About the role:
This role is based in Staffordshire (we have an office in Stafford or Stoke). The caseworker will work directly with children and young people across the area; with hybrid working an option after the 6 month probationary period.
This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. About the role:
This role is based in Islington (plus any information about travel, hybrid working, flexible)
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

About the Role:
- The Triage and Early Intervention Officer (TEIO) will be responsible for making initial contact with adults who may require support after experiencing domestic abuse.
- You will speak on the telephone to adults who have experienced domestic abuse and you will be responsible for completing risk assessments and safety planning. During the call you will provide practical and emotional support in a way that is flexible and caring, listening carefully to what is being said and showing empathy at all times.

About the role:
This role is hybrid between Bridewell Police Station and home (and therefore requires an appropriately confidential home space in which to work), with travel around the locality to meet with service users.
As a Senior IDVA you will:
- Identify and assess the risks and needs of male domestic abuse victims. Assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe, and develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs.
- Support the empowerment of clients, assisting them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse.
- Participate fully in the MARAC framework: refer clients to, attend and participate in meetings by being the voice of the client and follow up actions agreed, keeping the client's safety at the forefront.
- Take a lead in setting an example of good working practices and offer mentoring to colleagues. Be the initial contact for colleagues to provide advice and guidance on their casework.
- Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
- Provide effective line management of staff to ensure performance targets and agreed outcomes are met by the service. Monitor and oversee quality of service provision provided by the team, and identify learning and development opportunities. Support performance auditing, interpret data for commissioners and report on this.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring the service.
You will need:
- A SafeLives (or equivalent) IDVA qualification.
- Evidence of management capability.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching and influencing others.
- An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management.
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
- Experience of managing a complex caseload, and be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands.

About the role:
This role is based In Pontypool Police Station however we have currently adopted a hybrid model. As a Triage and Early Interventions Officer you will:
- Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client's needs is provided.
- Carry a caseload of clients who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally. Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.

- Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service.

About the role:
This role is based in our office at Whitecross Studio's, 50 Banner Street, London, with flexibility of hybrid working. The role requires travelling to other VS offices across London.
As a Senior Children and Young Persons Caseworker, you will be required to:
- Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments and ensure each CYP receives an individual tailored support package that fully meets their identified needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Provide one to one support to children and young people living in families affected by domestic abuse.
- Effectively manage a caseload of different risk level cases of approx. 10 and provide specialist support to reduce the risk and increase safety
- Review the assessment of risk on an ongoing basis, ensuring appropriate and immediate action is taken in respect of any CYP facing significant harm, making the necessary referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes as required given the legal framework relating to the protection of children and the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.
- To consult with and involve children and young people in making decisions about themselves and the development of the service.
- Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, with the intention of supporting children and young people who have been impacted by crime. Attend meetings as required.
- To advocate on behalf of children and young people affected by crime, to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met.
- Manage up to 4 staff, conducting supervisions and case reviews, supporting and coaching your staff in their practice and personal development.

- Experience of working directly with vulnerable children and young people aged 5 - 17, on a one to one basis, with a proven ability to work in creative and appropriate ways to engage with children and young people

About the role:
This role is based at Preston. Once your probation period is completed you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.
As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will be:
Focusing on victims of domestic abuse and will provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support
This will include supporting victims either face to face or over the telephone to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. It will involve developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
You will provide advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including
exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
You will participate fully in multi-agency meetings by being the voice of the client and follow up actions agreed in meetings keeping the client's safety at the forefront of proceedings.
You will need to:
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
- Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
- Experience of managing a complex caseload, to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised and methodical approach to work
- Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
- Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.
- This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.

As Training Officer, you will:
Be responsible for planning and delivering training and awareness-raising activities in relation to victims of crime in the Thames Valley.
You will deliver these to a range of audiences including Thames Valley Police, Criminal Justice agencies, educational facilities, community groups, and other statutory agencies and third sector organisations. Each training session will be tailored to your audience and some examples of training topics you will be focusing on are:
- Victim awareness (barriers to support, information on the Victims Code, promoting empathy and sensitivity etc.).
- Sexual Violence awareness
- Modern Slavery and Exploitation
The training will be delivered under the Thames Valley Victims First brand and you will spread awareness of how support can be accessed and what is available through your sessions.
You will lead on developing this new content for training in collaboration with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley. You will be consulting with stakeholders on their training needs and mapping emerging areas where further input is required. As part of the role, you will be responsible for developing the range of training programmes and keeping training materials up to date. You will maximise the use of social media accounts for training and will attend events and presentations to engage the local community and increase their knowledge on support for victims of crime. You will also work alongside both the RJ facilitator and volunteers in this area.
You will need to be able to work flexibly to accommodate the training requirements as well as experience of delivering presentations and structured training programmes and talks to a range of audiences. You will need to be IT literate and be effective with your communication.
This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. If you are unable to drive because of a disability please indicate this in your application in your personal statement so we can explore the feasibility of alternative arrangements. Travel will be required regularly across the Thames Valley in order to facilitate training development and delivery. We would ask that you reside within the Thames Valley region (Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire).
