Dignity in Dying is the UK’s leading campaign for assisted dying law reform. We fight for a compassionate assisted dying law for terminally ill, mentally competent adults. We are a national campaign and membership organisation campaigning for change across the UK.
Compassion in Dying is a national charity working to amplify people’s voices, shift attitudes and drive changes to the healthcare system so people’s end-of-life decisions are heard, understood and respected when it matters most. We support people to start honest conversations about death and dying, and record and revisit their wishes whenever they want to.
The role:
As we move closer towards assisted dying legislation across the British Isles, this role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile, fast-paced campaign that will provide plenty of challenges and opportunities for personal development.
Using your ability to prioritise, this role is made up of a varied set of objectives including finance-based tasks, supporting the fundraising function, database management and direct contact with our members, supporters and donors.
Working closely with the finance team, the operations and database team manage the daily donations across multiple platforms and maintain donor details on the organisation’s CRM database (Raisers Edge).
Our comprehensive database allows our team to support to the fundraising team, who undertake frequent mailings to our donor base.
Our team has frequent contact with donors and members, as well as people seeking information on the campaign and how to get involved. We also manage a small-but-mighty group of volunteers who give us in-office, administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Daily task delivery: Carry out a range of daily operational tasks assigned based on team capacity and workload. These may include batching and logging cheques for banking, processing credit card donations, responding to incoming calls and emails, updating GDPR consent records in the database, and managing incoming and outgoing post
- Database ownership: Take responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and development of the database, helping to optimise its functionality in response to evolving operational needs
- Meeting participation: Attend internal meetings as required, including representing the team in the absence of the Operations and Database Manager.
- Team support: Assist the fundraising team with large-scale mailouts and provide support as needed including data selection and export for mailings
- Team coordination: Act as deputy to the Operations and Database Manager, leading daily team check-ins and helping to coordinate day-to-day task delivery in their absence
- Process documentation: Maintain and update team process guides, ensuring documentation remains accurate, clear, and aligned with best practice

About you:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Beacon is now in its second decade and has grown substantially over the last three years, including a rebrand and expansion into international projects. To support this growth, we are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and intuitive Admin & Operations Officer to help ensure the smooth running of our daily activities and core functions.
This varied role spans many aspects of our work, from administration and resource management to supporting the systems and tools that keep Beacon working efficiently. You’ll work across the charity, supporting our executive leadership, projects teams, and fundraising activities, as well as and ensuring colleagues have the information and resources they need to deliver for our beneficiaries.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the charity and in supporting senior staff. As you settle into the role, you’ll have opportunities to develop skills in areas such as financial management, executive support, relationship management, stewardship, or project logistics, depending on your interests and the charity’s needs.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organisational administration
- Lead on day-to-day operational processes to ensure the efficient running of the organisation.
- Provide executive support to the CEO and COO, including diary coordination, scheduling, and meeting logistics.
- Oversee internal financial processes, including processing expenses and invoices, documenting charity income and outgoings, ensuring accurate record keeping, and liaising with our external accounting team.
- Coordinate team activities such as strategy days, team-building events, and the annual Christmas party.
- Support HR-related processes such as managing staff anniversaries, birthdays, departures, and basic record-keeping.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our busy Finance team and develop your skills in one of the UK’s leading conservation charities. This role arises in order to support the Finance Systems Replacement project which is a Board priority and a major digital change project.
In order to facilitate this we are looking for additional support in our Financial Control Team. We are looking for a strong technical professional, whose financial expertise and specialist knowledge are a given. The main purpose of the role is to provide technical financial accounting support, with a focus on, but not limited to VAT, gift aid and corporation tax, preparation of statutory accounts, to ensure that RSPB and its related group entities comply with a range of regulatory and external stakeholder reporting requirements and specific project requirements related to the implementation of the new finance system.
What's the role about?
You will be part of a team of professionals reporting to the Financial & Treasury Controller.
As part of a team of 5 your main duties will be to:
- Deal with VAT, Gift Aid and corporation tax enquiries, produce returns, etc.
- Be involved in the preparation of the Trustees’ Report and Accounts (including subsidiary and related entities); This involves co-ordinating input from the wider Finance team as well as liaison with the Communications and Corporate Governance and Risk teams to provide an integrated narrative that clearly articulates RSPB’s impact and the challenges it faces.
- Liaise and provide information to internal and external audit.
- Help manage and reconcile the fixed asset system with particular focus on getting the fixed asset data ready for accurate transfer to new finance system.
- Financial analysis and technical reporting including government statistics returns

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Fully qualified accountant or part qualified in final year of exams.
- Good working knowledge of the rules, regulations and standards in respect of tax legislation (VAT and Gift Aid), preferably for the charity sector.

The Jewish Museum London has undergone substantial positive change over the past two years, moving out of our Camden site and moving to a ‘Museum without Walls’ model. Main Duties & Responsibilities
The main role of the Learning and Communications Coordinator will be to administrate the activities of the learning department, in particular our flagship programme of schools workshops both in person and digitally. About the role:
The Advance Prison Advocate will support women on remand and those unsentenced within the prison setting, providing pre-release support; focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion.
The Prison Advocate will develop a referral pathway with the Offender Management team within the prison, for women to access the service and will work in partnership with the existing service providers operating within the prison. You will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified above including providing ‘through the gate support’. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.
You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.
You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists.
A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential.
About You:
To be successful as the Prison Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).
The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.
Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines
You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

About the Role
As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, then tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, to explain our services, and assess the impact of crime. About the role:
This role is based in our Ashford, Kent office.
You will need to be resilient, confident with speaking to all kinds of people, happy to work as part of a team and willing to constantly learn and adapt to new situations.
You will enjoy being a part of a busy and varied working environment and can demonstrate an ability to communicate with victims of crime in a professional and supportive manner. They will have strong customer service ethics, be competent in the use of IT skills and know how to use a range of software packages on a PC.
The role of a Hate Crime Advocate is one that you can make your own and your prior experience, either from work, university or your personal life will be considered during screening so please do apply even if your skills and background are not an ideal fit.
You will have experience of working in the Criminal Justice System and be aware of the challenges and barriers that victims of crime can face when recovering from their experience of crime however this is not essential as you will receive a comprehensive training package as part of your induction process.
What is essential is that you are solution focused, have resilience to manage the challenges that come with this work and look to learn from and work closely with the rest of your team.
Working as a member of our Specialist Services Team you will be someone who is passionate about supporting victims of Hate Crime, including those who have been impacted by the incident. You will ensure support remains victim focused and is delivered to the highest of standards in line with our policies.
As a Hate Crime Advocate you will be:
- Managing a busy caseload of self-referrals, referred service users, delivering excellent services which support the commissioners and their service goals to victims.
- Ensuring each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
- Working alongside the Volunteer and Community Manager to raise awareness of the Hate Crime and the service we provide
You will need:
- You will have the skills to conduct risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning.
- You should have demonstrable experience of working in a similar setting or position.
- An ability to work independently and prioritise a busy workload is essential.
- Have good interpersonal skills to work alongside the Volunteer and Community Manager to raise the profile of Hate Crime within Victim Support, this will include presentations to external agencies.

The Wise Group and St Giles came together a few years ago to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency. To date we have been awarded more than 20 contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing, Finance, Benefit & Debt and Women’s Services across England and Wales.
About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide operational management support across one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales. You will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users, who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison, and provide leadership and operational management support in debt and welfare benefits to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of the contracts.
We will also rely on you to set performance objectives with FWCs and monitor progress, monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance to ensure compliance with policy and procedures, and to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with local Wales Probation managers and staff as well as other external stakeholders. Managing partnerships and ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff are also vital aspects of the role.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working in or managing services supporting challenging people, for example people who have complex needs and those who are reluctant to discuss their needs
- Experience of working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives and outcomes
- Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice
- Higher level certificate in money and/or welfare benefit advice from accreditation providers
- Wide range of money advice knowledge, budgeting, dealing with priority and non-priority debts, County Court/High Court options, insolvency options and a range of welfare benefits
- Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance in a team
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
