Your Role: Social Media Coordinator (Volunteer)

As our Social Media Coordinator, you’ll be the voice of MINDSET online. You’ll craft engaging posts, manage our platforms, and build a digital presence that resonates—especially with younger audiences who need to hear that it’s okay to speak up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.

• Respond to messages and engage with followers.

• Collaborate with content creators and ambassadors to share authentic stories.

• Monitor analytics and adapt strategy to boost reach and impact.

What your role will involve

You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.

Respond is seeking a qualified accountant to join the Board of Trustees as honorary Treasurer.

About the Respond Treasurer role

This is an exciting opportunity to volunteer in a vital governance role at Respond: the Treasurer maintains an overview of the charity’s financial affairs, ensuring effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are in place.

Respond is a national charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced abuse, violence or trauma. Respond offers psychotherapy and advocacy support and provides specialist trauma informed training for services.

In 2022 the NSPCC's Speak out. Stay safe volunteers returned to primary schools. As a Speak out. Stay safe. volunteer, you will visit primary schools to deliver Speak out. Stay safe. workshops that teach children about the different types of abuse and how they can speak out and stay safe. Our Speak out. Stay safe. workshops are age-appropriate and memorable and need an energetic and enthusiastic person to deliver them. You'll work alongside other Speak out. Stay safe. volunteers to make sure at the end of each session the children feel empowered and know who they can speak out to if they are worried.

Description

Blind and partially sighted people tell us the support they receive from others that have experienced something similar, can have a hugely positive impact. It can help them to navigate life with sight loss, receive valuable support and access help and guidance on a range of topics at a potentially difficult time.

RNIB is seeking volunteers with sight loss to make a real difference to blind and partially sighted people and those with a vision-related concern, by supporting someone who is either newly diagnosed, or who is experiencing a challenging time in their sight loss journey. Draw upon your own adaptation journey, and enable others to become as confident as you in living a day-to-day life.

As a Buddy you will be matched with a customer remotely on a one-to-one basis for a period of 6 weeks. During this time, you will connect with them and provide support over the phone, by email, video call, or social media. You will create an opportunity for the individual to feel better about their situation by listening well, showing empathy and understanding, providing reassurance and encouragement, sharing your own experiences that might be helpful, as well as signposting to RNIB and other appropriate support. There is flexibility on the number of matched customers you have at any one time.

been with the current external environment and the challenges for our

communities with experience of homelessness and poverty.

gain a full experience of the breadth of Cardboard Citizens work.

·To sit on one of the Board’s Committees.

·To provide specialist advice and expertise as required and appropriate.

·To advocate and champion Cardboard Citizens’ work, values, ambition,

and strategic direction.

In total, Trustees usually commit the equivalent of 10 days per annum to

their role.

The Honorary Treasurer is a key voluntary post within Mountain Training England and the wider network of related mountaineering organisations. As a member of the Board of Trustees, the Treasurer shares the responsibility for overseeing the management of the organisation and implementing the strategic objectives of its members.

The Treasurer has an oversight role over all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Board of Trustees to safeguard the organisation financially. They act as an informed reference point for the Chair and other Trustees.

Although it is the Treasurer’s responsibility to ensure proper financial records and procedures are maintained, much of this work is delegated to the Finance and Audit Sub-committee and paid staff.

Role of Mountain Training England Treasurer

• The Treasurer oversees the financial matters of Mountain Training England in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements of the Charities and Companies Acts and reports both quarterly to the Board and to the Members at three Council meetings per year about the financial health of the organisation.
• The Treasurer ensures that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are in place.
• The Treasurer takes the lead on the formulation of policies for finances, reserves and investments.

Specific Responsibilities

• To oversee/verify and present budgets, accounts, management accounts and financial statements to the Board and Members after discussion with the Finance Committee. 
• To ensure that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.
• To ensure that full and accurate accounts and records are kept.
• In conjunction with the Executive Officer maintain sound financial management of MTE’s resources, ensuring expenditure is in line with the charity’s objects.
• To ensure compliance with relevant legislation e.g. Companies and Charity legislation and contractual agreements with external agencies such as funders and statutory bodies

• Chairing the Finance and Audit Committee in line with its terms of reference and reporting back to the Board.
• Present the annual statement of accounts to the Members at the Annual General Meeting.
• To liaise with designated staff about financial matters.
• Advising on the financial implications of MTE’s strategic and operational plan.
• Ensure that the annual accounts are compliant with the current Charities Statement of Recommended Practice.
• Ensure any recommendations of the independent examiner are implemented.
• Contribute to the fundraising strategy of the organisation.
• Advise on reserves policy and investment policy.
• Ensure that there is no conflict between any investment held and the aims and objects of MTE or partner organisations.
• Ensure that MTE has sufficient liquidity to meet its future commitments.

 PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE

Considerable experience as a treasurer of similar sized organisations

Some experience of walking, rock climbing or mountaineering.

OR experience of controlling a budget in a small-to-medium-sized (SME) organisation/business

Have an interest in the development of the Mountain Training awards

Financial accounting and reporting experience

Experience of working with charity or educational body accounts

Recognised accountancy qualification e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, AAT etc

Commitment

As Treasurer you will chair the Finance & Audit Committee, which meets quarterly. You will also be expected to attend four Board meetings and a minimum of one of three Members’ Council meetings per year.  Attendance at the AGM is expected to present the annual statement of accounts to members.

Occasional attendance at MTUKI Council meetings and Finance Planning Group meetings is required.

Term

Trustees serve for a maximum of three years and are re-elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. At the end of the first three-year term of office Trustees are eligible for re-election for one further term of three years. From time to time the positions of Treasurer, Vice-Chair and Chair become subject to renewal. The Trustees nominate these positions from the Board and the Council votes to approve them at the AGM.

Expenses

Reasonable travel, parking and subsistence expenses are paid to Trustees, in line with MTE expenses policy.

As one of Britain’s most distinctive public art galleries, Pallant House Gallery offers critically-acclaimed exhibitions and a world-class collection of Modern British art, set within a beautiful 18th century Grade I listed townhouse and contemporary wing. 

We are currently inviting applications from prospective new Trustees with skills and experience in the following areas:

• Fundraising and philanthropy in museums, galleries and the cultural sector, particularly in relation to major donor networks and/or trusts and foundations
• Capital redevelopment projects, particularly architectural design, project management and construction
• Digital communications and marketing
• Current professional experience of the museums, galleries and heritage sector, including knowledge of the public sector priorities and funding

This is a voluntary role but the Gallery will reimburse Trustees for reasonable travel or out-of-pocket expenses, in line with our expenses policy.

We have lots of opportunities at flexible times, including speaking to customers and operating the till on the shop floor, tagging clothes and steaming in the back room and much more.

Overview
 We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Fundraising Volunteer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong ability to build relationships, and a commitment to achieving fundraising goals. The Fundraiser will engage with various stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community members, to promote our cause and secure financial support.

Duties

• Develop and execute fundraising campaigns that align with the organisation's objectives.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors through effective communication and engagement strategies.
• Utilise software tools such as Raiser's Edge for tracking donations, managing donor information, and reporting on fundraising activities.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials that highlight fundraising initiatives.
• Organise fundraising events, including planning logistics, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring successful execution.
• Conduct outreach efforts to engage the community and raise awareness about the organisation's mission.
• Provide exceptional customer service to donors and stakeholders, addressing inquiries and fostering positive relationships.
• Monitor market trends in fundraising to identify new opportunities for growth and engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fundraising or a related field is preferred.
• Strong skills in relationship management and public relations.
• Proficiency in using software tools such as Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• A passion for the organisation's mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
