Trustee needed for Faith in Action Homelessness Project. We are seeking a Trustee to join our committed Board working to end homelessness in Merton.
About Us: FiA runs a twice weekly drop in for homeless and vulnerably housed people and a Winter Night Shelter which works in collaboration with faith groups including a Mosque, a Synagogue, a Hindu Temple and Christian churches to provide overnight accommodation and support to find long term housing solutions.

Role Objectives
- Acting as lead expert on the Board in relation to management of Crossness as a heritage asset.
 - Advising on regulatory and policy issues in heritage buildings and assets.
 - Ensuring high standards of achievement in all aspects relating to Museum Accreditation including Building restoration, Collections and Archives.
 
Responsibilities
- Liaising with the Restoration, Archives and other relevant teams including developing work plans.
 - Overseeing funding requirements in major grant applications.
 - Being part of the Building Condition Survey sub-group.
 - Liaising with volunteers and suppliers on developing work plans and ensuring their completion.
 - Contribute to financial and business plans to achieve the heritage asset goals of the Trust.
 
Candidate requirements
Essential
- Experience working in a senior heritage management role.
 - Excellent understanding of the needs of heritage assets and the roles of volunteers and staff in their management.
 - Understanding of key stakeholder networks and sources of information useful to the Trust.
 - Excellent communication skills including with staff and volunteers as well as fellow trustees.
 - An understanding of the importance of collaboration and problem-solving.
 - Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office 365.
 - Commitment to attend board meetings regularly and volunteer for other sub-committees as appropriate.
 - Able to devote around 2-3 hours per week on preparing for meetings.
 - Treating colleagues with respect and politeness.
 
Desirable
- Experience working in the charity sector.
 - Experience as a volunteer at a similar organisation.
 - Experience in Digital, Marketing and Finance would also be useful.

What we need from you
You’ll be:
- Volunteering alongside colleagues including the branch coordinator/team leader, Cat Welfare team, branch development manager and Vet team to ensure that cat care policies, procedures and standards are applied
 - Support fosterers to follow cat welfare policies and procedures
 - Acting as the main point of contact within the branch for cat welfare and ensuring that welfare updates are shared and implemented effectively
 - Supporting the branch by ensuring that accurate and up to date records of all cats helped are maintained, using specified systems
 - Attending relevant volunteer training sessions and encouraging other volunteers to do likewise
 - With the other volunteers, recruit, induct and support all branch fosterers and cat care volunteers
 - Represent the branch at relevant meetings
 - Play an active part in the branch committee, being part of the branch team leading on cat adoption information and updates

Solta o Jogo is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.
As part of this initiative, we are seeking a dedicated Admin Assistant to support the day-to-day coordination and administrative operations behind this exciting and community-driven programme.

The Admin Assistant will play a vital role in supporting communication, event coordination, documentation, and volunteer tracking. Purpose of the Role
This volunteer role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering a range of services across Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. We support clients with mental health with both clinical and non-clinical interventions.
The purpose of the current role is to help promote our Adult Co-production services within the local community, to increase engagement and develop collaboration between various organisations and mental health services. Our current Co-production initiatives include the Adult Co-production Group, The Shakti Project (wellbeing service for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals) and a new Young Adult Co-Production group working with 18–25-year-olds.
Main Responsibilities
This role involves working closely with service managers and the co-production coordinator to discover new organisations and community events to reach out to establish a presence and promote our co-production services, as well as work in partnership with others to improve our services.
This would include identifying appropriate locations to distribute posters and promote the service, assisting with the creation of digital content promoting the service both digitally and in-person, identifying an in-person location that could function as a community hub to host regular meetings (Chai and Chat for the Shakti Project), setting up the community hub on a regular basis prior to meetings, helping with the planning and delivery of enrichment trips and outings, and keeping up to date with important events that can be used to promote our services and engage with the community e.g. Eid, Diwali, Black History Month, Mental Health Awareness week, Health Fairs, Career/ Volunteer Days, Freshers Fair etc.
Tasks
· Promoting the service to members of the South Asian and BAME community (Shakti Project) and 18–25-year-olds (Young Adult Co-Production Group)
· Community outreach: visiting places of worship, events, and communal areas in the tri-borough to promote our projects
· Keeping up to date with online groups and forums that can be used to promote the service
· Assisting in setting up a physical space to host regular Shakti Project group sessions, ensuring accessibility requirements of service users are upheld.

· We will provide volunteers with an induction, training, and ongoing mentoring to support them in the role.

Volunteer Admissions Assistant
You'll be multitasking throughout the day, with a mix of responsibilities including customer service, ticket sales, promoting Gift Aid donations, shop duties, guiding visitors and providing information about the Museum and the collection. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and love engaging with people, this is the role for you.
The Volunteer Admissions Assistant role is all about making a lasting impression and creating a memorable visitor experience. You’ll be:
- Welcoming and engaging with visitors, sharing information about the museum and its collection.
 - Selling tickets and gift shop items, ensuring smooth transactions and great customer service.
 - Collecting data for Gift Aid and marketing purposes, including how visitors found out about us.
 - Creating positive experiences to encourage return visits and word-of-mouth recommendations.
 - Helping visitors explore the Museum through interpretation, answering questions and distributing trails, accessibility and family activities.
 - Maintaining the gift shop, including restocking, counting stock, and setting up attractive displays.
 - Conducting online research and building contact lists to support marketing efforts.
 - Promoting the Museum locally, raising awareness and encouraging more visitors to discover what we have to offer!
 
Who we’re looking for:
We’d like to extend an invitation to anyone, particularly members of the local community. Full training will be provided, we are looking for anyone with:

 - Multitasking skills – with various responsibilities such as selling tickets, guiding visitors, and managing the gift shop, you will be able to juggle tasks efficiently

This role offers plenty of variety, and you'll play an important part in making every visitor's experience unforgettable.
Training and support:
All volunteers will first be invited for a training shift. We have an induction and training process, during which we give volunteers the information they need to enjoy their time with us. Training is mainly 'on the job', supported by an experienced volunteer as well as the manager on duty. Volunteers are given regular feedback and we remain open to suggestions on how we can improve the volunteer experience. The Admissions Assistant receives continued training and development throughout their time with us.
Availability:
We are looking for volunteers who would ideally like to donate 2-4 shifts per month, weekdays or weekends, either as a 10-1.30pm shift, or a 1.30-5pm shift, for a minimum of 3 months. Ideally, you will be able to start immediately, although this is not essential. Travel expenses up to £5 will be paid, with up to an additional £5 for lunch expenses if you are on a full day shift.
