The Board is responsible for our strategic direction and governance, ensuring we achieve our charitable objects and are well run. It is a demanding but highly rewarding volunteer role, one in which you will make a difference to the lives of thousands of people. We are currently looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Board as Treasurer/Finance Trustee and also head up the finance subcommittee. The Treasurer plays a key role in overseeing the charity’s financial health and ensuring the Board can make informed, responsible decisions.
You may be a qualified accountant or have equivalent knowledge gained by experience. We are ideally looking for someone with experience in charity finances who is able to take a strategic approach to financial planning and oversight and to help non-financial colleagues understand these.
Previous trustee experience isn’t required, and you will be supported into the role through an onboarding and induction process.

We have 250 local groups which play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS across the UK. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.
We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Barnet and South Hertfordshire group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. The Listening Place is a volunteer-led charity aiming to transform how we support people who feel suicidal. Action for Refugees in Lewisham works to relieve poverty and isolation amongst refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants in Lewisham. At the Rainbow Club supplementary school we aim to help children between the ages of 4 and 11 to improve their literacy, numeracy and social skills in a friendly and supportive environment. We need your skills and enthusiasm to assist the teacher in the delivery of a literacy and numeracy class and work with other volunteers to develop a programme of recreational activities. The Rainbow Club runs on Saturday mornings during term-time.
Your duties will include:
- Arriving punctually for the 9am briefing by the Rainbow Club Headteacher;
- Working in a team with other volunteers and teachers to deliver literacy, numeracy, arts, sport activities – this includes ensuring children remain engaged throughout the lesson and carry out set tasks as instructed by the teacher;
- Working one-to-one with specific children if and when required;
- Filing classroom work and homework in children’s individual files and keeping all materials and resources tidy and properly stored;
- Liaising with parents as and when required for example distributing leaflets and news about future meetings and events and also assisting with parents' day;
- Following the teacher’s policies on discipline and classroom management;
- Supervising the children during break times;
- Supporting the children during class trips;

Are you fluent in French and would like to teach others? We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to facilitate our online group and support others to improve their conversational and written French. You will be working with a diverse range of age groups and abilities and making a difference to those who would like to learn!
What you will be doing
- To facilitate an online group help people to learn French
- Engage in conversation, allowing individuals to feel supported and comfortable to practice their French
- Prepare session plans for beginners
- Encourage those attending to get involved in discussions
The skills you need
- Fluent in French . Desirable to hold a qualification
- Good communication skills
- Ability to provide a supportive and inclusive atmosphere
