We're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Volunteer CMS/WordPress User to assist in managing our website. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our digital platform effectively showcases the remarkable history of the WRAC and provides a seamless user experience for visitors.

Our purpose at Legasee is to record history in the words of the people who made it, in order to educate and raise awareness about the bravery, service and sacrifice our military personnel have made over the past century. 

What will you do?
As a Volunteer CMS/WordPress User at Legasee, your main responsibilities will be to showcase the remarkable history of the Women's Royal Army Corps (WRAC) on the Legasee website. This includes inputting descriptions, photos, and Vimeo codes onto our website, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols. You'll collaborate closely with our project team to prioritise content updates and improvements, contributing valuable insights and suggestions for enhancing user experience. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our digital platform remains engaging and accessible to visitors, thus playing a vital part in preserving the legacy of courageous women in military history.

What are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills. Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS), particularly WordPress (prior experience preferred), is desirable. You should have the ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to established protocols, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

As an event volunteer you will play a vital role by raising awareness of our services, assisting with fundraising and engaging with the local community.You will represent Magpas Air Ambulance at a wide range of events indoors and outdoors, come rain or shine. You may be assisting with car parking, meeting and greeting, setting up a stall, selling merchandise, engaging the public and answering questions. Magpas Air Ambulance have a presence at over 150 events each year and need reliable, friendly people like you to help us achieve this. At larger events you will be supported by an event lead and we'll always make sure you are prepared and confident, you don't need to have previous experience, just be willing to get stuck in!

As an event volunteer, you will be expected to:

• Represent Magpas Air Ambulance in a respectful and friendly manner.
• Understand the work of Magpas Air Ambulance to secure basic knowledge and enthusiasm for our service.
• Wear your Magpas Air Ambulance ID badge while volunteering, ensuring it's visible at all times.
• Follow the leadership and guidance of the event lead, staff member or event organiser.
• Assist in all event activities in a flexible and friendly manner.
• Have good communication skills and be able to work with other volunteers and staff as part of a team.
• Process the sale of merchandise and take donations.
• Follow all Magpas Air Ambulance policies and procedures, including reporting any accidents and incidents.
• Recognise, respond to and report any safeguarding issues or concerns.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

POST TITLE: Trustee (voluntary position)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Collective Board Responsibility

PURPOSE OF POST: To ensure the good governance of Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT)

HOURS: Evening Board Meetings of approximately 2 hours, 4 times per year with some additional commitments

SALARY: This is a voluntary role but reasonable expenses may be claimed

LOCATION: Meetings are normally held in SCT offices in Shoreditch (E1) or a

location near Liverpool Street Station (EC2)

ROLE FUNCTION: Charity Trustee - Finance experience is welcomed.

Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical help, support and training to people affected by homelessness and addiction. We are passionate about the people and communities we support and embrace creative, innovative and inclusive ways of working that build on our collective strengths. We provide a Recovery Hub (including an abstinence-based residential recovery facility, an addictions counselling programme and a Training & Development Programme), supported houses, a Housing First service, community supports, charity shops and two social enterprises supporting people in recovery from addictions to rebuild their lives. Our integrative approach is based on the concept of ‘Recovery Capital’, a whole-person approach taking into account physical, cultural, social, human and spiritual factors and assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Ensure the good governance of SCT in accordance with best practice

o Ensure with the Board and CEO that the charity’s Vision and strategic direction are aligned and consistent with the Charitable Objects as well as its operating environments

o Participate in Board meetings 4 times a year

o Use personal expertise to provide advice, assistance and guidance to the CEO as appropriate in consultation with other Trustees, including meetings and discussions with the CEO between Board meetings on specific issues or projects and attending Board committees (e.g. quarterly Finance Committee and/or Service Forum, etc.)

o Support and assist with the promotion of the Charity and its services

o The role has no Executive function

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

o A proven track-record in one of the following:

- a professional field

- the management of a service, department and/or organisation

- Governance and/or advisory role with an organisation

- lived experience of an issue relevant to SCT’s service provision

Desirable:

o Board/Committee experience

o A specialism in any of the following areas:

- Drug and alcohol addiction

- PR/Media/Marketing

- Fundraising

- Legal/Finance

- Human Resources

- IT

- Quality management

- Management

- Property/Real Estate/Housing

Ability to comply with the requirements and responsibilities of a trustee as set out by the Charity Commission 

As a collection tin volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting us to raise our profile and fundraise within your community.

You will look after the Magpas Air Ambulance collection tins within a designated area, replacing full tins and returning them to an agreed location. You can also help us by finding new locations in which to place tins. These collection tins are an important part of how we raise money, raising approximately £20,000 per year.

As a collection tin volunteer, you will be expected to:

• Represent Magpas Air Ambulance in a respectful and friendly manner
• Understand the work of Magpas Air Ambulance, having basic knowledge and enthusiasm for our service
• Wear your Magpas Air Ambulance ID badge, ensuring it's visible at all times
• Travel to your collection tins (on two or four wheels). Where motorised vehicles are used, you must hold a full UK driving license, have a road-worthy vehicle with up-to-date road tax, MOT certificate (where applicable) and fully comprehensive insurance.
• Establish the regularity of required tin collections in your area, keep a log of your activities and feedback to the Supporter Care Officer
• Proactively replace full collection tins as needed and deliver them to an agreed location within one working day of collection
• Place new tins in locations within your area, ensuring they are accurately labelled with the location and organisation's name
• Inform the Supporter Care Officer of any new tins placed or any changes, helping us to ensure records are accurate and kept up to date
• Follow all Magpas Air Ambulance policies and procedures, including reporting any accidents and incidents
• Recognise, respond to, and report any safeguarding issues or concerns
