Volunteers are needed to assist in the sorting and pricing of goods donated to our charity shop. As well as keeping the shop tidy, rotating stock on a regular basis and serving our clients who use the shop.
There are a variety of activities available, and where we can, we will try to tailor the opportunity around you. We are open Monday to Saturday (9am - 5pm) with various times available to volunteer.

Job Description:
The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children. Purpose
The effective provision of a welcoming client administration service for WFRC.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Reception
To welcome clients and other visitors in person or on the telephone.
To answer the telephone and pass on messages to other WFRC staff and volunteers as well as signpost to other organisations where appropriate.
2. To assist the Office Manager to make reservations for and be the first point of contact for WFRC’s Chat group, events & other activities. To keep a record of all interested clients and send out relevant literature.
3. To assist with the purchasing and control of domestic matters, stationery, kitchen supplies and office equipment as requested by the Office Manager.
4. To assist in general recruitment activities such as writing, placing and updating adverts and undertake administrative duties to support WFRC Services.
5. To take the post to the central post office at the end of each day.

The Children's Book Project is a national charity on a mission to tackle book poverty. About the Service
The Wellbeing Team at Age UK Sandwell supports people aged 50+ to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing through social, physical and community activities. The service helps reduce loneliness and isolation by encouraging community connections, offering one-to-one support, befriending and signposting, and working with volunteers and local partners to help older people stay active, independent and connected.
About the Role
The volunteer for this social group will be responsible for facilitating weekly activity groups for older people. Specific tasks may include:
You will be supported by a staff member in the initial weeks to prepare you to run the group.

Training
· Core training (including Safeguarding, GDPR, Health & Safety, and Equality & Diversity) will be provided digitally or in print as part of your volunteer registration pack.
· Role-specific training will be agreed with your line manager and delivered through a mix of digital and face-to-face sessions.
· You will also complete the Age UK Sandwell induction programme and any additional training relevant to your role.

We value volunteer development, and as part of this role your can develop your skills further by training to become a till user alongside your regular shop volunteer responsibilities, or progressing into a Key volunteer, a role which includes opening, running, and closing the shop in the absence of the manager.
