About this key role
You’ll join us in mentoring children and young people who are victims of, or have been affected by, sexual or criminal exploitation, or who are frequently missing from home. Receiving full training, including a Level 3 Information Advice and Guidance qualification, you’ll provide support to SOS caseworkers developing and delivering educational sessions to children and young people between the ages of 10-25 years, on topics such as: weapons awareness; the reality of prison; gangs; county lines; and child sexual exploitation.
We positively encourage applications if you’ve previously worked on a client-led support project, and/or have had personal adverse experiences such as homelessness, substance misuse, debt, involvement with gangs, etc. This includes having had experience of the criminal justice system and serving a prison sentence. (You will need to demonstrate how your lived experience supports your ability to benefit our clients).
What we are looking for
- Relevant knowledge/understanding, preferably with lived/personal experience of the Criminal Justice System, and/or having been affected by criminal or sexual exploitation.
- Experience with socially excluded children, young people and/or adults.
- Experience of providing advice and guidance and/or mentoring (not essential).
- Award in Education & Training and/or Mentoring Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- Ability to communicate and understand different experiences and perspectives without judgement.

7th Perthshire (Methven) Scout Group are looking to recruit a Chair of Trustees.
About us:We are a small yet active charity running scouting groups (Beavers Cubs and Scouts) for young people aged 6-14 living in and around Methven, Perthshire. The ethos of the group aligns with the core principles of Scouting which aims to teach young people “Skills for Life”. All scouting activities in Methven are provided by a dedicated group of volunteers, overseen by a Board of Trustees to which we now seek to recruit a new Chairperson. Duties

Additional Information
- This is a volunteer role and attracts no remuneration, however reasonable expenses will be covered.
- Although this role does not require the successful candidate to directly work with young people it will require an enhanced PVG.
- The Board of Trustees meet approximately 4-5 times a year, usually for up to 2 hours at a time. Additional time outside of trustee meetings will likely be required to follow up on actions agreed by the Board. This role could be performed as a hybrid role as some meetings could be run online, however an in-person presence at the AGM each year is essential. The AGM is held where the charity operates, in Methven, Perthshire.
- Training both for this role, and about Scouts as an organisation and charity will be delivered online in an on-demand format. The successful candidate will be expected to complete this before taking up the role in September 2025. Further ongoing support and training is offered both online and in person to enable the successful candidate to enhance their skills, learn new skills as required and network with other volunteers across the wider organisation.

Job Overview:
As a Roma Helpline Volunteer, you will be at the heart of a new and exciting pilot project aimed at offering confidential, culturally competent, and multilingual support to Roma and Romanian-speaking communities across Greater Manchester and the UK.
You will respond to helpline calls during scheduled shifts, log information securely, and provide advice or referrals related to housing, benefits, health, employment, and legal matters. Key Responsibilities:
- Helpline Support:
Respond to calls via a secure VOIP system during scheduled helpline shifts (2nd and 4th Thursday, 5–7 PM).

Log all call data securely using Europia’s GDPR-compliant CRM system. - Referral and Follow-up:
Identify the caller's main issue and provide information or refer them to the appropriate service.

Offer assistance in Romanian or another Roma community language.
Help promote trust and understanding with callers through culturally sensitive communication. - Collaboration and Supervision:

Work closely with other volunteers, staff, and translators/interpreters when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Fluent in English. Proficiency in Romanian or another Roma community language (e.g., Romanes, Slovak, or Czech) is an advantage.
- Compassionate and empathetic with strong active listening skills.
- Comfortable speaking over the phone and dealing with potentially sensitive topics.
- Basic IT skills to manage digital forms and online logging tools.

Time Commitment:

Internationally renowned Eyam Museum in the Peak District, Derbyshire, is looking for an experienced finance professional to take on the voluntary role of Treasurer. The successful candidate will join our friendly Board of Trustees and will have oversight of the financial operations and decisions of the organisation - which includes a museum shop - to ensure that funds are managed responsibly and in accordance with priorities.
Museum finances are administered by a qualified part-time Finance Officer who oversees day-to-day payments and receipts, payroll and pension, bank reconciliations and monthly financial reports, and who will support the Treasurer in their role. We are looking for someone who has the experience to advise the other trustees on financial and treasury matters, oversee the setting of an annual budget (c.£150.000) and monitor performance against that budget, playing an active part in the decision making of the trustee body. The Treasurer will also facilitate the annual auditing of accounts.

Eyam Museum’s primary purpose is to tell the story of Eyam Plague (1665 – 66). It is a highly successful organisation - well run, financially secure with substantial reserves and widely respected within the sector. Visitor numbers have quickly returned to pre-COVID levels (at c. 36,000 in 2024) and the organisation is a vibrant and energising place for visitors, staff and Trustees alike. The Museum is a charity and a limited company with a retail arm which is a wholly owned subsidiary company.
The Museum is currently undertaking an ambitious Options Project looking at how best to develop our audiences, collections, retail operation and the building in which they are housed. We are working with professional consultants and received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to undertake this work. The project will complete in summer 2025. This is an exciting time to join and to help shape the Museum’s development over the next few years.
This is a voluntary role for a candidate who is willing to participate actively, using their skills and experience to help drive the museum’s vision through exceptional governance.
Further Information
We hold monthly management committee meetings which include both Trustees and key museum employees (the Museum Manager, Curator and Retail Manager). Trustee-only meetings, including the AGM, are usually appended to these Meetings. Trustees are expected to attend a proportion of these meetings in person, joining via Zoom for the remainder. The meetings are held in the evening. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. Appointments are initially for three years, renewable.

In the last year, 3,855 women and children were supported by Hestia to recover from domestic abuse.
Anyone can experience domestic abuse, at any point in their life, regardless of their background, age, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation. However, it is a gendered crime, with women being three times more likely to be victims.
We help people understand what domestic abuse is and develop the knowledge, skills and tools they need to protect themselves, stay safe and leave a relationship, if and when they’re ready to do so.

As a registered charity, we are dedicated to supporting individuals facing mental health difficulties and advocating for better mental health services. Trustees are responsible for guiding the charity to fulfil its charitable purposes and ensuring we make the best possible use of available resources.

We value a broad spectrum of expertise, including but not limited to leadership, governance, finance, fundraising, legal, and sector-specific knowledge. Above all, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about our mission and are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. As a trustee, you will play a key role in guiding the organization, providing oversight, and ensuring we continue to thrive and achieve our goals.
As a trustee, you will:
- Bring a deep commitment to mental health support and have an understanding of the charity’s work.
- Act as an ambassador for Norfolk and Waveney Mind, raising awareness of the importance of mental health and the services we provide.
- Contribute your expertise and insights to the board discussions and decision-making process.
- Participate in fundraising and awareness-raising events, should you wish.
We are looking for people who demonstrate:
- A strong understanding of the legal responsibilities and duties of trusteeship.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Good independent judgement, creative thinking, and strategic vision.
- The ability to operate within a flexible and adaptable framework, with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
As a trustee, your role will include:
- Ensuring the charity follows its purpose and operates within its governing document.
- Overseeing the charity’s financial stability and ensuring it applies resources effectively.
- Safeguarding the reputation and values of Norfolk and Waveney Mind.
- Contributing to the development and evaluation of long-term strategy and key performance targets.
- Providing guidance on key issues, initiatives, and challenges the charity faces.

Time Commitment and Requirements
Trustees should be able to commit approximately 10 hours per month, with flexibility for varying demands. This includes attending:
- Monthly board meetings (held remotely or at our Sale Road offices in Norwich).
- Participation in sub-committees (optional but encouraged).
- Periodic training sessions and attendance at all-staff meetings (at least once per calendar year).
- Ad hoc visibility at public, fundraising, and social events.
