, Word, and presentation skills
- Professional approach.
- Experience of working with small teams and communicating financial information clearly to those who may not have a finance background.
- Able to work on own initiative with a conscientious approach, always looking to continuously improve processes and be dedicated to the improvement of our charity's financial processes and procedures.

We're looking for a volunteer who is excited to build a long-term partnership with us and can adapt their schedule as needed.
We can be flexible and work with you to find hours that fit ours and your schedule, working out of office hours or weekends - all help is much appreciated!

The Chapter of Winchester Cathedral, with the approval of the Bishop of Winchester, wishes to appoint two additional Non-Executive Members of Chapter and Lay Canons.
What will you be doing?
Members of Chapter and Lay Canons duties include:
- Trustee responsibility for the governance and strategic direction of the Cathedral
- Involvement as a Lay Canon in the worshipping, ceremonial and social life of the Cathedral

What will you be doing?
We are looking for 2 volunteer coordinators to join the coordinators team who will volunteer to support our volunteers in various roles. The volunteer coordinators will

What are we looking for?
The Volunteer Co-ordinators role requires proactive and detail orientated individuals with an organised approach and an interest in supporting small charities. They will have good communication skills. The Volunteer Co-ordinators are responsible for the volunteer aspects of Burning Nights CRPS Support to ensure the smooth running of the charity’s services and ensuring that the volunteers are used optimally.
Our Volunteer Co-ordinators are also responsible for ensuring that suitable volunteers have DBS checks where needed and they are adequately trained to do their role working with our Charity Administrator.
