You'll ensure our governance remains robust and fit for the future, and that our Board continues to deliver collaboratively, constructively, and always aligned with our values.
You’ll also represent the charity externally to help us grow our network and strengthen local relationships, as well as amplifying our voice when the opportunity arises. You’ll also help us foster an environment where people feel valued, lived experience is in our central scope, and blind and partially sighted individuals remain at the heart of every decision we make.
We’re not just looking for someone to keep the wheels turning, we’re looking for a leader who understands how crucial it is to lead with integrity, empathy, and purpose. Someone who understands that the best kind of change evolves through collaboration, not control.
You don’t need to have been a Chair before, but you should bring experience as a senior leader in a professional setting or have worked closely with a CEO or senior executive. An understanding of charity governance is key, and we’re also looking for someone with flourishing people skills and a genuine commitment to inclusion and accessibility.
If you’ve got previous Trustee experience too, that’s a bonus.

Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) is a well-established and highly respected UK-based charity working to reduce malnutrition globally. ENN strives to enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by building evidence, convening critical actors and transferring knowledge. The Trustee Role
ENN is seeking to appoint a new Chair of Trustees to lead its Board with strategic insight, collaboration, and a deep commitment to the organisation’s mission. This is a significant and rewarding opportunity to guide the governance of a globally respected charity at a pivotal time in its journey.
As Chair, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring that the Board of Trustees operates effectively, provides strong oversight, and supports ENN to fulfil its charitable objectives. You will work in close partnership with the CEO and fellow Trustees to shape and monitor the delivery of ENN’s strategy, ensuring that the organisation complies with its purpose, charity law and company law and that the organisation pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document.

We are looking for a Chair who brings substantial leadership and governance experience, including at board level within the charity, public, academic, or international development sectors. While a background in nutrition or humanitarian work is not essential, a strong interest in global health, development, or social impact is important.
Your Responsibilities as a Trustee:
As Chair of the Board, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the overall effectiveness of ENN’s governance and strategic direction. You will guide the Board in fulfilling its collective responsibility to uphold ENN’s mission and values, while supporting the organisation to thrive in a complex and evolving funding landscape.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Chairing the Board of Trustees: Leading quarterly Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting, ensuring well-structured and inclusive discussions, clear decision making, and effective follow-up on actions.
· Strategic Leadership: Working with the CEO and fellow trustees to shape and review ENN’s strategic direction and priorities, especially in light of changes in the global funding environment.
· Supporting Fundraising and External Relations: Acting as an ambassador for ENN, supporting engagement with key stakeholders including donors, partners, and networks. Where appropriate, the Chair and trustees may play a role in donor cultivation or advocacy.
· Governance and Compliance Oversight: Ensuring that ENN complies with its Articles of Association, charity and company law, and sector best practice. Overseeing the effectiveness of risk management and ensuring proper financial controls are in place.
· Board Development and Succession: Ensuring the Board remains diverse, skilled, and effective by leading on trustee recruitment, development, and performance review processes. Championing a culture of inclusion and learning.
· Relationship with the Executive Director: Building a strong, supportive, and transparent relationship with the CEO. Providing guidance and challenge as a critical friend and ensuring effective communication between the Board and ENN’s Management Team.
· Safeguarding and Ethical Oversight: Promoting and safeguarding ENN’s reputation, values and policies including its commitment to safeguarding, equity, and ethical conduct.
· Adaptability in Financial Stewardship: Supporting the Board and Executive Team to respond proactively to funding challenges and opportunities, including exploring alternative funding models and revenue diversification.
· The Chair will be expected to attend quarterly Board meetings (held virtually and occasionally in-person), subcommittee meetings where relevant, and represent ENN externally when needed. This is a voluntary position, with reasonable travel and related expenses reimbursed.
Required Knowledge and Skills
· Demonstrable experience of senior leadership, preferably at board level, within the non-profit, public, or international development sectors.
· Strategic vision and the ability to identify and understand response to changing contexts.
· Proven ability to chair complex meetings effectively, enabling inclusive, strategic, and outcomes-focused discussions.
· A strong understanding of governance responsibilities, including the legal duties of charity trustees, and a commitment to high standards of ethical and financial stewardship.

· Experience in supporting income diversification and navigating financial uncertainty, including stewarding fundraising strategy, major donor engagement, or building new funding partnerships.
· A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to support and challenge constructively, build consensus, and maintain a strong, positive relationship with the CEO and senior management team.
· An ability to serve as an ambassador for ENN’s mission, engaging confidently with external stakeholders, donors, and sector leaders.
· A clear alignment with ENN’s values, commitment to equity and inclusion, and passion for reducing global malnutrition.
· Previous experience of charity trusteeship is desirable but not essential if the candidate demonstrates equivalent governance or board leadership experience in another sector.
Membership and Operation of the Board
The ENN Board of Trustees comprises individuals appointed by the Trust Members, selected for their diverse skills, experience, and commitment to ENN’s mission and values. Collectively, the Board provides strategic leadership, ensures good governance, and supports ENN in delivering its charitable objectives.
Trustees are appointed for an initial term of four years and are eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Trust Members at a General Meeting, in accordance with ENN’s Articles of Association.
The Chair of Trustees is elected by the Board from among its members. The Chair serves for a term of up to three years and may be re-elected for one additional term. This ensures a balance of continuity and renewal in Board leadership.
The Board meets quarterly and may convene additional meetings as required. Trustees are expected to attend meetings regularly and actively participate in subcommittees, working groups, and strategic initiatives as needed.
Time Commitment – And our Commitment to You
Your commitment in an average year is likely to be 4 pre-fixed board meetings, each of half a day. Each of these are preceded by sub-committee meetings, usually of ninety-minutes, and each trustee is expected to participate in one sub-committee. Other committee and ad hoc meetings and additional support will be arranged as agreed. We encourage active participation and engagement, and Trustees often give more time outside of this, on their own terms.
Board meetings are held virtually, with an intention to hold one facilitated face to face meeting at the ENN HQ in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, every two years. Additional sub-committee meetings will be convened remotely.
Ideally you will join the Board in 2025, though we can show some flexibility on this for the right candidate, and in your first few months you should allow for additional time for induction and orientation (including meeting a number of the Leadership Team).
Remuneration
This is an unpaid, voluntary position. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for attendance at Board meetings and other Trustee activities in line with ENN’s policies. Social anxiety involves an excessive fear of social situations. Sufferers will often fear being embarrassed or worry about being negatively evaluated by others. Anticipatory anxiety and situational avoidance are common, and individuals may endure social situations with a high level of discomfort. The scope of the anxiety may be focused on specific types of social situations or generalised to almost any social encounter.
We are the first UK charity dedicated to Social Anxiety.

Finance Trustee - What we are looking for
As with all our Trustee roles we are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and someone who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. For the Finance Trustee role you will:
· ideally be a qualified accountant
· have experience in financial management including budgets and forecasts, cash flow, investments and liquidity and financial systems
· an understanding of the audit process
You do not need previous governance experience – we will provide a full induction and training.

· An understanding of the difficulties faced by people experiencing significant challenges with their mental health.
· Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as trustees and to act in the best interests of the organisation.

est Cheshire Foodbank was established in 2012 to provide emergency food to people in crisis. We are part of the Trussell network of foodbanks and last financial year we provided food to 14,500 people in the 12 months to March 2025. We can only do this with the commitment of our volunteers, our small, dedicated staff team and the much-valued support of local businesses, organisations and individuals.
We are now looking for two new trustees, with relevant experience, who share our vision for a future without the need for foodbanks. You do not need previous experience as a trustee to apply for these roles.

Our Purpose is

Specific responsibilities Governance Trustee
- Ensuring WCFB is legally compliant with regulatory requirements in law.
- Advising and assisting Trustees and staff on all matters related to the charity’ compliance with charity law and other relevant legislation
- Ensure that all charitable activities undertaken by the charity are compliant with its charitable objectives as set out in the governing document
- Ensure all activities, processes and procedures of the Board of Trustees and the charity are consistent with the requirements of the governing document
- Acting as the principal contact with the Charity Commission for England and Wales
- Maintaining the Register of Trustees and informing the Charity Commission of any changes to it in good time
- Ensuring that all Trustees are eligible to serve in that capacity
- Ensuring that the Annual Report and Statement of Accounts of the Charity are submitted in good time to the Charity Commission
- Drafting the Annual Report of the Trustees for approval by the Board of Trustees
- Ensuring that proper records of the Board of Trustees are maintained
- Oversight of all matters related to GDPR and Data Protection
- Ensure that all legally required policies and procedures are in place and maintained appropriately
- Ensuring that any agreements entered into by the charity with other agencies or partners are compliant with charity law and the charitable objectives of the charity as well as fully protecting the interests of the charity
- If and when necessary, drafting any amendments and updates to the governing document of the charity including its charitable objectives and ensuring that the proper procedures for these to be brought into effect are implemented.
In order to carry out these duties, the Trustee will need to become familiar with the generalities of charity law, and how to interact with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the Information Commissioner's Office, the Trussell Trust and the support available from Trust Advice who are the Trussell Trust’s Governance partner.
General responsibilities of all WCFB Trustees
- Work alongside the Treasurer and the trustee board to ensure WCFB’s financial dealings are systematically accounted for and on time, independently examined (on income over £25k) and made publicly available as necessary
- Ensure WCFB is accountable, actively complying with statutory accounting and charity law reporting requirements
- Ensure that all charitable activities undertaken by WCFB are compliant with its charitable objectives as set out in its governing document
- Ensure appropriate financial plans are in place for future budget allocations as well as looking after contractual agreements with external partners that award money for core costs and additional projects
- Understand and commit to WCFB’s strategic direction and mission
- Contribute to the development and review of WCFB’s strategic plan, ensuring it aligns with the needs of people struggling to afford the essentials
- Help promote the organisation to a wider audience of potential funders, partners and people experiencing financial hardship and food insecurity

Overview of the role
Uttlesford Foodbank are seeking someone with financial experience to join the board as a trustee, who will be able to lead on financial matters, ensuring we meet our financial obligations and help us build a sound financial strategy as we move forward. This role involves leading on the financial affairs of the food bank and ensuring that they are conducted within the required legal, accounting, and good practice frameworks.
Responsibilities
As a trustee you will share collective responsibility for the governance of the food bank and all decisions made by the board, ensuring the organisation is well run, fulfils its mission, is compliant with charity law and that the charity is open and accountable. It is also the responsibility of the treasurer to work in partnership with the chairperson and other trustees to ensure the financial viability and development of the organisation.
Key tasks:

- ensure that the food bank has proper systems for budgeting, financial control, insurance and reporting

About Weldmar Hospicecare
Weldmar Hospicecare is an independent local charity that cares for people living with a life limiting illness, such as cancer, heart disease, or motor neurone disease. We also support the loved ones of our patients. We have been providing our care for the people of Dorset since 1994.
Our individually tailored care – where we focus on the person, not just their symptoms and illness – takes place in patients’ own homes, in community hospitals and care homes, and at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
Weldmar supports more than two thousand people across the north, south, and west of Dorset each year. All our care is provided free of charge. We help people live as good a life as possible when their illness cannot be cured.
Our team of staff includes specialist nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, counsellors, chefs, maintenance engineers, complementary therapists, retail professionals, and experts in fundraising, marketing, finance, people services, and more. About the role
Weldmare Hospicecare services are rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC, and we are seeking a clinically experienced Trustee to join our Board.
This is an exciting time to join the hospice; we are in a strong financial position, with many exciting priorities underway, including a big project in the Inpatient Unit and the creation of new outpatient services. We are currently refurbishing and updating our retail outlets and have good partnerships in our bordering counties of Somerset, Hampshire, Devon and Wiltshire.
