The Charity

The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part. 

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to deliver, manage and support our YAT Adventure Programme.

Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the Adventure Programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting residential adventure camps and activity days throughout the year.

• Recruiting young people to the programme, working in collaboration with our referral partners including schools and other organisations, ensuring all involved have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.

• Working in partnership with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require. 

• Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.

• Providing ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.

• Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.

• Working with the Mentoring Managers to select and support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promote take up of the Bursary Programme. 

• Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.

• Taking the lead with day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This will include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.

• Contributing to organisational planning and development, including supporting the development of further opportunities for young people. 

• Supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports or event support.

You will also;

• Be involved in sector networking and awareness raising on behalf of the Trust.

• Act as an ambassador for the Youth Adventure Trust at all times.

The post is subject to a six months’ probationary period.

The Candidate

To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable and challenging young people. You’ll need demonstrable skills at building effective relationships with young people, parents/carers and professional organisations. You’ll need strong influencing and motivational skills; the capacity to get the best out of people and confidently deal with issues and challenges. You’ll be an excellent communicator, planner and problem solver, a strong team player and an exemplary role model. 

We need someone with:- 

• Commitment to safeguarding and dedication to promoting the welfare of young people.

• Relevant experience of managing young people, preferably in a residential environment as well as outside of this.

• Experience in working in partnership with other professional organisations and parents/carers.

• Strong leadership and team skills to motivate, support and work alongside a team of volunteers, activity instructors and logistics staff. 

• Self-motivation with the ability to work on their own initiative to plan and manage their workload.

• Strong IT skills including experience of MS Office, web based platforms and databases.

• Excellent administrative skills and a methodical and thorough approach.

• The ability to perform well and problem solve in high-stress and changing situations. Ability to be flexible and dynamic in approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A positive attitude, high energy and enthusiasm for the work of the Youth Adventure Trust; an understanding of the positive impact outdoor adventure can have on vulnerable young people, and a desire to help inspire young lives.

In addition:-

• The ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends as required is essential - the role includes attending several residential camps over the year, and some weekend days working on activities. If you are looking for a predictable 9-5 work environment, this won’t be the right fit.

• A full current driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with hyperlocal, local, and national businesses, stewarding the organisations to become Mustard Tree’s partners, and for us to be their ‘Charity of the Year’, donating to and fundraising for the charity.

You will manage an existing caseload of these valued partners, with the opportunity to proactively create new relationships and partnerships, contacting through multiple channels, creating content, and hosting, touring, and presenting to businesses.

In addition to corporate partnerships, you will manage the recruitment and stewardship of Mustard Tree’s events fundraisers, being responsible for the administration, making sure all places are filled, planning the events, and helping all participants hit their fundraising targets.

Main Duties

Corporate Partnership

• Steward a cohort of existing Corporate Partners through email updates, calls, social media activity and booking monthly check-ins, as well as sharing infographics, case studies, events information, and newsletters when useful.
• Proactively build new relationships, ultimately securing new donors, partners, and ‘Charity of the Year’ organisations. Make it clear and easy for donors to understand what we do, how they can help, and the impact they will have.
• Host, tour, or present at a minimum of four organisations per week.
• Manage inquiries, emails, and queries relating to partnerships, corporate donations, volunteering, and events, ensuring timely responses.
• Manage the partnership inbox and work with the Fundraising team on our corporate bookings calendar.
• Work with the Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator to plan and book Social Value Days for partners and prospective partners.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Communications team to develop and publish copy, advertisements, social media content, and create WordPress pages relevant to Corporate Partnership and Events.
• Host Corporate Partners for their volunteering inductions and debriefs and follow up with a thank-you email the same week.
• Manage data entry and administration surrounding partnerships, including communication, contacts, setting targets, and funds raised, through software and our CRM, for example.
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to assign new and existing partners
• Provide weekly updates on targets and expected income, and work to provide accurate forecasting.

Events Fundraising

• Manage our existing events portfolio of The Great Manchester Run, Tough Mudder, Trafford Abseil, October Half Marathon, being responsible for their success.
• Investigate and develop new events to complement our 12-month calendar.
• Empower organisations to plan independent fundraising events and create a fundraising toolkit to support this.
• Support the running of our October Fundraising Dinner
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to project events income and build a 12-month fundraising pipeline.

General Duties

• Supporting the Fundraising Team et al, including administration, cover, and events attendance when required.
• Support the Fundraising & Finance Teams with data entry, CRM updates, and the creation of KPI data when required.

Role Context and Purpose

Following recent and projected growth of the organisation, Gaddum is looking to recruit additional resource within the Central team to bolsters its support to the organisation ensuring delivers safe and high quality services.

The post holder, line managed by the Finance and Resources Director will join the finance team and play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial administration of the charity. You will also play a key role in improving our financial systems and process as we continue to grow. Main Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Ensure robust financial administration of all supplier payments and funder receipts including all entries into accounting system to relevant programme and project budgets and the subsequent filing of all payment documentation.

• To provide a professional and comprehensive service in dealing with finance queries raised by suppliers, customers and funders Accounts Payable

• Ensure goods and services invoiced have been ordered and charged in accordance with the approved purchase order • Raise regular BACs payments, ensuring all creditors are paid in accordance with internal policies

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society. Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

We are currently looking for an OTW Project Assistant who will support the delivery of the On The Water project at one of our boating stations in London. The project provides young people from outside Sea Cadets, age 9-14, the opportunity to get on the water, learn new skills and build confidence through boating activity. This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, inspiring, organised, creative, tenacious, positive, IT competent and with a real interest in people with a attention to detail and real enthusiasm for the project.

Project delivery takes place between 29 July 2024 and 30 August 2025 when the young people will be attending boating sessions. During this busy time the Project Assistant will be based at the boat station each day to complete registration, manage group change overs, track project targets, encourage survey completion and fill booking gaps. Prior to delivery the role will be focused on supporting the booking process and engaging in community outreach. Once delivery is complete, the Project Assistant role will then predominantly be supporting the evaluation and data collection as well as supporting participants to join their local Sea Cadet unit.

• The welcoming and registration of participants for the On The Water project
• Collecting and uploading daily statistics and figures that show how the project is progressing

• Talking to participants and their parents/carers about the opportunities within Sea Cadets

The Head of Operations will be part of the senior leadership team and support the CEO in the leadership, management and day-to-day operations of Sound Minds. They will deputise as required and make a significant contribution to strategic planning for the organisation, with a strong focus on operational activity. They will lead on all operational, health and safety, premises, IT, systems, human resources, governance, reporting and fundraising activity, whilst maintaining key relationships with external stakeholders.

Sound Minds is a creative place and the Head of Operations will need a passion for administration and organisation.

HIAS+JCORE stands for a world in which refugees find safety, community, and are welcomed by good neighbours, built on our Jewish values and history of Compassion (Rachamim), Responsibility (Arvut), Solidarity (Shlemut) and Partnership (Gishur). We exist to enable refugees and asylum seekers to flourish as a part of a society free from xenophobia and racism.  

Our organisation came into this form through the joining of forces in 2023 between two organisations: the Jewish Council for Racial Equality (JCORE) and HIAS. We are now embarking on our next stage as an organisation having launched our 2024-27 strategy, which outlines exciting plans for growth and development.  

Responsibilities 

Mobilising community groups  

• Build and maintain relationships with synagogues and communal denominations.  

• Work with clergy, synagogues and denominations to develop programmes and content related to refugees, asylum, social cohesion, and xenophobia, including a network of advocates and ambassadors within communities.  

• Develop outreach and recruitment pathways for community members to volunteer in HIAS+JCORE projects and beyond.  

• Develop and pilot a project of community-based volunteering, building relationships with sector partners and Jewish communities to support, resource, and network such groups.  

• Support the coordination between and development of local community projects that engage with asylum seekers and refugees, including Drop Ins, community sponsorship (Welcome Circles), and collections.  

• Where possible, foster interdenominational dialogue and interfaith partnerships.  

Developing and delivering our youth and student work  

• Work with youth movements, students, and community groups to develop programmes and content related to refugees, asylum, social cohesion, and xenophobia.  

• Arrange visits, including with speakers, to campuses and communities.  

• Develop new and innovative programmes in national, campus-wide, and online contexts.  

Developing partnerships across the community  

• Developing relationships with organisations across the Jewish community.  

• Organise high quality, collaborative events, campaigns and projects, including developing both Refugee Shabbat and Refugee Week as key aspects of the communal calendar.  

• Bring together high-quality content for other Jewish community events and activities.  

• Build a network of skilled advocates for refugees and social cohesion.  

Administration and Evaluation  

• Work to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for projects.  

• Provide regular reports for trustees and funders.  

• Work with HIAS+JCORE staff to secure funding for the project, such as through producing reports.  

Other Duties  

• Contribute to HIAS+JCORE communications and campaigns  

• Play a part in and contribute to HIAS’s global community engagement strategy   

• Attend regular team and supervision meetings

The successful applicant will support the effective operation of Sarcoma UK's supporter database (Raiser’s Edge NXT) and contribute to accurate financial reporting. The role ensures that data is managed to a high standard, enabling the organisation to deliver its strategic and charitable objectives. The postholder will also assist the Finance team with timely and accurate income reporting and reconciliations.

Duties and key responsibilities

Database Administration (Raiser’s Edge NXT)

• Maintain and update supporter records, including constituent and gift data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Process donation streams including MuchLoved, Enthuse and others, ensuring accurate integration and reconciliation.
• Work with the Database Manager to develop and manage Omatic Cloud processes for importing and automating gift data from external fundraising platforms.
• Process and record Gift Aid declarations in accordance with HMRC guidelines.
• Conduct data cleansing activities to maintain accuracy of records (e.g. address updates).
• Manage and maintain subscription forms (WordPress), ensuring accurate data capture and integration with Raiser’s Edge NXT.
• Extract and analyse data to support fundraising and operational reporting using Raiser’s Edge NXT queries and Excel.
• Contribute to the annual internal database audit, collaborating with the Senior Database Officer and Database Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.

Financial Support

• Monitor all income and update the income spreadsheet daily.
• Monthly reconciliations between Raiser’s Edge NXT and the income spreadsheet.
• Work with the Senior Finance Officer to carry out income reconciliations between Sage 50 and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
• Deposit all physical donations into the bank account weekly.
• Provide general support to the Senior Finance Officer as required.

Cross Function Collaboration

• Work closely with the Senior Database Officer to align on day-to-day data processing.
• Collaborate with the Finance Team on reconciliation and reporting.

Other

• Work flexibly and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, undertaking other duties as required to support the wider operations of Sarcoma UK.

Training Standards Officer

We are looking for a part time Training Standards Officer (21 hours per week) to work in the Learning Directorate at the Royal College of Pathologists. This role is key to support our members by facilitating the maintenance of specialty postgraduate curricula in seven pathology specialties and subspecialties, as well as ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements of the GMC.

This role will project manage the quality assurance processes for training qualifications our members complete as part of their professional development. Your role will be to review and update the curricula for all College qualifications and provide regular reports for both internal and external bodies. We are looking for a strong administrator who can plan and implement a timetable for regular reviews of curricula by committees, ensuring compliance with timelines/deadlines as required.

The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. It is a body of its Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates and trainees, supported by the staff who are based at the College's London offices.

The College is a charity with over 13000 members worldwide. The majority of members are doctors and scientists working in hospitals and universities in the UK.

The College oversees the training of pathologists and scientists working in 17 different specialties, which include cellular pathology, haematology, clinical biochemistry and medical microbiology.

Although some pathologists work in laboratories, many work directly with patients in hospitals and the community. Together, they are involved in the majority of all diagnoses and play an important role in disease prevention, treatment, and monitoring. If you have ever had a blood test, cervical smear or tissue biopsy, a pathologist will have been involved in your care.
