Are you eager to contribute to a leading educational charity? The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), the UK's leading body for tax advisers, seeks a Lay Representative for its Council. We promote taxation education and aim for a simpler, more efficient tax system.
About the Role: As a non-voting Lay Representative, you will act as a 'critical friend', offering independent insight and challenging Council perspectives. Your external viewpoint will ensure the Institute benefits the public and upholds its charitable goals.
Key Contributions:
* Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Institute's strategy.
* Ensure the Institute conducts its affairs in accordance with its charitable status and objectives, focusing on public benefit.
* Provide Council with a yearly report (approximately one side of A4) on perceptions of the charity's work in the public interest and towards its purposes.
* Utilise your skills to analyse complex issues and contribute constructively to discussions.
Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking an individual with strong governance and committee experience, ideally in a non-executive role, especially within charities or public bodies. You should have excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of engaging in strategic discussions and understanding complex reports. We value interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate with diverse groups and influence constructively.
Important Independence Requirements: To ensure role independence, we cannot accept applications from Chartered Tax Advisers, tax-related professionals, or individuals with recent trustee, employee, volunteer, or business ties to the Institute, or close personal connections with trustees or senior management. Please declare you do not fall into these categories in your application.
Time Commitment & Remuneration: The role involves attending five to six Council meetings annually, including at least two in-person meetings in Central London, plus an annual half-day strategy session. A fee is paid for preparation and attendance at meetings and an hourly rate for other authorised work.
The Lay Representative is paid the following:
•£500 preparation, attendance (including the giving of feedback and any associated emails) for all Council meetings (whether in-person or virtual)
•£71.42 hourly pre-approved rate for all other work, which must be pre-authorised in advance by the Chief Executive via email setting out the work. Such instances are expected to be exceptional.

Initial Contact: Sending warm, personalised emails or making friendly phone calls to introduce yourself and SUNSHINE, and to share our Participant Registration Form.

Friendly Assessment: Once the form is received, scheduling a brief, welcoming phone call or video chat to complete our SUNSHINE Participant Assessment Form. This is a conversation to understand their needs, preferences, and interests, ensuring they feel heard and understood.

Service Matching: Based on the assessment, you will personally suggest and invite them to 2-3 services that are a great fit for them, such as our Monthly Coffee Mornings or Digital Inclusion and Skills Programme.

First Session Follow-Up: Collaborating with our "volunteer buddies" to ensure the participant feels comfortable at their first session. Within a week, you'll follow up personally to see how they're doing and whether they would like to attend another session.

Managing the Participant Journey: Acting as a consistent point of contact for new participants, answering their questions, and ensuring a smooth transition into our community.

Data Management: Meticulously tracking participant engagement and progress to ensure our services remain relevant and effective.

Radcliffe Housing Society is a small, registered provider based in Sevenoaks, Kent, with properties across the Southeast. BECOME A BLUE SMILE TRUSTEE
As a trustee you will be able to use your passion for children’s mental health; your experience and knowledge to guide our strategy and vision for the future.
Blue Smile's mission is to transform the mental health and life chances of Cambridgeshire children through arts-based therapies, supporting over 200 children a week in the region providing one-to-one therapy and groupwork. We work in particular, in accordance with our charitable aims, with those who face disadvantage or deprivation.
We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board to help us achieve our mission.
Effective governance is key to the continued success and sustainability of our charity. As a trustee you will be able to use your passion for children’s mental health; your experience and knowledge to guide our strategy and vision for the future.
Our Board of Trustees is particularly looking to welcome new trustees with experience in the areas of fundraising, education (primary) and the small charity sector. However, we very much welcome people with a diverse range of backgrounds, skills and lived experience who would like to contribute to the success of our work.
As a trustee, you will receive training to carry out your role, have opportunities to represent Blue Smile in the community, and be part of a supportive and welcoming board. Being a trustee gives you the chance to gain experience in strategic planning, develop skills in new areas, and add significant value to a thriving charity.
Commitment
The Board of Trustees meets six times a year; usually on a weekday evening.
Trustees can also be involved in the work of sub-committees and will meet for a strategy planning session annually.
Location
Board meetings take place online; however, we would welcome visits to our head office in Cambridge.
We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you live or work in the Peterborough and Fenland area of the county.

This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

What this position entails
The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for formulating our digital marketing strategy, including digital fundraising strategy, guiding the content creation team, and managing the brand voice, while also laying a solid marketing foundation for the organisation.
Collaborating with the operational director and the content creators, the manager will lead the crafting of our organisational strategic plan to implement marketing initiatives. This role involves developing our brand, enhancing communication and our online visibility, as well as providing robust support to the fundraising team in reaching our fundraising objectives by optimising digital presence, events and grant applications.
The ideal candidate should be capable of working autonomously, leading all facets of our marketing efforts, and managing a team. We seek a professional with experience in start-ups who can develop a brand from its inception and navigate budget limitations using free tools.

Essential:
- Proficient in Digital Marketing plan development and execution
- Manage content creation with our assistants' support

- Maintain brand consistency across all platforms and act as a brand guardian

- Database design for high-dimensional, structured datasets
- Authentication & security best practices for sensitive HR/wellness data
Frontend development
