We are seeking a Trustee Treasurer to help to manage our finances and investments, as well as being involved in strategic decision-making and grant giving.

The Lipman Miliband Trust funds socialist research and education as well as “educational activities that raise public awareness and understanding of struggles and movements for peace, human rights and a more equal, diverse co-operative and democratic society.”
The Trust was established by socialist businessman Michael Lipman in 1974 and academic Ralph Miliband until his death in 1994. We are celebrating fifty years of the Trust’s existence this year – and looking forward to the next 50!
Having benefited from a significant increase in resources in recent years we have started on an exciting new phase of our development that has meant increasing staff support and expanding our outreach, fund-raising and grant-giving activities. We are currently a Board of ten trustees and we are now seeking a Trustee Treasurer who shares our values and our belief in the vital importance of socialist education.
About the role
You will work with our Trust Coordinator as well as external advisors and accountants in helping to manage our finances and investments, and be a member of our Governance and Finance Working Group. Our finances and investments are critical to the success of our work so we are looking for someone with experience of financial management and/or accounting, as well as some level of experience in understanding and/or managing investments. This is a voluntary, unpaid post, but we are happy to pay for appropriate additional training and there will be a lot of support from the Trust Coordinator and other trustees.
Being a Trustee is a significant commitment and responsibility, but it is also hugely rewarding. The role will require you to attend each of our four Trustee meetings a year, and to participate in regular online meetings of the Finance & Governance Working Group. You will be part of strategic decision-making about the Trust, contribute towards the Trust’s governance and take part in decisions about grant awards.
We are based in different locations around the country and most of our work is conducted online, however we aim to meet in-person as a Board at least twice a year.

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that affects 245,000 people in the UK every year. At least 48,000 of those people lose their lives to the condition. We believe that earlier diagnosis and treatment across the UK would save thousands more lives a year.

The UK Sepsis Trust has ambitious plans to increase awareness, educate wider networks beyond direct care health professionals and provide support to an ever-increasing population of survivors and bereaved. We are seeking to diversify the existing Trustee Board by gaining access to broader and deeper skills, backgrounds, and experiences. Our Trustees work in partnership with our Chairman and Chief Executives to ensure our resources are applied to maximum effect to achieve our purpose – through a clear vision and strategy, whilst exercising stewardship to operate an appropriate framework of governance.

Time Commitment

- In addition there are four informal meetings with the management team along with regular Trustee only meetings which are all held virtually
- The Finance and Governance Trustee would also be required to attend four finance and audit committee meetings per year.

Offering your skills and time each month will give our fledgling organisation the boost it needs as we deliver our long-term strategy. Carers' Hub is an independent local charity based in Brixton. Our mission is to improve carers’ lives in Lambeth through quality services and community engagement. We achieve this through four core workstreams: raising awareness of carers, influencing local policy through community engagement activities, improving carer wellbeing and connecting carers to each other and to support and training opportunities through our services.
Caring for a loved one, family member, friend or neighbour, can have a significant impact on all aspects of a carer's own life. Our dedicated and passionate team work with carers to help overcome challenges around managing at home, finances, caring with confidence, education and employment, physical health and emotional wellbeing.
We would now like to add to our Board and would like to hear from you if you are keen to offer your time and expertise to support us. We are particularly keen to hear from you if you have skills in the following areas:

Finance: accountancy, financial planning or budgets.

Safeguarding: experience of managing or overseeing safeguarding processes and practices.

Fundraising: writing applications or bids, or helping to raise funds

Senior management experience in a charity
We are also keen to hear from you if you have personal experience of being a carer, although this is not essential for the role.
Meetings take place at our offices, in person, in Brixton approximately once every two-three months. They currently run from 4pm until 6pm and we value our Trustees being able to attend meetings in person. It is hoped that you will be able to contribute your time to help develop pieces of work outside of meetings depending on your skill set and availability.

Media Trust is looking for new Trustees to join its Board to bring different perspectives and areas of expertise to complement and strengthen the Board’s skill set, experience and diversity. The new Trustees will bring enthusiasm for Media Trust’s work as well as relevant expertise, experience and networks to support the organisation in corporate/philanthropic fundraising or its programmes aimed at improving representation in the screen industries (film, TV, and gaming).
Media Trust believe it’s by giving everyone a voice that a more equal society is created. That’s why its working with hundreds of charities to strengthen their storytelling, through media, communications and digital skills training, delivered in partnership with media and creative industry partners and by matching media industry volunteers looking to give back. At the same time, it is giving underrepresented talent the creative media skills, access and mentoring support to break into the media.
