The Opportunity

Are you looking to use your professional skills to make a real social impact? We are seeking a highly organized, proactive Volunteer Executive Assistant (EA) to support our Chief Executive Officer.

This rewarding role offers the chance to gain high-level experience in the charity sector. You will act as a central pillar across our organization, directly contributing to our growth and community outreach.

What You Will Do: arrange of business admin duties - 

• CEO Support: Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and handle administrative workflows.
• Project Assistance: Coordinate tasks for community initiatives to support free service delivery.
• Human Resources: Assist with volunteer onboarding records and training schedules.
• Fundraising Support: Help track grant applications and coordinate local fundraising events.
• Communications & Social Media: Create content using Canva and manage our active social media profiles.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Skills:

• Tech Literacy: Mastery of the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams.
• Design Tools: Proficiency in Canva to create engaging social media and marketing graphics.
• Communication: Warm, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Organisation: Excellent time management and the ability to manage diverse administrative tasks.

Desirable Criteria:

• Driving License: A clean, valid UK driving license is highly preferred.
• Background Checks: A current Enhanced DBS check is ideal, though we can arrange this for you.

Commitment & Flexibility

• We require a commitment on our core days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Online days: Tuesday and Friday (will consider job share across 3 days)

Position Overview

This is a dynamic and rewarding internship opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping the voice and visual identity of SEED Madagascar. About the organisation

SEED Madagascar is a British Charity working in partnership with communities in the southeast of Madagascar. We integrate high quality community health, livelihoods, education infrastructure and conservation programmes to support sustainable change and add to international best practice through research and publication across all of our programmatic areas.

On site we have two shops to volunteer in. The Showroom is Martlets primary furniture and home goods store and the Discount Shop is home to our £1 clothing rails. Both are hubs for our local community to share stories and bag a bargain! We work together with the warehouse to take in the majority of donations for the charity.

Volunteering in our shops offers a variety of exciting tasks. From sorting and pricing donations to spotting hidden gems, you'll roll up your sleeves in the backroom and assist on the shop floor. About the position

The IT support role is vital to the organisation, as they will have the responsibility for the maintenance of the technical appliances used in the organisation. The IT support will not be required to come in on a weekly basis, but upon request as for when it is needed. The main tasks for the IT support will be reassuring all technical appliances are updates, responding to potential breakdowns and assuring electrical safety. Technical skills are required, in addition to flexibility, as they would need to quickly respond to potential breakdowns etc.

The role provides you with flexibility and autonomy at work. Where necessary, specific training will also be provided to help you develop and grow your skill set.

The Video Editor Assistant will help coordinate all video and podcast production activities, supporting the design and delivery of high-quality content across various platforms. This role provides flexibility and autonomy, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and edit diverse video content for social media, including documentaries, promos and highlight videos.

• Adhere to a clear and comprehensive system for content files and archives.

• Assist in post-production-related tasks as needed.

• Prepare and edit footage to uphold brand style 

• Find scripts and other source materials for video and podcast projects.

The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is funded by West Sussex County Council and delivered by Everyone Health LTD. Everyone Health are a national commissioned provider of health and lifestyle services, with a highly skilled expert team that has extensive experience in strategic and operational management of health business at a national and European level. The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is open to adults of ALL ages who are worried about or at risk of falls. Our specialist trained Postural Stability Instructors support participants with falls prevention strategies as part of the 24 week FAME programme that are up to date and evidence-based to ensure maximum effectiveness so people can feel more confident on their feet.

We have different venues across West Sussex in community-based classes consisting of a variety of strength and balance exercises, all delivered by our friendly Postural Stability Instructors.

The Role:

We are looking for engaging and caring volunteers to support at our sessions across West Sussex. 

This would involve supporting the Postural Stability Instructors in setting up the class e.g. setting up chairs as well as making teas, chatting to the participants and assisting in exercises where needed.

What skills do I need?

Ideally, we would like someone who is Emergency First Aid Trained and who has a passion or experience in a physical activity field. Alternatively, someone who has been through a similar falls prevention programme who would like to support with the successful service.

We're looking for volunteers to assist with the day to day running of our shops located across north east Essex. Volunteer vacancies are available in various shop locations.

Duties of the role include the following:

(Note - Not all the tasks apply to every shop and will be dependent on which shop; type of tasks required for that area and your level of experience)

• Customer service
• Operating till & cash handling
• Signing customers up to Gift Aid scheme & inputting gift aid data if required
• Preparing donated goods for sale
• Ensuring recyclable goods are put in appropriate place
• Pricing as outlined by the shop manager
• Display and merchandising (may include transferring items from one display to another)
• Stock control
• Sorting donated goods (this may include lifting or moving moderately heavy items such as sacks of donated clothes or boxes containing books in some areas)
• Light cleaning duties and using an iron or steamer to press donated clothes

For coffee shops only:

• Operating coffee machines, serving customers and clearing and wiping down tables
• Ensure good food hygiene, health and safety and fire regulations are adhered to at all times

Training & supervision

• All required training, including till operation, gift aid and health & safety will be provided.
• For coffee shops you will be required to undertake online food hygiene training courses.

SNAAP is a charity based in Herne Bay, Kent which provides disabled children and their families with clubs and days out throughout the year. Children are aged 0-25 and disabilities range depending on the club:

Chill-in Youth Club - ages 11-25 years - less complex needs. Every other Tuesday 4.30-7.30 in Herne Bay. Young people who attend like to chill on bean bags, help cook their dinner, do gaming, play sporting games or just sit at a table and do craft or chat. There will be someone you can help! And you are an important mentor to these young people as they learn key independance skills. You can really make a difference to a young person and your attendance helps us take even more young people as this club is run at capacity.

Buzz Club - ages 8-13 years - less complex needs. 1 day a week during school holidays 9.30-2.30 in Herne Bay. Children love to make slime, do crafts, enjoy outside play and games, bake cakes and much more! This can be a lively session, depending on which children book on, so your help is much needed so we can keep an eye on all the different areas. 

Family Days out - families with all needs. These are held during all school holidays and range from a day at the beach or pool, diggerland, bowling or Mote Park. Providing support from staff and volunteers enables many families to attend, so your support is crucial. Play with children, provide an extra pair of hands at the beach to keep children safe, or create fun games at the park.
