Job Title: Engagement & Activity Practitioner

Salary:  £26,854 per annum (increasing to £29,838 per annum after 18 months) + £750 per annum Homeworking Allowance and £4,184 London weighting per annum- (if eligible)

Hours: 35 Hours per week 

Contract: Permanent Role

Location: Home-based, with regular travel required to support children and young people in foster families in South London & South-East. Travel also requires the postholder to attend staff meetings and team away days in South/East London

We are looking for someone with experience in running group and individual activities and who is willing to engage in physical activities with children and young people.  

This role requires the candidate to meet with children and young people in person across the South London & South-East regions, and to work flexibly around hours and days, including weekends.

The successful candidate will be required to attend regular monthly face-to-face meetings in London, as well as other face-to-face meetings such as training and team wellbeing events.

Overall Duties of the Engagement & Activity Practitioner will include:

• Being an accessible point of contact for the children living with our carers and to our young people, keeping them up to date with the facilities and opportunities available with TACT.
• Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements.
• Being able to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed).
• Organising and participating in virtual and face-to-face events and occasional residential meet-ups.
• Managing all paperwork associated with events and activities.
• Willingness to work flexibly, according to deadlines and needs of our families.
• Undertaking trauma-informed direct work with children and young people.
• Liaising with our Supervising Social Worker team.

Job Summary
 
When someone goes missing, Missing People provides help to families, friends and professional carers who wish to publicise their appeal. This can be through the charity’s website resources, appeals and opportunities for publicity in the media.
 
You will support families, friends and professional carers to make appeals when someone has officially been reported as missing. The role will involve communicating in a timely, compassionate and knowledgeable manner with people experiencing the trauma of missing someone and managing families’ initial expectations of the service. You will assess the most appropriate activities to safeguard and reconnect the missing person and be responsible for police liaison and updates. You will assess with families the use of public display publicity which may begin after 3 days and help families to understand what they can do themselves. You will work closely with the Communications team, providing them with accurate and timely information if publicity is the appropriate choice. You will also access and process 'Urgent missing’ requests and work with the Communications team to make the alert happen.
 
You will understand the needs of longer-term families who still want to publicise their missing person, and you will advocate on their behalf to help make sure their voice is heard.
You will work collaboratively with specialists in Family Support, Publicity, Helpline and Fundraising & Communications teams to support the families and missing people we are here to help.
 
Key Accountabilities:
 
Service delivery
• Assess and process incoming requests from, family members, friends and professional carers and agree the most suitable support and publicity actions. Manage requests with high standards of accuracy, risk and criteria management, data management, and confidentiality;
• Risk assess all contacts to ensure any safeguarding issues in relation to the missing person or their family members are dealt with effectively. Participate in safeguarding decision making and implement safeguarding procedures.
• Handle sensitive interactions, deal with crisis intervention situations, assess risk within Missing People policy and consult where appropriate
 
Team Working and external communications
• Ensure families are aware of all the services on offer to them, working collaboratively with other members of the team to provide a smooth transition into Family Support and Publicity
• Work closely with IT, Impact, Family Support, Publicity and helpline teams identifying data issues,
• Communicate updates and signpost into Missing People’s services, initiatives, engagement opportunities, events and activities to family members and other people affected by a disappearance
 
Volunteer supervision and support
• Train volunteers on shift in identified tasks. Provide clear written instructions and demonstrate the task through examples and shadowing.
• Monitor volunteer work on shift to ensure good record keeping, professional communication, appropriate safeguarding and accuracy
 
About you

• Experience of working in a frontline service delivering advice, help or support to vulnerable people by phone or digitally;
• Experience and/or demonstrable understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and/or young people;
• Experience of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders including volunteers, other teams and the police or other statutory services.
 
Abilities, Skills and Knowledge:
• Ability to risk assess, make welfare and needs assessment and take appropriate safeguarding and contact care actions.
• Knowledge of the issues surrounding missing children and vulnerable adults;
• Aware of and sensitive to the impact of class, gender and race and to be willing to act appropriately;
• An ability to navigate the issues and nuances of working with people experiencing trauma in a way that centers their needs with an expert but open approach.

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and knowledgeable experienced Group Facilitator to join our Hertfordshire team to support our Dementia Support Group. Our Group Facilitators all have a shared passion to support people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives!

Location – Hertfordshire (with regular travel across the county) some homeworking required so reliable home Wi-Fi is required.
Hours – 28 per week

Alzheimer’s Society are working in partnership with Age UK and Carers in Hertfordshire to deliver the new Dementia Support contract called Memory Support Hertfordshire, managing 22 centre-based activities groups (weekly) across the local area, running carers and Young Onset specific groups both online and face-to face.   Our groups are well established and a crucial means of support to service users and carers.  This is an exciting time to join as we are in the process of reviewing our groups and we hope that this will result in us developing more groups (respite, specific communities or location specific) in the coming months. Our Group Facilitator’s have many key functions; this will include planning and coordinating weekly activity-based groups (could range from 2-4 groups per week).  You will plan engaging and supportive activities in a structured rolling 12-week program
with defined outcomes for each session and this will be done in consultation with service users and carers.  You will also coordinate volunteers that support your groups, work with local Dementia Advisers to provide 1-2-1 support for groups attendees and establish relationships with local organisations for the purposes of facilitating signposted support for service users. You will be joining a team of expert Group Facilitators and Dementia Advisers that are experienced and passionate about their work and they will support you to undertake your role successfully.  

About you:

- Passionate about supporting people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives.
- Experience of managing, planning and supporting engaging groups sessions with people. 
- Strong communication skills to deliver advice and guidance with a non-judgmental and compassionate approach and collaborating with other professionals.
- Good IT skills, including experience working with databases and virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom).
- Be able to travel independently across Hertfordshire and transport any resources required for your group sessions.

What you’ll focus on: 

- Managing and facilitating weekly activities-based groups (could range from 3-4 groups per week) across Hertfordshire 
- Planning a range of meaningful activities for your groups structed within a rolling 12-week program.  
- Resourcing and setting up your groups which could mean moving and setting up tables and chairs and clearing up at the end of the session
- Manage volunteers that support your groups.
- Offering support to group attendees and working with local Dementia Advisers to provide 1-2-1 support for groups attendees.

- Writing and updating of ‘Wellbeing Plans’ that capture a person’s history, current support needs, and future wishes.
- Supporting our peer-support groups, delivering carers education courses and engaging in awareness raising events in the community.
- Identifying service user support needs and referring onwards to appropriate organisations (e.g. social services, other charity organisations).

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

As part of this role, you will:

• Collaborate with Careers Leads across academies to design and implement a high-impact careers education programme aligned with the latest statutory guidance, including the enhanced Gatsby Benchmarks and each academy’s improvement priorities
• Plan and deliver engaging careers assemblies that expand students’ awareness of post-16 and post-18 pathways, alongside other relevant career-related topics
• Provide impartial, tailored career guidance through one-to-one meetings and group sessions that empower students to make informed, realistic and adaptable decisions about their futures
• Accurately record all guidance interactions and agreed actions on Unifrog, ensuring student data is kept up to date and accessible
• Offer targeted support to students navigating post-16 and post-18 transitions, including referrals to specialist services for those with additional needs, such as SEND
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, networks, and partners to enrich the careers and higher education offer and maximise student outcomes
• Track, monitor and report on student aspirations to inform strategic planning and targeted interventions
• Engage parents and carers in the careers guidance process, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s journey, including attendance at parents’ evenings
• Facilitate meaningful employer encounters that inspire students and broaden their understanding of the world of work
• Attend key events such as results days and enrolment days to provide on-the-spot careers support and guidance
• Support colleagues across the team by sharing best practice, offering shadowing opportunities and contributing to a collaborative learning culture
• Actively contribute to Careers Adviser team meetings by sharing insights, experiences or resources that enhance practice and support team development
• Provide careers-related evidence and representation during Ofsted inspections, showcasing the strength and impact of the careers provision

As a Dementia Adviser, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide support, information, and guidance to people with dementia and their carers; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. The service is unique to each service user as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. You will offer support to your clients in a variety of ways, whether in the client's own home, or at other locations in the community, face to face, by phone, letter, or email. You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals, and facilitating peer support groups for people living with dementia on occasions in various location in the area!
 
Hours - 21 hours
Location - Community based in Fylde and Wyre (or within a commutable distance) with some homeworking

You will need

- Confidence and ability to communicate with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding. You will be required to speak publicly at events about dementia, delivering information and signposting people to further resources and networks. 
- Ability to support people affected by dementia to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives. 
- Able demonstrate your skills being proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong IT skills for inputting detailed, factual case records on a client database and using virtual meeting software.
- Ability to travel across local area and wider area on occasions. 

What you’ll focus on:  

- Delivering personalised and tailored support to people affected by dementia. This could include the person living with dementia, carer, family or friends. 
- Being a named, trusted contact for people affected by dementia, enabling access to vital services whilst improving people’s sense of well-being, and giving people control over their lives and decisions. 
- Managing own caseload of clients and referring people to the appropriate health and social care organisations when required, including safeguarding’s. 
- Providing advice and guidance at local peer groups, specific dementia groups and community networks, whilst looking out for new opportunities to promote the service and maintain the profile of dementia services across the area.

CPAG is seeking an AI Coordinator for a two-year fixed term to support our work in the responsible use of AI. In this role, you will lead on planning, delivering, and monitoring AI projects in collaboration with our partner organisations. This work involves the ongoing protection of CPAG's intellectual property and reputation as a sector leader. You’ll carry out regular evaluation of each project and regularly update stakeholders with performance metrics, user feedback, and impact assessments.

This new role also involves developing training materials and delivering sessions to upskill CPAG staff in AI technologies, with tailored materials for the needs of different teams. You will ‘own’ and maintain the relevant internal policy documents and processes for AI use and will oversee the use and optimisation of AI tools across the organisation. Alongside colleagues, you’ll manage risk and compliance (including legal and ethical standards) to ensure responsible AI adoption that is fully compatible with CPAG’s mission. You’ll monitor developments in AI, assessing new products for risk and opportunity, and share lessons learned across the charity.

We’re looking for someone with strong project coordination skills, experience of managing multiple stakeholders, and a keen interest in and experience of AI and emerging technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape CPAG’s AI work, helping the organisation innovate and support the sector responsibly while building practical AI capability across teams.

We are seeking a Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager to manage vital supporter partnerships to further our shared goal to end hunger worldwide. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy to shape the Trusts and Foundations strategy and deliver ambitious income targets. They will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing Trusts and Foundations partnerships, and also play a pivotal role in developing the fundraising stream.
