Job description

Are you a talented Website Developer/Designer eager to build a digital home for a vital cause?

Mindset is a brand new UK charity dedicated to empowering men around mental health and self-improvement, and is seeking a skilled volunteer Website Developer/Designer to create our essential online platform. This is a unique opportunity to design and build the primary hub where men will find support, resources, and a pathway to personal growth.

We need someone who can translate our mission into an intuitive, engaging, and accessible website. This will be the cornerstone of our outreach and service delivery.

What you'll do:

  • Design and Develop our Website: Create a responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing website from scratch, incorporating our brand new "Mindset" logo and blue-centric branding.

  • Implement Key Features: This may include sections for:

    • Our mission, vision, and values

    • Information on men's mental health and self-improvement topics

    • Details about our services (e.g., peer support groups, workshops)

    • Volunteer recruitment and donation pages

    • A contact form and FAQs

    • Potentially, a blog or resources section

  • Ensure User Experience (UX) & User Interface (UI): Design a logical navigation structure and an engaging layout that makes it easy for visitors to find information and access support.

  • Optimize for SEO: Implement basic search engine optimization principles to help men find us online.

  • Ensure Accessibility: Design with accessibility standards in mind, making the site usable for all.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with the Project Manager, Graphic Designer, and Trustees to ensure the website aligns with our overall strategy and brand.

Who we're looking for:

  • Proven Website Development & Design Experience: A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to build functional and aesthetically pleasing websites.

  • Proficiency in Web Technologies: Experience with platforms like WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace, or coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • UX/UI Design Skills: Understanding of user-centred design principles.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring the website is polished and error-free.

  • Communication Skills: Able to clearly explain technical concepts and collaborate effectively with a non-technical team.

  • A Passion for our Mission: A genuine commitment to improving men's mental health and fostering self-improvement.

What we offer:

  • The incredible opportunity to build the foundational digital presence for a brand new, impactful charity.

  • A significant project to add to your professional portfolio.

  • Flexible working arrangements – you can contribute remotely at times that suit your schedule.

  • The profound satisfaction of knowing your skills are directly helping men across the UK.

Ready to build the platform that empowers men?

If you're a talented Website Developer/Designer eager to contribute your expertise to a meaningful cause, we'd love to hear from you.
