Fundraising Manager

As the Fundraising Manager for Behind Closed Doors, you will play a key role in developing and delivering a fundraising strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision, mission and values. This is an exciting and varied role with an opportunity for the post-holder to put their own stamp on it. As our Fundraising Manager, you will build on existing relationships with individual donors, community groups and corporate partners, as well as seeking new opportunities.

We are looking for a Legacy and Administration Manager to join our Finance and Operations team on a part-time basis (2 days per week). This role will report to the Director of Finance and Operations. 

Job Purpose

Legacies are one of the most vital sources of income for Operation Smile UK, helping us continue our work supporting patients with cleft around the world. We’re now looking for a Legacy Administration Manager to join our dedicated team and ensure that every gift left to the charity is managed with care, professionalism, and in line with the wishes of our supporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of residuary, specific, and reversionary legacy cases from initiation to completion, optimising income while upholding all legal, ethical, and organisational standards.
• Communicate with empathy and professionalism with executors, solicitors, and beneficiaries’ families, including handling enquiries and confirming receipt of legacy notifications.
• Review estate documentation and valuations, determine the charity’s entitlement, and verify that all due funds are correctly received.
• Ensure that all relevant charity tax reliefs are properly applied for, including Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax appropriations, and Income Tax (form R185).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy income and correspondence within OSUK’s CRM system and Finance Tracker.
• Track the status of ongoing cases, pursue outstanding actions, and take prompt steps to address issues or disputes as they arise.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams—such as Finance, Supporter Care, and Partnerships—to promote strong stewardship and compliance.
• Refer or escalate complex or high-impact matters to the Director of Finance and Senior Finance Manager when necessary.
• Contribute to team meetings, process improvements, and the development of best practice.

Person Specification

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate clearly and sensitively, both in writing and verbally.

· Proven experience in legacy administration within the charity sector or in probate and estate law.

· Highly organised, with the capability to prioritise and manage a diverse caseload effectively.

· Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, documentation, and data entry.

· Skilled in interpreting wills, estate accounts, and related legal documents.

· Competent in reviewing estate accounts to verify the correct application of Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and to ensure estates are properly finalised.

· Proficient user of Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

· Review estate accounts, including the allocation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT), to confirm estates are correctly administered.

· Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (ILM) or legal/paralegal qualification.

The Case Coordinator will work closely with the Head of Direct Work to ensure the delivery of high-quality Independent Social Work Reports (ISWRs) across the direct work strand of SWWB. About Us

The Bike Project is an award-winning charity which refurbishes second hand bikes and donates them to refugees.  We were founded in 2013 by, Jem Stein, after he struck up a friendship and found a bike for Adam, a Darfuri refugee who had fled his home in Sudan after war broke out.

The Bike Project has grown into a national operation with new CEO, hundreds of volunteers, a team of 20 committed staff, roadshows in different cities, an online shop and two workshops, one in the capital and one in Birmingham.

To date we have supported over 15,000 refugees and people seeking asylum by giving them a second-hand bike. In addition, we have supported hundreds through our programmes designed to build confidence and build friendships in the local community.

Duites and Responsibilities 

This role will provide maternity cover for an initial period of 12 months, with the potential for a 1–2 month extension. It will focus on developing new corporate partnerships and managing relationships with our existing corporate supporters.The role holder will work closely with the Chief Executive and Head of Fundraising, Marketing and Retail to ensure a strategic approach to the development and management of relationships with our corporate partners, enabling us to maximise the potential from them.

As well as leading income generation, the post will develop current and new corporate partnerships, providing personalised stewarding journeys.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of securing income directly from corporates for charity, both winning and securing new partnerships as well as maintaining and developing existing supporters. They will be able to prioritise, manage pipelines, research, pitch and manage partnerships to increase their value.

Location

Hybrid, with one day a week working from our London (Brixton) office. Occasional travel required to Birmingham, evening or weekend work.

The Central Office Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the central office facility, including day-to-day oversight of organisation-wide services provided by SCT’s external IT support provider. 

The postholder will champion health and safety processes across the organisation through the use of an online portal. They will also provide key support in the coordination and delivery of organisational training. 

In addition, the role includes assisting in the delivery of a generalist HR service, working alongside the HR Officer and external HR advisors. 

Main purpose of post

Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
 Lead on production of an annual operations improvement plan,
collaborating with teams across the charity to ensure their operational
support needs are listened to and met.
 Manage and develop operational systems to support the effective
delivery of Weston Park Cancer Charity as the organisation grows;
conduct regular reviews of internal operational processes, including
reviewing contracts and monitoring systems.
 Support the Head of Governance and Operations in effective
management of supplier contracts including building leases, IT support
provider, third party suppliers, cleaning. Ensuring legal, regulatory, and
contractual compliance for each contract whilst achieving value for
money.
 Provide operational management of our working spaces, including our
buildings, facilities and also our big purples buses within the community, ensuring the public, colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and
experience a warm and welcoming environment.
 Lead on the coordination of charity vehicles maintenance and insurance,
working with the Head of Cancer Services, Transport Coordinator and
Service Development and Engagement Manager for the Outreach Team.
 Review, Develop and Produce operational policies and procedures to
ensure the smooth running of the organisation (e.g. Lone Working).
 Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO) and lead on data collection
and storage in line with current GDPR and Data Protection Regulations.
 Lead with producing monthly and quarterly Operations Reports, and
producing any further reports requires for assurance purposes for the
Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees.
Health & Safety
 Lead on Health & Safety and risk management, and the annual H&S audit
with the support of our external advisor, ensuring risk assessments are
undertaken and the charity fulfils its legal duties in relation to our
buildings, services, fundraising activity and home-based working.
 Ensure all staff and volunteers are trained on H&S and there is
appropriate coverage of Fire Marshalls, First Aiders, MHFA etc. on site, in
outreach services and for our charity events, as appropriate.
 Lead on our contingency planning and maintaining our business
continuity plan.
Tech Support
 Lead on cyber security training and improvements.
 Lead on IT equipment and access for staff, including the onboarding and
off boarding process and management of access to shared folders and
platforms.
Workwear and equipment
 Manage stock control and ordering of office and facilities supplies.
Support & Development
 Manage the Operations Assistant and support their development.
 Lead the Operational Working Group to ensure operational matters are
progressed in a timely and efficient manager, reporting progress to the
Leadership Team.
 Lead with the co-ordination of the annual renewals training for H&S, Fire
Marshalls and MHFA, support HR with the induction training of new staff.
 Undertake operational improvement projects as directed by the Head of
Governance and Operations
 Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an

We are looking for an experienced Media and PR Manager to join our dynamic Marketing and Communications team. The successful candidate will have developed a strong news sense, either as a journalist or from working in a media engagement role within a broader communications team. They will bring to the role exceptional political judgement and a strong list of existing contacts in the UK media. They will also be able to use their media and PR skills to spot opportunities in the UK news agenda to secure high-quality media coverage that influences decision-makers in the social affairs space. The role is varied and exciting. About the role

The role will involve the management of the day-to-day financial activities, VAT, gift aid, payroll and the monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation. The job holder will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Officer and volunteers within the team. There will be a requirement to work closely with the income generating staff, budget holders, auditors, banks and credit card providers on a regular basis. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance Officer and Finance volunteer.

About the Role: 

Funded by The National Lottery Reaching Communities, we are looking for a passionate and motivated manager, who is aligned with our clinical approach, to cultivate and grow the counselling service in line with our mission to see survivors of modern slavery and exploitation recover from their experiences and thrive. This role is responsible for leading a team, developing the counselling offer and contributing to systems change within the UK through social policy and research.

What You’ll Be Doing:   

• Leading and managing a team of counsellors, promoting reflection, wellbeing and innovation within the service
• Developing our therapeutic service in collaboration with the counselling and Leadership team
• Providing 1:1 therapeutic counselling service for a small number of survivors of modern slavery with complex needs
• Contributing to the development of an evidence base for the service, delivering training and contributing to research

Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager

We are seeking a passionate mental health professional to lead and inspire wellbeing initiatives for those at risk of homelessness in London.

Position: Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager

Salary: £37,880 (ILW) Per Annum Plus Pension & Other Benefits

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development of creative and innovative mental health and wellbeing initiatives across London services. You’ll focus on promoting positive coping strategies, embedding trauma-informed practice and ensuring psychologically informed environments for staff, volunteers and clients.

You’ll oversee coordination of mental health and substance misuse work, deliver workshops and reflective practice training, and provide practical advice and guidance to frontline staff. You’ll also build strong partnerships with statutory and community mental health services, ensuring timely access to support for those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver initiatives that support positive mental health and wellbeing
• Embed trauma-informed practice and psychologically informed environments
• Supervise the Mental Health and Substance Misuse Coordinator
• Train and advise staff in supporting people with complex mental health needs
• Deliver workshops, training and reflective practice sessions
• Build and maintain strong external partnerships
• Ensure policies and resources are up to date and accessible
• Monitor and report on outcomes to funders and senior management
• Manage expenditure within budget and maintain accurate records
• Uphold safeguarding, quality assurance and data protection standards

About You

This is a strategic, empowering role suited to someone with a deep commitment to mental health and social impact. You’ll bring a strong understanding of the intersection between homelessness and mental health, as well as experience supporting individuals with complex needs.

To succeed, you will have:

• A strong understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness and mental health issues
• A background in mental health, counselling, psychology, social work or a related field
• Proven experience supporting people with complex needs
• Experience delivering training and embedding trauma-informed practice
• Strong safeguarding knowledge
• Experience managing staff or volunteers
• Good knowledge of statutory and community mental health networks
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills
• A reflective, values-driven approach and commitment to making a difference

Manage and deliver our place based programmes for young people.
 

Since 2022, we’ve been growing our place-based programmes in key regions across the country - communities full of potential, creativity and ambition, but where young people can face barriers to accessing the same networks and opportunities as their peers.

Our new strategy, Ambition 2030, puts these local programmes at the heart of helping young people build the future they choose. With almost one million young people currently not in education, employment or training (NEET), the need to create meaningful pathways into work and learning has never been greater.

Through our place-based projects, backed and funded by industry leaders, we are focusing on the young people who are most at risk of missing out on the benefits of school.

We believe earlier intervention is key to solving the NEET crisis. This means delivering opportunities to practise and apply skills in real-world contexts. Providing meaningful encounters with a wide range of industries and professionals. And meeting young people where they are to build their confidence.

We’re seeking a project manager to lead this work with our trusted industry partners, working in collaboration with employers, local and combined authorities, schools and charities. We are currently delivering Ignite projects in Blackpool, East Riding of Yorkshire, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Northampton, Rochdale and London, and may take on additional projects in new locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead our Ignite place-based programmes, managing workshops, employer engagement, and volunteer coordination, while ensuring local partners stay central to design and delivery.
• Oversee programme delivery, stakeholder relationships, coordination and logistics
• Through targeted interventions ensure the right workshops and people are in place to support young people to raise their aspirations, develop their skills and bridge the gap between education and employment

This role is a hybrid of strategic and operational work.

Please note, these projects follow The Talent Foundry delivery model of being facilitator-led and supported by industry volunteers. As the project lead you will not be facilitating or teaching workshops, or providing 121 support to students.
