The Sociological Review Foundation, a registered charity that exists to advance public education on the subject of sociology and related disciplines, is looking to appoint an individual to join the Board of Trustees during an exciting time of organisational growth and development. Your responsibilities as a trustee will include the following:

● To provide guidance on the Foundation’s fundraising, partnership and income generation strategy in collaboration with the Deputy CEO Fundraising

● To be aware of, and conform to, the responsibilities of a trustee and company director

● To participate in at least three Board meetings each year, as well as the Annual General Meeting. Some of these meetings will take place on Zoom, others in person (in London or other cities in England)

● To commit up to one hour per week on average to the role, including Board meetings

● To play an ambassadorial role and promote the Foundation

● To act in the best interests of the charity and to comply at all times with its policies and procedures.

This is not a paid position; however, travel and any childcare expenses while on trustee business will be covered in line with our expenses claim policy.

Principle Responsibilities: Chair Role

Wekume is a comprehensive mobile app designed to provide university students in Uganda with seamless access to reproductive health services, including counseling, testing, products, and health education, while also offering personal development resources like business incubation and career-building opportunities

Together with our on-campus engagements and social media platforms, Wekume helps students protect themselves and rewrite the narrative around SRH in Uganda.

Role Summary Wekume is seeking a Volunteer International Fundraising Manager to design, build, and lead our international fundraising efforts. This is a key leadership role, critical to growing partnerships with corporations, individuals, businesses, organizations, and allied nonprofits to help fund Wekume’s transformative work. You will recruit, guide, and mentor a team of experienced fundraisers and gift officers, working together to secure the support needed to:

1. Develop and launch our new and improved Wekume app

We have built an innovative self-managed athlete-sponsorship platform focused on unique connections between sponsors and athletes. Sponsors, athletes, and fans can sign-up. In addition, all users can follow athletes who post on our social feed. Negotiation steps are in-built before the contract is confirmed; secure payment is taken for the sponsorship amount and held securely. As milestones are reached, an athlete's payment percentage is released, protecting both sides. our latest build has developed our campaign area, where marketing assets are now auto-generated in the brand and athlete voice through AI and ML implementation. At MiMIAT Health, we are empowering heroes with chronic conditions. We’re looking for a Finance & Fundraising Lead (volunteer, 4–5h/week, with potential for paid FTE based on performance and funding) to help us build the financial backbone of MiMIAT Health as we scale. This is a hands-on, high-trust role for someone who believes numbers can drive impact, not just profit. Based purely on performance and commitment, this role has the potential to evolve into a paid part-time or full-time position as the organization grows and funding permits. You’ll work directly with our Founder/CEO and our COO, shaping how we budget, forecast, raise capital, and build confidence with funders. As we close our pre-seed round and enter the next phase, your contribution will directly influence how we grow, and how many patients we reach. You’ll be joining a committed, purpose-driven team spread across three continents and five countries, all working remotely, all led by mission.

�� What you’ll do? Co-develop MiMIAT’s financial planning, budgeting processes, and 3–5 year financial models to support strategic growth, capital forecasting, and upcoming fundraising milestones. – Create clear, funder-facing materials (budgets, burn rates, strategic use of funds). – Support with fundraising strategy and active pipeline management. – Help structure and track our runway, budgeting, and internal financial processes. – Collaborate on shaping our investor narrative and data room, alongside CEO.

About StreetVet

StreetVet is a fast-growing national charity, committed to providing free vet care to the pets of those experiencing homelessness and to keeping pets and owners together to maintain the human-animal bond. StreetVet relies on its team of over 250 vet and nurse volunteers in 23 locations around the UK to provide free veterinary treatment, funded by grants, corporate and private donors and partners. Since inception in 2016, the charity has treated nearly 3,000 pets and has won numerous awards including the Vet Trust Award for the Most Trusted Veterinary Charity, Purina Better with Pets Prize and Homeless Link Excellence Award for Excellent Support.

Our Top Priorities

We are looking for a new Trustee with a veterinary background who can bring a fresh perspective to our board. Working with the Trustee Board and Senior Leadership Team to support with clinical governance, particularly regarding compliance, statutory, legal and regulatory requirements. As a young charity we still need practical, hands-on support from time-to-time from the trustees in their area of expertise while we work to mature into an organisation where the trustees can focus on a purely governance role. Role Description:

The Clinical Governance Trustee will oversee the charity’s clinical governance for the benefit of the animal patient and the client owner. Practical guidance will be provided to enable StreetVet to help all veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to understand clinical governance, whether they are in clinical practice, or not.

Role Responsibilities and Duties:

• Play a full and effective role on the Board of Trustees (attend minimum 75% Trustee Board meetings)

• Act as a conduit for clinical governance information between the Trustee Board, CEO and Clinical Director.

• Meet with Clinical Director quarterly. 

• Ensure volunteers are familiar and coherent with the Royal College Veterinary Surgeons Clinical Governance Code and VMD requirements. 

• Keep up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and new developments relevant to the area of work. 

• Reflect upon the charity’s performance, making appropriate changes to practice. 

• Critically analyse the evidence base for procedures used and making appropriate changes to practice. 

• Reflect upon communication with other members of the StreetVet team and making appropriate changes to practice. 

• Reflect upon communication with clients and making appropriate changes to practice. 

• Have clear protocols in place to ensure all staff are familiar with procedures for ensuring patient safety. 

• Communicate changes in procedure to the whole practice team. 
   

Who we’re looking for - knowledge and experience  

• A thorough understanding of the veterinary sector. 

• Knowledge of veterinary care within the charity sector would be beneficial. 

• Must be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) 

• Ability to advise and recommend clinical governance activities and reviews, where necessary, to fulfil the requirements of RCVS code of conduct and VMD requirements.

• Excellent networking, influencing and communication skills

 Input and Time Commitment:  

• A time commitment of 2-4 hours a month would be expected. 

• Trustees are expected to be available for regular consultation and input on a range of issues in between meetings, usually via email.

• Attend at least one outreach a year. 

• Attend virtual quarterly board meetings, held on third Tuesday of January, April, July, October at 6pm. Meetings duration approx 1 – 2 hours. 

• Papers for the meeting are sent the week prior and Trustees are to ensure they have read and understood all the information in advance in order to participate fully. 

• Attend annual conference – usually 2 days in London. 

• Attend in-person annual strategic review, usually half a day, in London. 

• Training will be provided to give a good understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of trustees.

Role overview:​

As the Volunteer Foster Coordinator, you will play a vital role in managing our foster program for cats in our care. This position is essential for ensuring that our cats are placed in loving, temporary homes while they await adoption. You will collaborate closely with foster carers, potential adopters, and other volunteers to create a supportive environment that benefits both the cats and their fosters.

Key responsibilities:​​

• ​Foster management: Oversee the onboarding and ongoing support of foster carers.

• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for foster carers, addressing any questions or concerns and providing necessary updates. Communication will primarily occur through email and messaging platforms, access to facebook and Whatapp is essential.

• Training and support: Provide guidance and resources to foster carers on cat care, behaviour, and best practices to ensure the well-being of the cats in their care and ensuring our policies and procedures are upheld.

• Record keeping: Maintain organised and accurate records of foster placements, including intake forms, health updates, and feedback from foster homes.

• Coordination of resources: Ensure that foster homes have the necessary supplies (food, litter, etc.) and access to veterinary care as needed.

• Post-Foster follow-up: Check in with fosterers to gather feedback and facilitate any transitions to permanent homes, ensuring a smooth process for both the cats and their fosters.

As the adoption coordinator, you will oversee the rehoming process for cats in our care. This role is essential in matching cats with suitable adoptive families, ensuring a smooth transition from foster homes to permanent residences. You will work closely with fosters, adopters, the Trustees and the Home Visit Co-ordinator to facilitate successful adoptions that benefit both the cats and their new families.

Key responsibilities:​​

• ​Adoption management: Oversee the adoption process from home visit stage to adoption day, including participating in screening potential adopters, facilitating home visits, coordinating meet and greets and providing after care support. 

• ​Communication: Act as the primary point of liaison between prospective adopters and foster carers, providing information about available cats and addressing any questions or concerns with the aim of facilitating a smooth running adoption process. We use Facebook messenger and email as primary forms of communication so access to these is essential.

• ​Matchmaking:  Assess the needs and preferences of both cats and adopters to ensure the best possible matches for long-term success.

• ​Record keeping: Maintain accurate and organised records of adoption applications, follow-ups, and outcomes to track the progress of each adoption.

• ​Support and guidence: Provide resources and support to adopters on cat care, behaviour, and integration into their new homes to facilitate successful adoption. 

• ​Post-adoption support: Facilitate after care support for adopters and ensure the conditions of adoption agreements are upheld- for example sending out neutering reminders when adopted kittens are old enough  and sign adoptions off once fully complete.

Develop and implement effective content and communications to engage and grow Mast Cell Action’s impact across the UK. Main responsibilities include management of website content, design and development of social media content and plans, as well as executing corporate communication strategy.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support delivery of our communications strategy, with focus on digital communications, content and community events.

Social media management and planning, including content creation (which must include video and design)

Administer and manage the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content (for all channels and member communications)

Assist in the development and deployment of the communications & marketing strategy

Undertake innovative marketing of events, with a focus on delegates and sponsors/advertisers
