Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking an experienced and motivated Institutional Partnerships Manager who has significant experience securing high value partnerships with foundations, international development organisations, trusts, and multi-lateral donors.

We are looking for a proactive, creative team player who has excellent knowledge and passion for working in the international development sector. You will need to be confident at spotting opportunities, creating, and leveraging networks, and collaborating with senior leaders at a wide variety of organisations. Reporting to the Head of Institutional Partnerships, you will play a proactive role working with other teams across the Foundation on the development and delivery of strategic partnerships and facilitate effective sharing and learning.

About the role

As our Institutional Partnerships Manager, you will:

• Proactively seek and secure high value funding from trusts and institutional donors worth over £1m per annum.

• Lead development of high-quality proposals, coordinating input from other teams, including proposal writing, budget planning and contract management.

• With the Head of Institutional Partnerships, proactively develop and maintain a high-quality pipeline, building strategic relationships with key organisations and funders.

• Work closely with the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Adviser, enabling teams and the Programmes team to develop efficient impact measurement and accountability mechanisms for proposed grants.

• Coordinate due diligence processes, facilitate donor audits and external evaluations in collaboration with internal teams.

• Drive the external profile of the Foundation by representing TRF in networks, forums, and project consortia.

• Support the development of annual income and expenditure budgets/forecasts for institutional fundraising, prepare reports and give presentations on funding progress.

• Be at the fore front of latest donor trends and share knowledge across the organisation.

• Work at pace with strong multi-tasking and project management skills.

About You

To be our Institutional Partnerships Manager, you will likely have:

• Over 6 years’ experience of securing and managing grants valued at over £500,000 from institutional donors.

• At least 6 years’ experience of working with institutional donors such as the FCDO, EC, USAID, US State Department, Multi-laterals, and trusts and foundations, in a fundraising and/or programme capacity.

• Experience of delivering ambitious income targets and comfortable working in a performance

• management culture.

• Excellent research skills and market knowledge of leading funding organisations.

• Fluent in English (verbal and written) and excellent writing skills.

• Over 6 years’ experience working in an international development organisation.

• Proficient IT skills, more specifically Excel.

It would be useful (but not essential), if you also have:

• Understanding of journalism and media capacity building

• Understanding of legal and justice frameworks and processes

No one should feel alone when diagnosed with primary bone cancer. The Bone Cancer Research Trust strives to provide a supportive network for all primary bone cancer patients to limit their feelings of isolation and anxiety. Given the rarity of the disease, patients can often go through their entire treatment and recovery without meeting another patient, so external support is vital.

Over the last 4 years, our Support & Information Service has seen significant growth, and developed to become a leading source of support for patients, family members, siblings and friends of patients.  Our Support & Information team provide enduring support and ensure that this can be accessed at any point in a primary bone cancer journey and by anyone affected.

Our aim is to increase the reach of the service further, ensuring that all patients diagnosed in the UK have the opportunity to access our Support & Information Service.  The Support & Information Officer will play a pivatol role in achieving this through building lasting relationships with both patients and families and healthcare professionals.

They will assist in all aspects of the Bone Cancer Research Trust's Support & Information Service, including the organisation and delivery of  virtual support groups, the administration of the Charity's financial grants, the distribution of information resources and the administration of our digital groups. They will also have the opportunity to lead on the delivery of our regional in-person ‘Get-Togethers’, which bring the primary bone cancer community together to gain peer to peer support.The successful candidate will also play an important role in the continuous development of the Service, ensuring that impact is measured and feedback is acted upon.

The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.

We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. Job Responsibilities

Trust and foundations

• Update the trusts and foundations database and managing the pipeline of activity
• Prepare tailored applications to trusts and foundations
• Manage reporting deadlines to funders
• Work closely with the artistic teams and Executive Director to shape proposals
• Create budgets working with the Executive Director, Finance Director, Artistic Directors and Project Leads 

Individual and Corporate Giving

• Create individual giving schemes, exploring the potential for new initiatives such as membership and legacy programmes
• Cultivate relationships with potential individuals and steward donors
• Research potential corporate supporters – both corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sponsorship
• Pitch to potential donors and supporters

Event Planning

• Create a programme of cultivation events which could:

- thank and nurture existing donors

- act as a precursor to giving

- introduce individuals and companies to potential campaigns

- begin new relationship development

Good practice, such as ethical fundraising

• Development of an ethical fundraising statement, in partnership with Executive and Board
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations
• Supporting team in being part of a fundraising culture

General

• Day to day management of fundraising budget, creating and monitoring income targets and delivering compelling company messaging around charitable giving on and offline. 

Ideal candidates will have skills and experience as shown in the candidate pack including:

• Evidence of alignment with charity’s vision, mission, values and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Lived experience of disabling or marginalising barriers.
• Understanding and experience of performing arts landscape, key figures, organisations and funders.
• A curious, inclusive, flexible and collaborative working style with proven ability to work as part of a team across all levels.​.
• Clear communicator, team player, tolerant of other views.
• Fundraising track record, delivering against targets (in a similar sized arts or not-for-profit) and of securing significant donations at the five-figure level or more.
• Experience of monitoring and reporting against targets and managing budgets.
• Adept at supporting and structuring negotiations and at building relationships with stakeholders including Arts Council England.
• Thorough knowledge of the relevant fundraising legislation, regulations and financial issues and fundraising obligations of arts charities/Arts Council National Portfolio Organisations.
• Strong literacy, administrative, time management and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach to continuing professional development.
• Experience of dealing with public sector organisations at a senior level.
• Membership of relevant educational and/or professional bodies.

 The Willats Trust gives grants to Christian workers to share the Good News of Jesus in some of the poorest and most marginalised communities in the UK and Ireland.

As a young man in the nineteenth century, William Willats, observed that the poorest people in the city of Bath, where he lived, didn’t go to church simply because they didn’t have suitable clothes to wear to a religious place of worship. As a Christian he felt the injustice of this and set about taking the ‘church’ to the people. He set up a ‘Spiritual Guide’ programme where workers would visit the poorest in society to read them the Bible, pray with them and help them understand God’s word.

During this time, Mr Willats acquired a considerable number of properties across the Bath area.

The Trust currently owns and manages a property portfolio of in excess of £35m and awards approximately £500,000 a year in grants to support ‘Guides’ who bring the Good News of the Gospel to communities with little or no experience of or interaction with the Christian faith. 

We have an ambition to more than double that amount, transform our grant-making to be best-in-class and forge dynamic partnerships that extend the reach of the hope of the Gospel across UK and Ireland.

This role calls for a dynamic Chief Executive, with a Kingdom heart and commitment to evangelism, who brings a breadth of senior leadership experience, commercial skills, and prayerful wisdom in navigating the opportunities and challenges of the season ahead.

We are seeking a Chief Executive who:

• is passionately motivated to use their gifts to facilitate the resourcing of Christian workers to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the least reached and hardest to reach communities across the UK and Ireland.
• has experience in senior leadership in an organisation of a similar scope including setting vision, developing and delivering strategy and overseeing finances.
• is an inspirational team leader and an excellent communicator
• has commercial acumen with experience of assessing and making investment decisions involving property and other types of asset.
• has a servant heart, a highly collaborative nature and a passion to develop others
• has the focus and determination to deliver excellence, efficiency and growth.

The role is part-time (4 days a week) and permanent.

It is envisaged that a regular presence, likely to be 2 days a week, at The Willats Trust office in Bath will be necessary with occasional trips to other parts of the UK also required.
