Philosophy of Post
Independent Members of Appropriate Skills are members of the Guild’s formal Committees and bring external, professional expertise to the Committee to support decision making. Independent members are not Trustees but work alongside and with the Trustee Board and other associated Committees.
Responsibilities
1. To actively contribute, together with the other Committee members, Trustees, Officer Team, and Chief Executive to ensure that the Guild of Students has a clear strategic direction that meets the needs of its members and is focused on achieving these.
2. To be an ambassador of the Guild of Students, safeguarding and developing the reputation and values of the Guild of Students.
3. To ensure the long-term financial stability of the organisation.
4. To protect and manage the assets of the Guild of Students taking all due care over their security, ensuring that they are used exclusively in pursuance of the agreed objectives.
5. To contribute actively to the Committee, using any specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the Board of Trustees reach sound decisions. This may involve, but is not limited to:
a. Scrutinising board papers
b. Leading discussions
c. Focusing on key issues
d. Providing guidance on new initiatives
e. Hearing specific HR and/or membership discipline cases
f. Other issues in which the Independent Member has special expertise.

Travel Radar is growing; We are looking for a Training Administrator to join our team and support our growth by supporting our contributors, interns and volunteers in the smooth operations of the organisation. You will have a hands-on role supporting our Learning & Development Manager in the effective running of internships, CPD programs and personal development training sessions in a remote environment.
Responsibilities and A Little More About the Role:
- Coordinating and managing the Learning Team inbox
- Tracking intern and student progression through programs and internships
- Managing data in our Learning Management System (LMS) and HR Database
- Arranging L&D Activities including training sessions and assessments, inline with instructor avaliability
- Supporting with HR activities for interns including recruitment, assessment centres and probation reviews
- Note-take meetings such as probation reviews, performance discussions and interviews
- Other administrative tasks to support interns and students, as directed by L&D Manager
Who We're Looking For:
- Passion for Business/Organisation Management, Administration and Office Management is ideal
- Willingness to learn new skills, software and (likely) a new industry - Aviation and Air-Travel
- Great communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office365 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels

We are seeking passionate Training Designers and Trainers who can help us create engaging, practical, and inspiring learning experiences — all delivered remotely.
Whether you are an experienced L&D professional or a natural educator with a flair for designing learning journeys, this role is central to our mission of preparing every young person to be truly “Prepared for Life.”
Your Strategic Impact
As part of our Learning & Development Team, you will shape the training that underpins our entire organisation. You will help ensure our volunteers feel confident and supported, and that our cadets receive high‑quality, age‑appropriate learning experiences.
You may choose to focus on adult volunteer training, cadet programme development, or both.
You will lead on:
Training Design

Creating engaging, accessible training modules for adult volunteers (e.g., safeguarding, leadership, youth engagement, first‑night readiness).

Designing fun, structured, and developmental sessions for cadets aged 8–17 (e.g., life skills, teamwork, resilience, outdoor skills).

Developing lesson plans, facilitator guides, e‑learning content, or activity packs.
Training Delivery (Optional)

Delivering virtual workshops or induction sessions for new volunteers.

Supporting cadet units with remote masterclasses or specialist sessions.
Curriculum Development

Helping shape a national training framework that supports consistent standards across all Ranger Cadet units.

Working with the Chief Ranger and Programme Leads to identify training needs and create solutions.
Quality & Evaluation

Reviewing existing training materials and improving clarity, engagement, and accessibility.

Gathering feedback to ensure our training remains relevant, modern, and impactful.
