Information about the role

The main thing we need you to do is cheer! You will be a vital part of race day, supporting 282 Shelter runners from the side lines. You’ll need to help create a high energy, friendly atmosphere, motivating everyone on race day to do their best.

Volunteering at this event is also an opportunity to have fun, meet new people and experience some wonderful community spirit whilst contributing towards our mission.

Location: Somewhere along the race route, exact locations to be confirmed

This role fights the housing emergency by creating an inspirational buzz and providing much needed support to our fantastic runners, helping them in their mission to raise money for our Fight for Home.

Age UK Lewisham and Southwark is a dynamic local charity committed to improving the lives of older people across two of London’s most vibrant and diverse boroughs. We support over 5,000 older people each year through life-enhancing services: from day centres to advice, befriending to wellbeing activities, and much more.

The Role – Treasurer

As Treasurer and Trustee, you will play a key role in helping us achieve our mission. You will:

· Oversee the charity’s financial strategy and health, ensuring good governance and sustainability.

· Chair our Finance Sub-Committee and lead Board discussions on finance, investments, reserves, and risk.

· Support and challenge the CEO and Finance Director, providing strategic advice and guidance.

· Help drive long-term impact by ensuring robust financial planning aligns with our services for older people.

You will work closely with a committed group of Trustees and a skilled management team, making a meaningful contribution to the community.

What We Are Looking For

We’re keen to hear from people who:

· Are qualified accountants (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or experienced senior finance professionals.

· Have excellent financial acumen, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.

· Have some experience of charity finance, fundraising and pension schemes.

· Have an interest in good governance and strategy and are effective team members.

· Share our commitment to improving the lives of older people and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Experience as a trustee is helpful but not essential - support and induction will be provided.

Time Commitment

· Board of Trustees: Meets 4 times per year (evenings, hybrid).

· Finance Sub-Committee: Meets 4 times per year (Treasurer chairs).

· Additional availability to liaise with the Chair, CEO, and Finance Director (typically monthly).

· Attendance at the Annual General Meeting and Annual Away Day.

Total commitment: approx. 6-8 days annually with flexibility and remote options.

We are looking for volunteers with parenting or child caring experience to support families for 2-3 hours per week, for a minimum of one year upon completing the preparation course.

We provide a preparation course for all volunteers before they start to visit families, which covers all the essential training and information you will require.

The main task of a volunteer is to visit families in their own homes on a regular basis, to offer a combination of the following: Friendship / Practical Help / A listening ear / To accompany to appointments, or help access local amenities / The opportunity to share ideas of skills, leading to increased parental confidence / Links to community resources and support systems

CleanupUK is a small charity with big aspirations. We use the activity of litter-picking to support people living in disadvantaged areas to form litter-picking groups – not only to keep their neighbourhood clean but also to bring the community together.

Now in its 18th year, CleanupUK is embarking on a growth phase. As a result, we would like to attract people to CleanupUK’s board as trustees who have varied and diverse backgrounds and experience. You will likely feel passionate about the issue of litter and also about its impact on communities.

We are currently looking to recruit three new trustees who are prepared to devote their time and energy to helping CleanupUK grow into the next stage. The three skill sets we are looking for are :

Are you a proactive, efficient and compassionate individual who is looking to make a difference?  If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a Pantry Volunteer to work at its London Pantries, where you will support the day-to-day operation of a community pantry at one of our London locations. You will work alongside the Pantry Coordinator and other volunteers to help create a welcoming, dignified, and well-managed space for local members. Tasks will include stock handling, customer service, and light-touch support such as signposting and meal planning tips.

About this key role
As our Pantry Volunteer, you will help with specific Pantry needs such as stock rotation, manual handling, speaking to clients, and making them feel comfortable within The Pantry.  You will carry out and comply with all health and safety procedures and policies, ensure all labelling of food items are correctly displayed and ensure any items are within the correct date for displaying. 
Positively supporting members and always maintaining confidentiality, and creating a welcoming, dignified, and well-mannered space for local members. Tasks will include stock handling, customer service, and light-touch support such as signposting and meal planning tips.

What we are looking for

• Previous experience of working within a retail and customer-facing role.
• Supporting the daily running and operation of the Pantry.
• Supporting the Pantry coordinator ensuring the shop is well-stocked, clean and presentable.
• To carry out and comply with all health and safety procedures and policies, including food safety and manual handling.
• To ensure all food items are correctly labelled and within the given use-by date.
• Positively supporting members and always maintaining confidentiality.
• To assist customers to choose their shopping items and to complete simple forms.
• On occasion, offering meal planning advice along with recipes and food shopping tips.
• Helping to unload deliveries and ensuring food is correctly stored.

Please note: this role requires that successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS check, on the basis that the post involves contact with vulnerable participants and colleagues.

Purpose of the Role

This volunteer role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering a range of services across Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. We support clients with mental health with both clinical and non-clinical interventions.

To enhance the Safe Space service provision as experts by experience, supporting service users and their peers on their recovery journey.

Main Responsibilities

To work closely with the HFEH Mind Safe Space team in supporting, encouraging and motivating the people that attend our services in their mental health recovery journey. Utilising their knowledge gained through lived experience and promoting recovery through visual recovery

Tasks

· Signpost Safe Space attendees to appropriate support services

· Supporting with Self Referrals to community support services

· Promote recovery by means of visible recovery

· Promote mental health and applicable community services

· Utilise listening and communication skills to support individuals attending the Safe Space Service

· Conduct follow-up calls and face-to-face appointments supporting the recovery journey

· Assist with the completion of recovery plans

· Motivate and encourage community engagement

· Support with the development and updating of borough resources and asset mapping

· Co-facilitate with psycho-educational or informational groups

· Support service users with paperwork

General Responsibilities

Obuyisi Bw'omu Initiative is seeking a dedicated Project Management Volunteer to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of our programs in Mental Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Health), Quality Education, and Climate Resilience. This is a remote/virtual volunteer role. The volunteer will play a key role in ensuring that all projects are well-structured, delivered on time, and aligned with our mission to create sustainable impact in the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities Program Planning & Coordination: Develop project workplans, timelines, and activity schedules across all thematic areas (Mental Health, WASH, Education, Climate Resilience). Project Monitoring: Track progress of ongoing programs, identify gaps or risks, and recommend solutions. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project records, compile activity reports, and prepare brief updates for internal and external stakeholders. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise virtually with partners, community representatives, and team members to ensure effective collaboration. Resource Management Support: Assist in organizing project resources, including digital tools, volunteers, and partner contributions. Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to lessons learned and best practices to strengthen program delivery and organizational impact. Support Grant/Proposal Inputs (if applicable): Provide project information and frameworks that can be used in donor proposals or reports.
